Nan Zhiyun actually wanted to ask something more, but she couldn't bring herself to do so. Perhaps Yu Jingchen sensed Nan Zhiyun's emotions, so he released her.
"What do you want to ask?" Yu Jingchen asked.
Nan Zhiyun shook her head and remained silent. Yu Jingchen glanced at her for two seconds and then didn't ask anything.
Just then, Xinglai entered: "Your Majesty, it's time for dinner."
"Then serve the meal," Yu Jingchen instructed.
Just as Xinglai was about to leave, Yu Jingchen called him back.
"Wait a moment," Yu Jingchen said.
"Your Majesty?" Xinglai didn't know why Yu Jingchen had suddenly called out to him.
"Have someone tidy up He'an Palace later, and you can move there in a few days," Yu Jingchen said. The first part was naturally directed at Xinglai, while the second part was addressed to Nan Zhiyun.
“Yes…” Xinglai was somewhat surprised, but did not show it.
"Go and serve the meal," Yu Jingchen waved his hand.
"Yes," Xinglai said and withdrew.
Nan Zhiyun, however, seemed somewhat surprised: "Your Majesty?"
"I don't have the patience to keep putting up with your antics. Don't be ungrateful; you think you can refuse me again after I've already refused you once?" Yu Jingchen said, though he wasn't actually angry.
"This concubine dares not," Nan Zhiyun replied.
"Okay, let's tidy up and go out for a meal." Yu Jingchen stood up.
“Your Majesty…” Nan Zhiyun pulled Yu Jingchen back again.
"Hmm? Is there anything else?" Yu Jingchen asked.
"Could you ask them all to leave in a bit?" Nan Zhiyun's tone carried a hint of pleading.
Yu Jingchen quickly understood.
“There’s no one else here, don’t worry,” Yu Jingchen said. He knew that Nan Zhiyun didn’t want anyone to see her like this.
"Your Majesty, I thank you," Nan Zhiyun said with a smile.
Yu Jingchen didn't reply, but simply helped Nan Zhiyun up: "Go and get ready."
"Yes," Nan Zhiyun happily agreed.
When Nan Zhiyun came out again, the food outside had already been laid out, and none of the palace maids remained. Yu Jingchen was already seated in his place.
"Are you done? If you're done, come and sit down," Yu Jingchen said as soon as he saw the person come out.
Nan Zhiyun pursed her lips, then slowly walked over and sat down next to Yu Jingchen, but she still seemed a little too reserved.
"Make yourself whatever you want to eat. You can't expect me to serve you, can you?" Yu Jingchen said.
“Yes…” Nan Zhiyun said this, but her actions didn’t change at all.
Yu Jingchen: "..."
"Aren't you going to eat? Help yourself," Yu Jingchen gestured.
"Your Majesty has not touched his chopsticks, so I dare not," Nan Zhiyun replied.
Yu Jingchen: "..." Why did he find these words a little strange?
"Eat up," Yu Jingchen casually picked up a dish and put it into Nan Zhiyun's bowl, then started eating without even looking at her.
Nan Zhiyun looked at the dish Yu Jingchen had picked up from her bowl; it was just a fish dish. She glanced at it and then silently ate it.
However, Nan Zhiyun herself didn't really touch the fish after finishing it, only occasionally picking up a piece or two from the fish in front of her.
"Don't you like the other dishes?" Yu Jingchen asked, naturally able to tell that Nan Zhiyun was still somewhat uncomfortable.
"No, it's just that I've almost finished eating," Nan Zhiyun replied.
Yu Jingchen glanced at Nan Zhiyun's almost untouched bowl and frowned. "No appetite? Or are you feeling unwell?" Yu Jingchen asked.
