Chapter 768 [(*^▽^*)]
As they talked, Lin Jiasen calmed down and realized he had indeed gone too far. "Alright, then come home with me later. Remember to give the money to your parents. You've taken so much money; you'll just spend it all..."
At this point, others also chimed in.
"Yes, kids just can't hold onto money. They always think about spending it as soon as they have it, and they'll definitely have to give it to the family. By the way, does your son have a wife yet?"
"If you don't have one, I'll introduce you to someone. Once you have a wife, you can go out and earn money, and when you come home, you'll have a place to spend your money."
Lin Leyou didn't know what was wrong, but he tightly gripped the envelope in his pocket. It was his salary from last month, a thick stack, which he felt should be six or seven thousand.
At this point in time, this salary is already quite good, but it's also hard work, so it's normal to earn more.
"Wife... I don't have a wife... I just came of age."
"Oh, just turned 18? That means you're old enough to get married. What do you think? This young man is so hardworking. If he finds a good woman, he'll have a good life in the future."
Lin Leyou's mind was a bit confused. When he talked about his wife, for some reason, a blurry figure appeared in his mind. It didn't look like a woman, but more like a man.
Lin Jiasen interjected, "What nonsense are you talking about? The child is still so young. Let him experience some hardship first, so he knows how difficult it is to earn money. Then he can get married. That way, he'll know how to treat his wife well and won't waste money."
Just kidding. Lin Jiashu told him that he's not in good health right now, his wife is an older mother, and they'll have to raise a child in the future, so Lin Leyou will definitely have to work outside to support the family.
If they get married, will this money still end up in their hands?
Besides, Lin Leyou isn't even twenty yet. She could get married in ten years. Why is she in such a hurry? It's not too late for Lin Leyou to get married after her youngest son grows up.
Lin Jiasen hurriedly stepped forward, grabbed Lin Leyou's clothes, and ran quickly ahead, leaving a group of coworkers behind in confusion.
"What's going on? It's like they don't want him to find a wife."
"Hehe, you guys don't know, but I've heard that this kid's mom is pregnant, so this older brother has to go out to work to help support the family!"
"Goodness, that's an eighteen or nineteen-year age gap, is it really going to work?"
"Why can't it work! She's pregnant now!"
"Oh dear, no wonder I'm collecting his salary on his behalf. It's not because I'm afraid he'll squander the money; I'm probably afraid he'll keep it for himself and not hand it over!"
“My eldest son is already so grown up, why do we still want another child… I just don’t understand it.”
"I don't like hearing you say that. We raised him all these years, so what's wrong with him helping out at home now?"
"Alright, that's enough. Let's go now. We need to go home today. Everyone, remember to keep your money safe."
Lin Jiashu had already brought Lin Leyou to the work shed. "Why don't you not go back? Going back will cost you travel expenses and take up your time. Why don't you just sleep and rest here? It's rare to have time to rest."
Lin Leyou didn't know why, but he felt that these words were familiar, even though it was the first time he had heard them. After thinking about it carefully, he realized that what he said was true, since it was rare to have time to rest here.
Going home requires taking a bus and transferring, and the holiday is short; I have to come back tomorrow.
But Lin Leyou sat on the bed without saying a word. After thinking for a while, he finally said, "I want to go back too."
Lin Jiashu originally just wanted to save some money. It wouldn't matter if Lin Leyou went back, since it wasn't his money being spent anyway. "Alright, pack your things and come with me. We need to catch the train quickly."
Lin Leyou subconsciously took out his backpack, which he had carried for three years in high school. Although it looked a bit dirty and old, it was still usable.
After quickly packing his things, he slung his bag over his shoulder and turned around to see Lin Jiashu's ID card in his hand. He was holding the ID card in his hand instead of putting it in his bag, apparently because he would need it to buy a train ticket later.
Lin Jiasen didn't have much to pack, and within two minutes they left together, walking to the nearby bus station to buy tickets.
Lin Jiasen bought two tickets with his own money and casually handed one to Lin Leyou, saying, "Take this. Remember to pay me back when you get back. Everyone has their own difficulties."
Lin Leyou nodded, "Okay."
He looked at the train tickets in his hand, and then out of the corner of his eye, he saw Lin Jiasen fold their ID cards together and put them in his pocket.
His ID card was facing outwards, and at the last moment, he saw his own face on the ID card.
After finding the car they needed to take, Lin Jiasen led him onto the bus and then chose a good seat by the door and window. "Keep an eye on things. I'm going to take a nap. Remember to wake me up when we get off at the final stop."
Lin Leyou: "Mm."
He sat on the outer edge of the table, and the two of them sat together and chatted. Those sitting nearby all knew that the two of them had met together.
The vehicle slowly started moving. Lin Leyou smelled the dizzying stench inside the vehicle and stared intently at the door, where passengers were constantly getting on and off.
He suddenly felt an urge to get out of the car while Lin Jiasen was fast asleep.
He wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but he always felt like he had done it before.
He didn't want to go home. In his memory, that home seemed to have turned into a cannibalistic demon, its mouth agape, waiting for him to return so it could devour his flesh and blood.
Lin Leyou turned around and looked at Lin Jiasen, who was already snoring beside her. She moved the backpack she was holding slightly to block her hand, and then quietly reached into Lin Jiasen's pocket and took out her own ID card.
The process went smoothly. He got his ID card, looked at it in his hand to confirm that it was his, and then quickly put it into his backpack.
So now all he has to do is wait for the next time the door opens, then he gets up and gets out of the car.
Those four or five minutes felt like an eternity to him, as if every second was taking away a piece of his flesh. The voices of the other people in the car seemed to turn into tangible black mist, wrapping around him layer by layer. In a place he wasn't paying attention to, a golden light flashed across his neck, and the atmosphere in the car returned to normal.
The car stopped, and the door opened.
Lin Leyou got up naturally and followed the other people who were getting off the bus. No one on the bus knew anyone else, so he got off smoothly, and the seat he vacated was quickly taken by someone else.
As he stood by the roadside watching the car slowly drive away until it disappeared from sight at the end of the road, he turned his gaze back to the unfamiliar surroundings.
What place is this?
So...where to go next?
He looked at his backpack. Inside, besides some dirty clothes, there was only his ID card and money. In addition to his salary, there was some pocket money left over from graduating from school. All of it added up to no more than 10,000 yuan.
However, this amount of money is enough for him now.
He was sitting on a chair near the bus stop when it suddenly dawned on him: why did he get off the bus? Wasn't he going home?
My mother is pregnant, and my father is in poor health. He goes out to work to help support the family.
But what happened to him before?
He couldn't quite understand why he had gotten off the bus in the first place.
So...should we go back now?
He wanted to contact his family, but then realized he didn't have a cell phone. Just as he was getting frustrated, a taxi suddenly pulled up in front of him.
"Are you leaving or not?"
Lin Leyou paused for a moment when he saw the taxi, all the thoughts that had been swirling in his mind vanished instantly. He didn't say anything, got up and got into the car.
Where are we going?
Lin Leyou immediately said, "Train station."
"Okay."
After saying those three words, he paused for a moment, wondering what he was going to the train station for.
He opened his mouth as if to say his home address, but then closed it again.
He is now completely lost, with no plans or ideas for his future, let alone going home.
He really wanted to go back and visit, but once he had that thought, he felt uncomfortable all over. It was strange, and he couldn't understand it.
Since that's the case, he decided to go to the train station first.
When he was on his way to the train station, Lin Jiasen, who was on the train, was jolted awake by the train hitting a pothole. He groggily shifted his position and opened his eyes to take a look.
He noticed that the person sitting next to him seemed a little unfamiliar, but his exhaustion prevented him from reacting immediately. Instead, he closed his eyes and continued to sleep.
He didn't know how much time had passed when he suddenly woke up, sat up straight, turned to look at the person sitting next to him, and blurted out, "Who are you?"
The other person was baffled by his question, "What? Who am I? What's it to you?"
Lin Jiasen blinked, then asked, "Where's the young man who was sitting next to me before?"
"I didn't see any young man. Wasn't the old man sitting next to you just now? He got off the bus."
Old man? What old man?
Lin Jiasen understood. Lin Leyou had gotten off the bus earlier, which was why this person didn't know what young man was. He suddenly remembered something, reached into his pocket, and finally pulled out only an ID card.
His hurried movements made the person sitting next to him panic. "What are you doing? I didn't touch you! If you dare to slander me, don't blame me for being impolite!"
Lin Jiasen hurriedly said, "No, no, nothing's missing!"
After he said that, the other person calmed down and said, "That's good."
Anyway, no matter what nonsense Lin Jiasen says, if he dares to frame or slander, then don't blame him for taking action.
Lin Jiasen looked terrible. He had just realized that Lin Leyou had already prepared to run away when he was robbing wages. What should he do now?
He took people with him to work and earn money when he left, but now that he's come back, they're gone.
How could he explain that he hadn't been watching him closely enough, and the man had stolen his ID and disappeared? Lin Leyou didn't even have a phone, meaning he couldn't be contacted at all.
