Nan Zhiyun was pampered from a young age, so she has always been very innocent, like a child who will never grow up. Because she suffered a lot of pain in the past, Nan Zhiyun hid herself and became an adult.
But once she has someone to rely on, once she feels she can be unrestrained, she will forever remain a child, happy, carefree, pampered and protected, without needing to grow up, because she knows that someone will shelter her from the wind and rain.
Previously, she always acted like a little girl when facing Nan Su and the Empress Dowager. But now, she acts this way more often in front of Yu Jingchen, because she can sense that Yu Jingchen has become her protector.
However, she had to be more reserved in front of her father and the Empress Dowager, because she was now to become their protector. Therefore, Nan Zhiyun no longer sought the same care from the Empress Dowager and Nan Su as before, but instead sought childlike tenderness from Yu Jingchen.
That night, Yu Jingchen had another dream.
He dreamt that he was in a void world, a world of white expanse with nothing around him.
Suddenly, he saw a figure appear in the distance—Nan Zhiyun, dressed in a white dress. She smiled sweetly, and he walked towards her with a smile. Nan Zhiyun stood there alone, ethereal in this misty world, like a fairy, as if she could ride the wind and drift away at any moment.
After having this thought, Yu Jingchen suddenly felt a sense of panic. He was afraid that Nan Zhiyun would really leave, and that he would really lose her.
So Yu Jingchen started running towards the distance, towards the place where Nan Zhiyun was standing, but no matter how fast he ran, it seemed that the distance would never shorten, she was always far away from him... visible, but never able to reach.
When Nan Zhiyun saw him running towards her, her eyes were filled with starlight, and she even reached out her hand to him.
But... he suddenly tripped and fell, and then watched as Nan Zhiyun got further and further away from him.
He tried to stand up, but he couldn't. He watched helplessly as Nan Zhiyun's eyes gradually dimmed, filled with a sense of desolation and self-mockery. Yu Jingchen saw her crying and wanted to comfort her, but alas, he couldn't stand up at all, and he couldn't even speak...
Yu Jingchen was getting anxious. Finally, he managed to stand up, but at that moment, he realized that Nan Zhiyun was getting further and further away from him. She was backing away... Her eyes were filled with disappointment... or perhaps despair.
He tried to grab her, but no matter how hard he ran, he couldn't get a response from Nan Zhiyun. She kept backing away, and just when he was about to grab her, Nan Zhiyun had completely disappeared before he could even touch her.
"Why do I try so hard to run towards you, but you never try your best to come to me..."
These words pierced Yu Jingchen's eardrums, and the next moment, he woke up with a start...

So I wrote a short story to practice and test the waters, and I wanted to get everyone's feedback through this story.
Let's see if anyone has any special suggestions. Feel free to share any ideas; I'll compile them and refine them into a unique piece. I hope it will bring you a different experience.
