However, Yu Jingchen seemed to genuinely want to scare Nan Zhiyun, so he sat there without saying a word, waiting to see how Nan Zhiyun would react.
Nan Zhiyun didn't hear Yu Jingchen speak and stood there without moving. She didn't dare to do anything, for fear of accidentally angering Yu Jingchen again, since Yu Jingchen hadn't dealt with her yet today.
Fortunately, the weather isn't too cold yet, so Nan Zhiyun can still bear it wearing only this one undergarment. If it were winter, she probably wouldn't have been able to hold on much longer. However, her foot injury is a bit painful, and even though the weather isn't cold now, it's still quite chilly to walk barefoot on the ground.
Nan Zhiyun was unsure of Yu Jingchen's attitude. Since he remained silent, she could only wait. Fortunately, the imperial physician arrived shortly afterward. However, she still didn't know why Yu Jingchen had summoned the physician, so she felt somewhat uneasy.
"This old minister pays his respects to Your Majesty." The imperial physician bowed respectfully.
Yu Jingchen didn't say anything, finally deigning to turn his gaze to Nan Zhiyun. Nan Zhiyun's heart skipped a beat when she saw Yu Jingchen looking at her, fearing what he might do to her next.
Yu Jingchen walked towards them. Nan Zhiyun wanted to back away, but she remembered what Yu Jingchen had just said, so she held back. Besides, the bed was right behind her, and she had nowhere to retreat.
"What are you standing there for? Don't you know how to sit down? Do I have to tell you what to do?" Yu Jingchen's patience was running out.
Although Nan Zhiyun didn't know what he was going to do, she at least understood his words, so she sat down on the bed.
"Take a look at her, she's mute." Yu Jingchen said succinctly, and the imperial physician rushed over immediately. Nan Zhiyun finally understood why Yu Jingchen had called the imperial physician.
The imperial physician wanted to take Nan Zhiyun's pulse, but Nan Zhiyun was somewhat dazed at the moment, so...
"The imperial physician is going to take your pulse. Your hand is broken and you can't extend it anymore?" Yu Jingchen was really fierce.
Nan Zhiyun didn't speak, but simply stretched out her hand. The imperial physician's forehead was covered in sweat. What kind of mess was this? Why did they have to drag him into this? He was trying to save his life.
However, as he took the pulse, the imperial physician's brow furrowed deeper and deeper. What was wrong? It didn't seem like any illness...
"What happened? Why did she suddenly become mute?" Yu Jingchen also noticed that the imperial physician's expression was off.
Upon hearing Yu Jingchen's question, the imperial physician quickly replied, "Your Majesty... Consort Shu's pulse is not different, it should not be caused by medicine or injury, I'm afraid it's..." The imperial physician hesitated to finish his sentence.
"If you're dawdling and can't say anything, then you don't need to speak at all in the future." Yu Jingchen didn't care what the imperial physician was thinking; he just wanted to hear the answer.
"Consort Shu seems to be experiencing intermittent aphasia. Previously, it was likely due to significant emotional fluctuations or fear that she was temporarily unable to speak," the imperial physician stated, inwardly thinking, "No wonder His Majesty is said to be so terrifying; everyone is afraid of him. Look how frightened Consort Shu is now..."
Yu Jingchen had guessed this answer before, but now that he heard the imperial physician say it, he still felt... was this person too timid? So afraid that they couldn't even speak?
"When will it get better? Or will you be mute for the rest of your life?" Yu Jingchen asked again.
"This isn't a major problem for Consort Shu, but it's hard to say when she'll recover. Perhaps she'll recover naturally once things calm down, or perhaps she'll never fully recover," the imperial physician replied.
Nan Zhiyun breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this reason; at least it wasn't for any other reason. She had just been worried that she might never be able to speak again for the rest of her life.
Yu Jingchen didn't seem very satisfied with this answer, but he had no other choice. He wasn't a royal physician, so he could just let it go. Besides, if she became mute, so be it. What did it have to do with him? He was just timid and didn't get frightened; could he blame anyone else?
"And take a look at her feet too. She's so stupid she could even hit her own foot. If you can, take a look at her head as well," Yu Jingchen added.
Nan Zhiyun: "..." Yu Jingchen never speaks kindly, so Nan Zhiyun kept her head down and didn't say a word the whole time.
The imperial physician, on the other hand, was in a state of constant anxiety, wondering when he might accidentally lose his head. His Majesty was truly terrifying, and Consort Shu's situation was far too difficult.
But despite the complaints, what needs to be seen still needs to be seen, and what needs to be done still needs to be done. The imperial physician examined Nan Zhiyun's foot injury; it was broken open. But that makes sense; the candlestick was so high, it would naturally injure her foot if it fell.
"Your Majesty, rest assured, Consort Shu's foot injury is nothing serious. A little medicine and some rest will suffice," the imperial physician replied. As for what Yu Jingchen had just mentioned about examining her head... well, the imperial physician simply couldn't do that.
"Stretch out your hand," Yu Jingchen suddenly said. The imperial physician was a little confused, but then he saw that Yu Jingchen was looking at Consort Shu. Nan Zhiyun didn't know what was going on, but she still stretched out her hand.
However, what she showed was the back of her hand. Yu Jingchen frowned slightly: "Turn the other side over."
Nan Zhiyun turned her hand over; there were abrasions on her hand, probably from the fall.
"Roll up your sleeves." Yu Jingchen didn't say anything more, he just spoke silently.
Nan Zhiyun was like an obedient little girl, doing whatever Yu Jingchen told her to do, even rolling up her sleeves.
