Nan Zhiyun suppressed her fear, but she was now certain that someone was following her. Every time she was lost, an arrow would shoot down to guide her.
But... as Nan Zhiyun walked, she realized that the path behind her was getting narrower and narrower, and more difficult to walk on. This didn't seem like the way out. Nan Zhiyun stopped in her tracks, no longer daring to wander aimlessly.
Nan Zhiyun expected more arrows to come, but this time she waited a long time and no arrows were shot. Nan Zhiyun began to feel uneasy. Where was that person? Or had she been deliberately lured here?
Nan Zhiyun could no longer see the road clearly. The trees here were too dense and too tall, completely blocking out the sky, and it was pitch black below.
Nan Zhiyun stood there, bewildered and unsure of which way to go. She paced back and forth, when suddenly, her foot slipped.
"Ah!" Nan Zhiyun screamed and fell down. It seemed someone had set a trap, and Nan Zhiyun had fallen into a pit. It wasn't particularly deep, but having just fallen off her horse, Nan Zhiyun was already aching, and now, falling into the pit, she felt like her bones were about to shatter.
Although the pit wasn't particularly deep, Nan Zhiyun still couldn't climb out. She was about to lose control of her emotions, but every time she felt that she couldn't hold back, she would tell herself that crying now was useless. It was just a pity that the tears still fell.
Nan Zhiyun crouched down inside, hugging herself and crying, feeling lonely, weak, and helpless. She should have known better than to ride the horse, and she shouldn't have wandered off alone. If she had stayed where she was, perhaps none of this would have happened.
Nan Zhiyun already felt unlucky enough, but then she heard a hissing sound. A chill ran down her spine. She looked to her side in horror and saw a snake coiled there, its tongue flicking...
Nan Zhiyun finally broke down; snakes were her biggest fear. But afraid of startling the snake, she immediately covered her mouth with her hand. She wanted to go back; who could save her?
The last time she came to the palace, someone secretly released snakes into her own palace, which is why she feels a chill whenever she sees these things now.
"Waaah..." Nan Zhiyun was like an abandoned child, pitiful and helpless. Seeing the snake getting closer and closer, Nan Zhiyun was on the verge of collapse. She kept trying to move towards the corner, but the snake seemed to be able to sense its location and charged straight at her.
"Ah!" Nan Zhiyun was bitten by the snake after all, and she was almost in despair. The unfamiliar surroundings were completely silent, save for the rustling of leaves in the wind. It hurt so much, it was so cold…
Nan Zhiyun felt like she was about to lose consciousness. Who could help her? Nan Zhiyun huddled in a corner, letting out suppressed sobs.
Meanwhile, Yu Jingchen, who hadn't found anyone yet, looked like he wanted to devour someone. He had just spotted Nan Zhiyun's horse, but hadn't seen her; instead, he had noticed the jewelry on Nan Zhiyun's head.
Logically, Nan Zhiyun should be nearby, but we've searched the whole area and haven't seen her. How far could a little girl like her have gone? And if she really was lost, Nan Zhiyun shouldn't be running around like that; staying put would be better than wandering off.
Since they couldn't find anyone, and Yu Jingchen's aura was incredibly chilling, everyone lowered their heads and dared not speak.
