Chapter 341 Coup

The Empress Dowager had only come to check on Nan Zhiyun's condition. Seeing that she was still standing in front of her unharmed, she was relieved, although she didn't seem to be in good spirits. Nan Zhiyun made an excuse, saying that her wound had been too painful and she hadn't rested well, and the Empress Dowager believed her.

Nan Zhiyun dared not let the Empress Dowager stay there too long, as it would be difficult to cover up any slip-ups later. She hadn't intentionally intended to hide it from the Empress Dowager, but Yu Jingchen had said when he woke up that no one else should know about his injury. Nan Zhiyun didn't dare take the risk, so she chose to conceal it for the time being.

After seeing the Empress Dowager off, Nan Zhiyun returned to Yu Jingchen's side. Yu Jingchen hadn't woken up since morning, and Nan Zhiyun was secretly anxious, but there was nothing she could do.

At night, Nan Zhiyun was so tired that she fell asleep next to Yu Jingchen. She was awakened late at night by the noise outside. Looking at Yu Jingchen, she saw he was still asleep.

"Happiness?" Nan Zhiyun called out to the outside.

"Your Majesty." Xinglai rushed in from outside, her expression somewhat grave.

"What's going on outside? Why is it so noisy?" Nan Zhiyun asked.

“Your Majesty, it’s Prince An and his band of traitors who have broken in…” Xinglai said.

Prince An? Nan Zhiyun snapped back to reality. How could this be?

“How could they possibly get into the palace?” Nan Zhiyun stood up.

"This servant doesn't know either, Your Highness. Let this servant have someone take you to avoid this place." Xing Lai's anxious expression didn't seem fake.

"His Majesty hasn't woken up yet... How is the situation now? Where is my father?" Nan Zhiyun vaguely remembered that her father had been sent to protect the safety of the capital and the palace.

"General Nan Su is not here. I have already sent people to look for him, but we have not been able to find him. Now there is chaos outside, and with General Nan Su not here, it will be difficult." Xing Laiye's face was full of worry, and it was clear that he was extremely anxious.

Just then, the sounds outside grew closer and closer. Time was running out. Someone came to report that Zichen Palace had been surrounded by Yu Jing'an's men.

Nan Zhiyun looked at the unconscious Yu Jingchen, feeling somewhat helpless. The fighting outside gradually subsided, and Yu Jing'an's voice rang out. Nan Zhiyun disregarded everything, lifted her skirt, and ran outside. Fortunately, she couldn't be stopped in time. She glanced at Yu Jingchen on the bed, then immediately followed him.

The two sides were facing off outside, but it was clear that Yu Jing'an had the upper hand. What was even more frightening was that some of the people on Yu Jing'an's side were clearly her father's men. She had seen them before; their surname was Chen, and they were also in charge of the palace guards this time.

"Commander Chen, where is my father? What are you doing?" Nan Zhiyun looked at Commander Chen in disbelief.

"So it's Consort Shu? Where is His Majesty? Why isn't he here? Could it be that he's too afraid? Surely he can't let a woman like Consort Shu come out alone." Yu Jing'an's tone was cold, and his eyes were full of disdain as he looked at Nan Zhiyun.

"Commander Chen!" Nan Zhiyun's voice rose, as if she hadn't heard Yu Jing'an's words at all.

"Why is Consort Shu angry? Don't worry, your father is doing very well and is enjoying himself at the General's Mansion right now." Yu Jing'an's lips curled slightly, his expression unrestrained.

"What do you mean by that?" Nan Zhiyun had a bad feeling.
