Chapter 15 [Please Add to Favorites]

Liu Lili felt a little guilty, but she had no choice but to do it for her own life.

Wu Yin had completely forgotten about Xue Rui, while Xue Rui took advantage of the three of them arguing to return to his room, look through the things he had bought at the convenience store, and tidy up a bit.

About five minutes later, Wu Yin appeared at the door. "Little Zheng, go sleep over there. As long as the doors and windows are closed at night, there won't be any problems. Plus, there are pretty girls to keep you company!"

"How about that? Haven't I been a good older brother to you? I even gave you one..."

Xue Rui gave him a deep look, said nothing, picked up the things she had just packed, and left the guest room.

Wu Yin watched Xue Rui leave the guest room in silence, receiving no response. He sneered, realizing that he had lost his new underling.

But it doesn't matter, he has a beautiful woman in his arms now, he doesn't care about anything else.

After Xue Rui came out, he saw Zhou Xuan carrying her things and brushing past him with a joyful expression on her face. She didn't even look at him, and after entering the guest room, she slammed the door shut.

Then Xue Rui heard the sound of the door locking.

At this moment, only Liu Lili remained outside. She dared not enter Wu Yin's guest room, nor did she dare return to the empty guest room. When she saw Xue Rui, she could only sigh.

In their eyes, Xue Rui's small frame was useless. Liu Lili sighed. At least there was a man around... she could feel a little more at ease.

She took two steps toward Xue Rui, and just as she was about to say something, Xue Rui, carrying his things, walked past her toward the empty guest room, then pushed open the door and went inside.

He didn't even glance at Liu Lili throughout the entire process.

Liu Lili stood there, her face contorted for a moment, but then she thought that she might still need to rely on him in the next few days, so she quickly composed herself and slowly walked towards the guest room.

She was still very disgusted and afraid of the guest room. When she got to the door, she reached out to open it, but hesitated and didn't dare to open it, even though there was already someone inside. She was still scared.

If Wu Yin were here, he would definitely come out and coax her. Even other men might take some care of the girl.

But Xue Rui loathed such women. Seeing them seducing men reminded him of his stepmother, who always acted weak and vulnerable in front of his father.

Although Liu Lili didn't dare to go in, she also didn't have the courage to go far. Hesitantly, she could only stay outside the door. Looking at the pitch black outside, with only the light shining from the windows of the guest rooms, she became more and more afraid.

She didn't care that there might have been a problem with the guest room before. At least there was someone inside. She quickly opened the door and went in. She saw Xue Rui leaning against the pillow with his eyes closed, resting. The whole room was eerily quiet, and she didn't dare to speak.

Of course, she didn't dare to go to bed to rest. In the end, she sat on the floor in a corner, feeling as if the two women who had died before were still lying in bed.

When Lin Leyou finished the banquet and was heading back, he saw someone on the road in front of the convenience store.

When this person saw Lin Leyou, he turned around and smiled at him, as if he had been waiting for him there.

Lin Leyou checked the time; it was almost eight o'clock.

"Hello, shop owner, we just met, I'm Cao Bei."

Lin Leyou certainly remembered him; he was the old woman's son, the man who had clashed with Song Ying during the banquet. "Did you need something from me?"

Cao Bei smiled and said, "It's nothing serious, I just wanted to talk to you. Do you have time?"

Lin Leyou glanced at him several times, then shook her head. "Sorry, I need to rest."

Even a fool could see that there was an irreconcilable conflict between Cao Bei and Song Ying. It might be related to the player's mission, but it had nothing to do with him.

He was just a low-key, laid-back worker. If there were benefits to getting involved, he might consider it, but if he completed the work himself, he would only get 10 points, plus the money promised by Song Ying.

Moreover, getting involved with Cao Bei is equivalent to automatically standing on the opposite side of Song Ying. Are you kidding me? His job was taken from Song Ying. If he stands on the opposite side of Song Ying, what will happen to his mission in the end?

Everything is unknown. What if the mission isn't completed in the end? The reward is secondary; the key issue is that he might be stuck in this instance and become a convenience store owner for life.

Cao Bei's lips twitched, and his smile became somewhat distorted. "Hey little boss, don't you want to know about Shangyu Village..."

Lin Leyou quickly raised her hand to stop him from continuing, "I don't want to know, I'm not interested!"

"If there's nothing else, I'll go in now. See you next time."

He didn't even wait for Cao Bei to speak before quickly walking past him into the convenience store. He then closed the door in front of Cao Bei, and the only light coming from the convenience store where Lin Leyou was located was on the dark path.

The light shone on Cao Bei's face, making him appear extremely sinister.

"Oh!"

Suddenly, a mocking chuckle rang out.

Cao Bei turned around without surprise and looked at Song Ying standing not far behind him.

Song Ying ignored his gaze and sneered, "I'm already the village chief. I'm in charge of everything in the village. It's no use whoever you recruit."

Cao Bei narrowed his eyes, said nothing, and walked towards his home.

Watching Cao Bei's departing figure, Song Ying's gaze lingered around the convenience store twice before his figure quickly disappeared into the dark night.

Lin Leyou had no idea what happened outside after she returned indoors.

I slept well all night.

Perhaps because he went to bed early, Lin Leyou woke up very early the next day. He checked the time and it was only seven in the morning. The shop would open at ten, which meant there were still several hours to go.

He thought for a moment and decided to go for a walk. For the past few decades, he had worked from dawn till dusk every day. He had no time to walk, and even his rest time was strictly timed.

Lin Leyou walked along the road and saw that some villagers were already going to work in the fields in twos and threes. Looking at the green mountains and clear waters in the distance, he felt unusually good.

He never expected to run into Cao Bei again so early in the morning.

Cao Bei, holding a large white steamed bun, greeted him with a smile, "Good morning, little boss."

Lin Leyou nodded, "Good morning."

Cao Bei seemed completely unfazed by his coldness, and instead struck up a conversation with him, "Out for a morning workout?"

Lin Leyou: "No, I still have time, so I came out for a walk."

Just as Cao Bei was about to say something, he heard the sound of something collapsing not far away, along with a woman's scream.
