Yu Jingchen led Nan Zhiyun to the outer room. Fortunately, they were all waiting outside, and behind them seemed to be carrying something, and more than one thing. Nan Zhiyun looked on with longing, but some of them seemed to be alive.
"Consort Shu" respectfully bowed.
"Open it for Yun'er," Yu Jingchen said, gesturing to the person behind him to lift the cloth. In the middle was a cage of small rabbits, white, gray, and black. As for the others, they looked like fur.
"When I saw these rabbits today, I was reminded of the rabbits you raised when you were little, so I had them caught. There were also a few foxes, but foxes are difficult to raise and are aggressive, so we didn't keep them. But their fur was in good condition, so we had it processed and sent over to you," Yu Jingchen explained.
Nan Zhiyun was speechless. She thought of the rabbits she had raised when she was a child. She suddenly wondered if Yu Jingchen was secretly mocking her again... After all, none of those rabbits survived.
"Are you going to cook all these rabbits, Your Majesty?" Nan Zhiyun asked "naively."
Upon hearing this, Yu Jingchen raised an eyebrow: "Shouldn't we ask our Consort Shu? Did Consort Shu find rabbit meat delicious when she ate it before? If she did, then we can use these rabbits to make dishes." Yu Jingchen then embraced Nan Zhiyun.
Nan Zhiyun: "..."
“But our Consort Shu is quite remarkable. After all, she originally had two rabbits, but later she gave birth to a whole litter of them. Although they all died, you didn’t lose out. You raised them for so long, and in the end, they all ended up in your stomach. Would you like them braised?” Yu Jingchen retorted.
Nan Zhiyun: "..." How many times has she been rendered speechless by someone's words?
“I don’t want these rabbits anymore,” Nan Zhiyun suddenly said.
"Why don't you want it anymore?" Yu Jingchen asked, knowing full well the answer.
"I don't want to eat anymore." Nan Zhiyun didn't know why she said those words.
"Is it really just for eating?" Yu Jingchen's recent new interest seems to be teasing Nan Zhiyun. When he teases her, Yu Jingchen finds it quite interesting, and he likes Nan Zhiyun so vividly and wants to cherish her.
"What if they have another litter of babies? They'll eat all the flowers and plants in He'an Palace." Nan Zhiyun hadn't expected rabbits to be so prolific when she first started raising them.
"If they really finish eating, just feed them the grapes that were just planted in Yun'er's palace. If that doesn't work, there's a huge place like the palace where they can eat whatever they want. Or, if Yun'er ever dislikes someone, she can put that whole litter of rabbits in their palace and let the rabbits eat all their food. They're imperial gifts, so only Yun'er dares to eat them; no one else would dare to do anything to those rabbits." Yu Jingchen really sounded like he was teasing a child.
Nan Zhiyun knew Yu Jingchen was joking, but she still couldn't help but feel disgusted. What was this? Was this still His Majesty?
Nan Zhiyun originally quite liked rabbits, those cute creatures, but after Yu Jingchen's words today, her gaze towards the cage of rabbits turned disdainful. However… to be honest, rabbit meat is indeed quite delicious… so many rabbits should be enough to feed her for a long time, right?
