Chapter 80 [(*^▽^*)]
The other two security guards who are resting at home must also be being harassed right now, but the fact that they've survived this long means they must know that they can't go out outside of work hours.
Lin Leyou looked at the ground illuminated by the sunlight. It was indeed not a good time for him to catch and kill ghosts in broad daylight.
He slowly walked away to other places, temporarily ignoring Zhou Keke and her son, and unaware of any changes in other areas.
He wandered aimlessly around the neighborhood, and when he got to Building 1, he saw a little girl, about ten years old, running out of the building entrance.
When she saw Lin Leyou, her eyes lit up, and she rushed to him as if she had seen a savior, shouting, "Security guard!!"
Lin Leyou stood still, waiting for her to get closer before asking, "What's wrong? Is someone chasing you?"
The little girl didn't answer immediately. Instead, she stood beside her, hands on her knees, panting heavily. She looked exhausted, and something must have happened.
However, Lin Leyou was not in a hurry and decided to wait until the girl had caught her breath before speaking.
"Phew... Security guard, my mom... something's happened to my mom! Come quick!"
Lin Leyou: "What happened? Should I call an ambulance?"
The girl grabbed his hand and ran inside, but was stunned by his question. "No, no, it's my uncle! My uncle came to my house and is causing trouble. He's hitting my mom!"
Lin Leyou said, "Let's go take a look."
Since it's a matter of causing trouble in the neighborhood, there's nothing wrong with handling it yourself.
The girl lived in apartment 102, unit 2, building 1. When he entered the unit, he could already hear the sounds coming from the slightly ajar door.
A man and a woman were arguing fiercely, and there were sounds of things being smashed.
Suddenly, a woman screamed. The girl quickly released Lin Leyou's hand, rushed over, and pushed open the half-closed door. "What are you doing?!"
The arguing inside had stopped. Lin Leyou walked to the door and looked inside. A woman was lying on the ground wiping away tears. Her face, hands, and arms were covered in bruises, and there was even some blood. She must have been beaten up earlier.
The man standing to the side said nonchalantly, "What's wrong? It was just a push, nothing serious. Does a little push mean you'll be crippled? Don't pretend!"
"Mom, are you okay?"
The woman, helped to her feet by her daughter, pointed at the man's nose and said fiercely, "Get out of here right now, and don't ever come looking for me again, or don't blame me for being rude!"
The man's face darkened. "What are you doing? What's the use of a single woman like you with a child living in such a nice house? It's such a waste. Wouldn't it be perfect if you married me?"
"Let me tell you, this time it's me coming, so I'm easy to talk to. If you're not willing, next time it'll be our mother!"
Hearing their conversation, Lin Leyou roughly understood that the married daughter, for some reason, had acquired a house and was living here with her daughter.
However, her younger brother didn't have a house to get married, so he came to his sister asking for the house.
The girl pointed outside and said, "Mommy, I've called the security guard!"
Both adults looked towards the door. Lin Leyou tapped the door frame with the stun gun in his hand and pointed at the man, saying, "You better come out right now."
The man flinched when he saw the security guard, but still forced a smile and said, "I...this is my sister's house, am I okay here?!"
Lin Leyou looked at the woman, "You're a resident of this community, right?"
The woman quickly nodded, "Yes, yes! This house is mine now. My daughter and I live here. Please, please kick this person out as soon as possible."
Lin Leyou nodded, his eyes fierce. "Come on, come out quickly, or I'll have to fight you."
The man looked at the stun gun in his hand with some fear, hesitated for a moment, but finally walked out. Lin Leyou did not go in just because the door of the family was open.
After the man stepped outside, he grinned at the woman inside and said, "You just wait, I'm going back to tell Mom!"
The woman looked displeased, but she didn't respond to him. Instead, she told the security guard, "Please kick him out of the community and don't let him in again."
Lin Leyou: "Okay, ma'am."
Lin Leyou kept an eye on him the whole way. The NPC looked a bit timid, but he still obediently walked to the entrance of the community.
Lin Leyou gestured towards the gate with her chin, "Go by yourself, you don't need me to see you off, right?"
The man gritted his teeth, wanting to say something, but still walked out the door. Lin Leyou stared at his back as he walked out the door and quickly disappeared into the mist outside.
He stood there for a while, but didn't hear any sound. Could it be that he had just left the instance?
No, it's probably just temporarily gone. It will definitely reappear when the instance refreshes again.
He went to the security room and inquired about the homeowner from earlier.
Captain, “You mean that family? Her husband passed away recently. He was an only child. His parents died when he was young, and he was all alone. Now that he’s gone, all that’s left is his wife, daughter, and a house.”
"Recently, things have been really messy. The woman's family thinks it's a waste to give such a nice house to her and her daughter, so they came over and demanded the house back."
"It's really annoying. Anyway, if I see it in the future, I'll just kick it out. If it dares to throw a tantrum, I'll just throw it out. Of course... it still depends on what the homeowner wants."
Lin Leyou: "What if it disrupts the order of the community?"
Captain: "Then let's follow the rules and regulations of the community, ignore that homeowner, and just kick the others out."
Lin Leyou nodded, "Okay, I understand."
As he walked back, a woman who looked somewhat familiar approached him; she was the alluring woman in the black dress he had seen in the small square before.
Hello, sir.
Lin Leyou narrowed his eyes, glanced at her, and said nothing.
In terms of age, he's probably younger than this woman, since he's only just come of age, while she looks to be in her early twenties.
The woman smiled. "Don't be so nervous! I just have something I want to ask you."
Lin Leyou: "Go ahead and ask."
The woman said, "Oh dear, why are you being so cold? Let me introduce myself first. I'm Qin Jiao, and you are?"
Lin Leyou was about to give a fake name, but then he realized that the security team all knew his real name, and if he was exposed, it might cause some trouble.
But since the captain calls me Kobayashi, well...
"Lin Nanyue".
Let's borrow Zhou Feng's son's name. Although he's a scoundrel, his name is still nice to hear, so it'll come in handy.
Qin Jiao said, "Look, exchanging names will bring us closer, won't it?"
Lin Leyou remained unmoved. "What is it?"
Qin Jiao was somewhat dissatisfied, her tone carrying a hint of coquettishness, "You're so cold! Can't we even have a little chat?"
Lin Leyou: "I'm on work hours now."
Qin Jiao blinked. "Oh... alright then! I just wanted to ask about the person you sent out earlier. What happened? Is it still okay to leave this neighborhood?"
Lin Leyou said, "Those are NPCs causing trouble in the neighborhood. We need to kick them out. As for whether they can actually leave, I don't know. If you want to know, you can try it yourself."
Qin Jiao was stunned for a moment. A troublemaking NPC who was kicked out? Okay, okay, she knew it wouldn't be that simple.
"Oh, I see. Well then, I'll just stay in the neighborhood."
"Since you told me this, I'll tell you something."
Lin Leyou looked at her, "What is it?"
Qin Jiao slowly leaned closer to him and whispered, "It's just..."
Lin Leyou took a step back. "Just speak loudly, don't get so close!"
Qin Jiao was a little taken aback by his behavior. "Ah... alright, alright then. You're so clueless! Don't you like me like this? If you keep going like this, you'll never find a girlfriend!"
Lin Leyou was getting annoyed. What did he need a girlfriend for? Right now, the affairs of the Endless World were enough to bother him.
"What exactly are you trying to say?"
Qin Jiao said, "Oh, don't worry. I just wanted to say that when you brought him out of the building just now, I saw that the mother was actually scolding her daughter at home. It was really awful. If you go there now, you might still be able to hear some of it."
After saying that, Qin Jiao left. "Oh, by the way, don't forget to meet up at the small square around noon so we can all chat."
Lin Leyou watched her walk away before heading back to where she had been. Just as she approached the building entrance, she heard the woman's sharp curses.
She was indeed cursing her daughter, calling her a "money-losing brat" and "useless," wondering how she could have given birth to such a useless thing. She said if she had a son, she wouldn't be having such a hard time.
Lin Leyou didn't hear the child's voice. Maybe she was stunned by the scolding, or perhaps she had already gotten used to it?
He stood outside for a long time, only leaving when the woman's cursing stopped. As long as nothing happened, he, as a security guard, couldn't do anything arbitrarily.
Especially in other people's homes.
Lin Leyou is now very careful, not allowing himself to enter other people's homes casually, not even taking a single step inside, especially those who invite him in; he has to be extra cautious.
Although he didn't know what would happen after stepping inside, his intuition told him it was definitely not a good thing. The last time he stepped into Zhou Keke's house, it was only because the team leader was there.
That made him feel a little more at ease, but when he was alone, he absolutely had to stick to his principles.
Moreover, last time it used a female ghost teacher to scheme against me, this time it's a different tactic, maybe it's this mother and daughter, I just don't know how it plans to deal with me.
After lunch, Lin Leyou appeared near the small square. He hadn't found any of the players he'd seen in the square that morning, except for Qin Jiao.
