Upon hearing Nan Zhiyun's words, the Empress Dowager seemed to find it amusing.
"Is Yun'er stupid? Do you think she treats me like her mother? She's probably the one who wishes I were dead the most. I've raised her for so long, only to raise a heartless wretch. I was blind." The Empress Dowager said through gritted teeth.
"Does Consort Shu believe me now? The entire capital and the palace are now under my control. Yu Jingchen is doomed to die today. I hope you won't be ungrateful. As the saying goes, a wise man knows when to yield. Can Consort Shu, a woman, really turn the tide?" Yu Jing'an said disdainfully.
Nan Zhiyun remained silent, but she was completely unable to accept what was happening before her.
"Yun'er, come here." The Empress Dowager repeated.
“I will not go there,” Nan Zhiyun replied decisively.
The Empress Dowager's eyes flickered slightly: "Yun'er, are you going to go against my wishes for him now? Are you really going to throw yourself into this mess because of Yu Jingchen?" The Empress Dowager questioned Nan Zhiyun.
“I am His Majesty’s concubine…” Nan Zhiyun turned her head away.

Nan Zhiyun remained silent. She heard the Empress Dowager sigh and then say, "Your Majesty, Yun'er is willing to go to any lengths for you, even disregarding me and A-Su. But how can you face her?"
Nan Zhiyun hadn't recovered from the Empress Dowager's inexplicable words when she heard a voice behind her.
"It's my fault." It was Yu Jingchen's voice.
Nan Zhiyun's heart skipped a beat. She turned around and immediately saw Yu Jingchen standing behind her, looking nothing like his previous sickly appearance.
"Your Majesty..." Nan Zhiyun was still in a daze, and even Yu Jing'an below had not expected this turn of events.
Yu Jingchen smiled gently and stepped forward, while the Empress Dowager moved aside.
"It was my fault before. I will treat Yun'er well from now on. I will never let Yun'er suffer again. I promise." Yu Jingchen patted Nan Zhiyun's head, his eyes filled with complicated emotions.
