Chapter 47 There's nothing to be afraid of.

Nan Zhiyun hugged her small body in the cramped space, trembling and not daring to even look at him. Suddenly, Yu Jingchen grabbed her arm, and she trembled with fright.

Upon seeing Yu Jingchen standing beside her, Nan Zhiyun was probably startled and knelt down without much reaction.

Nan Zhiyun didn't speak, but her fear was evident in her eyes. She clutched Yu Jingchen's robes, but seemed too afraid to hold on tightly, appearing somewhat timid. However, if anyone were present, they would have seen that Nan Zhiyun was pleading with Yu Jingchen.

A hint of worry appeared on Yu Jingchen's face as he squatted down in front of Nan Zhiyun. "It's not a punishment, it's just helping you apply medicine. Look, this is ointment." Yu Jingchen tried to soften his voice as much as possible.

But Nan Zhiyun wouldn't listen. She just kept shaking her head.

"Get up first," Yu Jingchen said, somewhat at a loss for words.

Nan Zhiyun didn't dare, so Yu Jingchen simply pulled her up, made her sit on the bed, and held her down.

"I told you to sit still and not to move," Yu Jingchen said.

Nan Zhiyun looked pitifully at Yu Jingchen, who felt somewhat helpless at her gaze. He simply sat down beside her: "Look, this is ointment. I was just applying it for you. If you don't believe me, look at your hand." Yu Jingchen took Nan Zhiyun's hand and showed her.

Following Yu Jingchen's movements, Nan Zhiyun looked at her hands. Seeing this, Yu Jingchen continued, "You were just dreaming. Nothing's wrong now, so what's there to be afraid of? It's just a simple application of medicine."

Nan Zhiyun's emotions seemed to gradually calm down.

"The medicine hasn't been applied yet, so let's continue applying it, okay? It'll be fine soon," Yu Jingchen said, without even realizing the change in his tone.

Nan Zhiyun pursed her lips and didn't say anything more.

Seeing that she did not resist, Yu Jingchen resumed applying the medicine for her, and would occasionally observe Nan Zhiyun's expression. Nan Zhiyun's expression remained wooden, but fortunately she did not continue to resist, so Yu Jingchen was temporarily relieved.

When Yu Jingchen first started applying the medicine, he could clearly feel Nan Zhiyun flinch, perhaps still afraid. He tried to be as gentle as possible, and later, Nan Zhiyun seemed to gradually relax.

Yu Jingchen handled everything as quickly as possible. During this process, Nan Zhiyun didn't say a word or even make a sound.

But just as Yu Jingchen finished applying the medicine and looked at Nan Zhiyun, he saw that Nan Zhiyun's eyes were red and swollen, and tears left streaks on her face.

Yu Jingchen's heart skipped a beat.

"What's wrong? Does it hurt a lot?" Yu Jingchen asked.

Nan Zhiyun shook her head.

"What happened? Why are you crying like this?" Yu Jingchen casually wiped away Nan Zhiyun's tears without even realizing it.

Nan Zhiyun fell silent again, staring blankly at her hands.

Yu Jingchen looked over, thinking she was afraid of something.

"Nothing will happen, and no one else will know. There's nothing to be afraid of or worried about," Yu Jingchen told her.

Seeing that Nan Zhiyun didn't react, Yu Jingchen grabbed her arm and said, "Let's rest first, it's late."

Nan Zhiyun didn't move. Yu Jingchen looked at her with some confusion, just in time to meet Nan Zhiyun looking at him, as if she wanted to say something.
