Chapter 615 Female Rebirth: Life Outside the Palace

Hey everyone, I didn't finish the previous chapter yesterday, but I've added it today! You can take a look again. I'll be very busy lately; I just went back to school and have exams these next few days. I didn't have any final exams last semester because of the pandemic… sigh, poor me.

So updates might be a bit late recently, and there won't be many chapters, but I'll make up for it all, so don't worry. I'll be averaging 6,000 words a day. Even though there are fewer chapters, we're still meeting the word count target.

And also... I have a personal question, have you guys gotten your ears pierced? I was afraid of the pain before, so I never dared to get them pierced, but I got them yesterday, and it hurts so much today. Now they're infected, I'm so upset.

So, do I need to rotate my ears right after getting them pierced? Some people around me say yes, some say no… I'm confused. Also… when will they heal?

Ooh~

Finally, there's one more thing I want to address for everyone. Many people have been asking when the female rebirth arc will end.

Actually, I initially planned three rebirth stories: one about a female protagonist, one about a male protagonist, and one about both. The female and male rebirth stories would each be 100,000 words long and would be two independent chapters. In the female rebirth story, the male protagonist won't have memories of his past life, but there will still be some heartbreak for him later. He will eventually understand his feelings, but the female protagonist will have lost her courage. As for the ending… I'll keep it a secret for now. They might end up together, they might not, or it might be open-ended.

Later in the story, when the protagonist is reborn twice, there will be a lot of heartbreak for him. The main focus of the double rebirth arc is on tormenting him. He will have memories of all his past lives—the first, second, and third—including his current life. However, regarding his memories of his first life, I will choose the second ending. Therefore, his rebirth begins from the second ending we discussed earlier. Upon rebirth, he develops feelings for the female lead and wants to win her back, but she won't have the memories from the main story; she only feels the pain she suffered.

Therefore, they will hate the male lead. In "Double Rebirth," the male lead will be tortured from beginning to end. Those who are interested can look forward to it. Aren't many people currently criticizing the male lead? Well, let's see how he gets tortured later. If you have your own opinions, you can also offer suggestions.

This chapter is probably only another 10,000 or 20,000 words or so left, and I think it will be finished within this week. The key is that I've been quite busy these past few days. If it were during the Spring Festival, it might have only taken a few days to finish, haha, please understand.

Also, I'd like to remind you that the male rebirth story in the side stories is different from the main story. It will be presented in a special format, and the word count may be around 50,000 words. It will be finished in a week.

The novel was initially planned to be 500,000 words long, but it exceeded that, so it's now set at 1 million words. Haha, everyone can keep an eye on the word count.

And then I saw this, and I'm so grateful for everyone's support. Many of you have followed it from beginning to end, and I'm really touched, haha. It feels like a kind of recognition. I've been under a lot of pressure, afraid of letting people down later on. I wanted to write well, but I just couldn't. Sigh~ I'm still very grateful for everyone's understanding; it's a great honor to have you all here~ Thank you all! If you have any other opinions, please feel free to leave a message; I read almost every single one.

Finally, the new book is already in preparation. I originally planned to write about campus life, but there was a slight change in the process, so there will be some changes.

The new book is still a historical romance, also a male protagonist reborn, but it might differ slightly from this one. Also, regarding the question many people have about why Mr. Xiao's novel was taken down, it's because I deleted it myself. It will be revised and re-uploaded, but I'm not sure when.

There's another book of mine, which some of you may have already seen—the one by Nine Thousand Years Old. I've been on hiatus from updating that one because I've been too busy with this one. Once this one is finished, I'll focus on updating that other one. It won't be too long, only about 300,000 words. Thank you everyone!

Feel free to leave a comment if you have any other questions. I originally wanted to put these words at the end, but I was worried some people might miss them, and there's a character limit if I post them in the author's notes. Please understand...

Okay, enough of the rambling. Let's get down to business, haha.

?———?———?———?———?

Nan Zhiyun was speechless at Yu Jingchen's actions. Was he serving her while she washed up?

Nan Zhiyun was completely stunned, letting Yu Jingchen do whatever he wanted while she remained motionless, completely dazed.

Yu Jingchen did all this as if it were perfectly natural, and Nan Zhiyun only came to her senses after he had finished.

Then Yu Jingchen brought the medicine again: "Apply the medicine first, then eat." He said, and then naturally sat down next to Nan Zhiyun, holding Nan Zhiyun's feet and placing them on his knees.

Nan Zhiyun was somewhat at a loss due to Yu Jingchen's actions. Her feet were already red and swollen, and they looked even worse than yesterday.

"Is this all the good stuff you've been talking about?" Yu Jingchen glanced at Nan Zhiyun, who was feeling a little guilty and didn't dare to reply.

When Yu Jingchen started applying the medicine...

"Ouch...it hurts!" Nan Zhiyun couldn't help but cry out. It hurt so much, even more than yesterday.

"Just bear with it," Yu Jingchen said nothing more, nor did he offer any words of comfort.

Nan Zhiyun could only endure it, but she couldn't help it and had no other choice. Before long, tears were streaming down her face. Yu Jingchen noticed and was somewhat surprised: "Does it hurt that much? You're crying?" he asked.
