Chapter 60 Not loose

After Yu Jingchen finished treating Nan Zhiyun's knee wound, he had just put down the ointment when he felt a slight tug at his sleeve. He knew without guessing who it was.

"What's wrong now?" Yu Jingchen asked, looking somewhat helpless.

"I'm not leaving," Nan Zhiyun said hesitantly, as if she always felt somewhat uneasy.

Yu Jingchen sighed softly and pulled away Nan Zhiyun's hand that was pulling him away: "Don't leave. Let's check the injury on your face first. You need to apply medicine promptly."

Nan Zhiyun reluctantly let go, and Yu Jingchen suddenly found it amusing: "I said I wasn't leaving, so do you think you can run away?"

"I won't let go..." Nan Zhiyun said stubbornly.

Upon hearing her say that, Yu Jingchen suddenly felt like teasing her: "What if I insist that you let go?"

"I won't loosen my grip," Nan Zhiyun said, tightening her grip even more. Yu Jingchen was truly at his wit's end.

"I'll treat the injuries on your face," Yu Jingchen said, truly at his wit's end. The problem was, he couldn't bring himself to be fierce, and he was afraid... after hearing the imperial physician's words, he feared that a harsh tone would upset Nan Zhiyun. If the situation worsened, things would become even more complicated.

Nan Zhiyun shook her head.

Yu Jingchen emphasized "Nan Zhi Yun" slightly.

Nan Zhiyun looked at Yu Jingchen with a somewhat innocent expression. Just as Yu Jingchen was about to make his next move, Xinglai came in.

"Your Majesty, the commoner Chen has arrived at the entrance of Yajing Residence," Xinglai said, bowing his head.

Before Yu Jingchen could even say anything, he sensed something was off about Nan Zhiyun. Looking over, he saw that Nan Zhiyun's expression was unpleasant, radiating a deep unease. He wondered what the source of this unease was—was it fear of his attitude towards that person, or had today's events left some kind of trauma?

"Do you want to see me? Or rather, what do you want to do with me?" Yu Jingchen asked her.

Nan Zhiyun had only lightly grabbed Yu Jingchen's sleeve a moment ago, but now she had wrapped her entire arm around him.

"No," Nan Zhiyun said, and Yu Jingchen couldn't figure out what she meant.

"Does it mean you don't want to see me?" Yu Jingchen could only guess.

"I'm not leaving," Nan Zhiyun said.

Yu Jingchen: "..." No wonder she hugged him so tightly, but... he really wanted to ask, are you a little kid who just learned to talk? But then he thought about her mental state, so he decided not to argue with her.

"Make her kneel down to come in," Yu Jingchen said in an icy tone, causing Nan Zhiyun to shiver.

"Fearful," Nan Zhiyun tightened her grip on Yu Jingchen's arm, and Yu Jingchen yielded, bringing the two even closer. At first glance, it looked as if Nan Zhiyun was lying on top of Yu Jingchen.

When Chen Shuren entered, she was completely unrecognizable. Her headdress and outer garments had been removed, her face was swollen and red, covered in handprints, and blood was still flowing from the corner of her mouth. Because she had been splashed with cold water when she fainted on the way, she was soaked to the bone, and it was likely that her legs were now useless.

Nan Zhiyun hid behind Yu Jingchen, using his arm to shield herself, looking timid. But she couldn't help but glance at him, and what she saw made her almost unable to believe her eyes.

"What do you want to do with it?" Yu Jingchen naturally noticed Nan Zhiyun's gaze, so he turned his head slightly and asked.

What do you think it's best to calm down?
