Chapter 617 Female Rebirth Chapter: Back to the Palace

With Qianxia's help, Nan Zhiyun sat up. Was it noon?

"Where is Father? Father is going back to the capital today. When will he arrive?" Nan Zhiyun was still thinking about this.

"The general will be back late; it will probably be dark by then." Qianxia had even made a special trip to inquire about this.

"Will we go straight to the palace?" Nan Zhiyun asked.

"I think so. Then Your Highness will be able to see the General." Qianxia naturally knew what her mistress was thinking.

Nan Zhiyun was overjoyed upon hearing the news. But... would Yu Jingchen allow her to see him?

"Where is His Majesty?" Nan Zhiyun asked.

"His Majesty hasn't returned yet, but he just sent someone to say that Your Highness should stay here, as His Majesty will be coming over for lunch soon. Also, Your Highness has an injury on your foot and shouldn't move around too easily." Qianxia said as she fell asleep.

Stay here? Nan Zhiyun felt extremely uncomfortable looking at her surroundings. This was Zichen Palace; it would be too improper for her to stay.

There was no room for her to refuse here, of course. Before long, the servants brought breakfast, but Nan Zhiyun had no appetite for it. However… she was afraid that Yu Jingchen would find out, so she forced herself to drink half a bowl of porridge.

It was said to be half a bowl, but it was really just a small amount for the two of them, which was not much different from not eating at all.

And then there's the pregnancy-preserving medicine. Nan Zhiyun felt a headache just looking at that bowl of medicine; the smell alone was unpleasant, and she simply couldn't stand it. So she didn't drink it, even though they said she had already taken the pregnancy-preserving pills, so she didn't need to drink any more medicine.

Qianxia had no choice but to let her be. Anyway, she would still have to drink later... Of course, Qianxia only dared to say this in her heart and didn't dare to say it out loud.

Nan Zhiyun's thinking was actually quite simple. The previous times she had taken the pregnancy-stabilizing pills given to her by Yu Jingchen, those were much easier to bear than this bowl of medicine. That's why she had the courage to refuse the bowl of pregnancy-stabilizing medicine.

When Yu Jingchen arrived, Nan Zhiyun felt a little guilty, but she certainly wouldn't show it on her face.

"Have you eaten?" Yu Jingchen asked.

Nan Zhiyun was still a little unsure of herself when she said, "I've eaten," but she had indeed eaten. Thinking this, Nan Zhiyun felt a little more at ease.

"What did you eat?" Yu Jingchen asked her, and Nan Zhiyun replied, "I drank a bowl of porridge."

Yu Jingchen glanced at her, but Nan Zhiyun didn't dare to look him in the eye, so she lowered her head.

"I heard you haven't been moving much, what's going on?" Yu Jingchen asked her. Nan Zhiyun moved her lips, but didn't explain, or rather, she didn't know how to explain.

"You didn't even take your pregnancy-preserving medicine?" Yu Jingchen stared at the person in front of him, feeling as if a child was being disobedient, refusing to eat or take their medicine.

"After taking that pill..." Nan Zhiyun retorted.

"That won't do either. You must also drink the medicine prescribed by the imperial physician to prevent miscarriage. Don't you know your own body?" Yu Jingchen retorted.

Nan Zhiyun was displeased, but dared not say a word. Yu Jingchen seemed to have the ability to read minds, seeing through her dissatisfaction, and raised an eyebrow: "You are very dissatisfied?"

How could Nan Zhiyun dare to express her dissatisfaction? So she replied, "Your Majesty, I understand..."

Yu Jingchen was finally satisfied, and then ordered someone to serve the meal: "Eat something in a little while. Even if you don't have an appetite, you have to eat something. There's no room for argument." Yu Jingchen meant what he said, and Nan Zhiyun would definitely not get away with not eating.

"After you eat, apply the medicine. Your foot injury hasn't fully healed yet, so you still need to continue using the medicine," Yu Jingchen said, his expression becoming much more understanding.

Nan Zhiyun lowered her head and softly hummed in agreement. Yu Jingchen could tell from her low spirits that she was still somewhat resistant to this approach.

"Just these few days, once you're better, I promise you I won't have to constantly monitor you," Yu Jingchen suddenly said. Nan Zhiyun looked at him but didn't reply.

The servants below acted quickly and brought over lunch immediately. To accommodate Nan Zhiyun, Yu Jingchen ordered all the meals to be made lighter. He carried Nan Zhiyun to the table, and Nan Zhiyun seemed to have gotten used to it by now.

The palace maids set out bowls and chopsticks for Nan Zhiyun, and the palace servants began to taste the dishes. Looking at the table full of food, Nan Zhiyun really had no appetite.

Yu Jingchen probably noticed it too, but not eating was definitely not an option, so he personally picked up his chopsticks and put some food on Nan Zhiyun's plate, but... Nan Zhiyun looked at it for a long time without touching it.

"I just ate," Nan Zhiyun said.

"The palace servants said you only drank two mouthfuls of porridge. Is that enough? Eat quickly. You don't need to eat too much, but you should eat something." Yu Jingchen's tone remained unchanged. Nan Zhiyun knew that her resistance was useless, so she silently prepared to eat the food that Yu Jingchen had put on her plate.

It's just... really hard to swallow. She has a poor appetite, and after eating, she always feels uncomfortable in her stomach.

"If you don't like the food in the palace, have someone prepare some food from outside the palace. If there's anything you want to eat, just tell the people below and have them prepare it," Yu Jingchen said.

"Hmm..." Nan Zhiyun's voice was a little muffled.

Yu Jingchen only glanced at it and didn't say much, but his hands didn't stop moving at all, and he put some more of her favorite dishes on her plate.

Nan Zhiyun forced herself to eat, but she simply couldn't finish. After only a few bites, she felt nauseous and began to vomit. Yu Jingchen frowned, and the palace servants quickly came to attend to her.
