Chapter 565 Gu Yinfan: Can't be fixed

Nan Yin was drunk and couldn't ride a horse, so Gu Yin had to take her back. After getting drunk, Nan Yin was very well-behaved and just sat there quietly without saying or making a fuss.

Nan Yin's identity was special, so Gu Yin was careful not to be seen when he returned. He held Nan Yin in his arms while she was sitting backwards and covered her with a cloak, after all, he couldn't ruin Nan Yin's reputation.

The horse didn't stop at the entrance of the General's Mansion; Gu Yin led them in from the back. She held the person in her arms; Nan Yin had already fallen asleep in his arms on the way back.

Nan Yin has a peculiar habit when it comes to drinking: if she gets drunk, she will absolutely not remember anything that happened the next day.

Gu Yin sighed as he looked at the child in his arms. If she could remember, would the outcome be different? Could the events of his past life be changed in this one?

"Yin'er, look at me this time, okay?" Gu Yin whispered, looking at the sleeping woman. But it was clear that Nan Yin wouldn't answer him. Gu Yin carried her back to Nan Yin's room.

A voice called out to him, “Gu Yin.”

Gu Yin looked over and saw a man about his age.

"How did you get here?" Gu Yin frowned slightly.

“I’m here to see Sister Nanyin,” he replied.

"She went horseback riding today and got drunk this afternoon, so I brought her back," Gu Yin explained.

"Gu Yin, do you like Sister Nan Yin?" the man asked him.

Gu Yin was about to carry Nan Yin into the house when he heard these words, and he paused slightly.

“I can tell you like Sister Nan Yin,” he continued.

"And... Gu Yin, did you meet Sister Nan Yin a long time ago? I feel like you know her very well, like you've known her for several lifetimes. Even with just a glance, you know what she wants." He asked, looking at Gu Yin.

Several lifetimes? But that makes sense, they met a long time ago... so long ago that he himself is starting to get confused.

"Gu Yin, don't you know everything? Do you know that after Nan Yin comes of age, she will enter the palace?" the man continued.

Entering the palace? These two words struck Gu Yin's heart. How could he not know? But Nan Yin never listened to him. And those things were beyond his control. The way of Heaven... could not be defied. Otherwise, not only Nan Yin, but he himself would also pay the price.

"Nan Su, if I told you that you would regret it if you became the Great General of Yuan Kingdom and became like General Nan," Gu Yin asked. Yes, that person was Nan Su.

"Why would I regret it? Protecting our homeland and safeguarding the peace of the people of Yuan Kingdom, what is there to regret? At worst, we will die on the battlefield. What is a true man afraid of death? It is only natural to sacrifice oneself for the country in times of crisis!" Nan Su said these words with great enthusiasm and passion.

Gu Yin smiled: "So, that's what you think, and Yin'er thinks the same way. You feel fearless on the battlefield, and Yin'er also feels it's right to enter the palace." Gu Yin continued.

Nan Su fell silent. He didn't know what to say, but he felt that what he had said should have been fine, right? Gu Yin ignored him and carried Nan Yin back to the room.

Gu Yin placed Nan Yin on the bed. Nan Yin was fast asleep, her little face flushed. Looking at her, he felt an overwhelming surge of emotion.

"Yin'er... please don't go to the palace, okay?" Gu Yin held Nan Yin's hand, but this question was destined to remain unanswered.

On the day of Nan Yin's coming-of-age ceremony, almost all the powerful and influential people sent people to the General's Mansion. After all, the General's Mansion was now at its zenith and was probably the most powerful and influential family in Yuan Kingdom.

When Nan Yin emerged, her fiery red dress startled Gu Yin's eyes; she was always so radiant and captivating. That day, besides the powerful and wealthy, almost all the nobles in the palace also sent gifts, including the Empress Dowager and the Emperor.

Everyone had already made up their minds. After the coming-of-age ceremony, Nan Yin collapsed wearily in her room. She was so tired.

"Miss, Young Master Gu is here." An Xin walked in.

"Gu Yin?" Nan Yin immediately sat up and went out to see Gu Yin.

Gu Yin stood in the courtyard, his back to Nan Yin. There was a peach tree in Nan Yin's courtyard, but now all the peach blossoms had fallen. Gu Yin, dressed in white, was a scholar-official. Nan Yin was immediately drawn to him when she opened the door.

“Gu Yin…” Nan Yin began to speak. Perhaps it was because she had come of age, or perhaps something else had changed, but Nan Yin seemed to have become more composed.

Gu Yin slowly turned his head. His hair was half loose, with the other half tied up with a white jade hairpin. He was dressed in white, like a fairy.

He called her name, "Yin'er," his voice as gentle as a spring breeze, warm and soft.

"Why did you suddenly come here?" Nan Yin walked slowly to him.

"I've come to give you a birthday present." Gu Yin took out a sandalwood box from his sleeve.

"Thank you," Nan Yin said, looking at the box and taking the contents.

"Open it and take a look," Gu Yin told her. Nan Yin glanced at Gu Yin and then replied, "Okay." She then opened the box and found a blood jade hairpin, adorned with red plum blossom hair ornaments. It was crystal clear, exquisite, and delicate.

"So beautiful..." Nan Yin was truly amazed.

"I carved this myself, do you like it?" Gu Yin felt a warmth rise in his heart as he looked at Nan Yin's expression.

"I love it, thank you. I had no idea you could do these things." Nan Yin picked up the hairpin, admiring it with obvious delight. It was truly beautiful...
