Shen Xi left the inn and called out the person who had been following Su Jin for questioning.
"Why did Su Jinxia come back so quickly?"
The person who answered smiled awkwardly, "I didn't bring any money with me when I went shopping, so I came back in a huff."
Shen Xi chuckled. "Serves you right!"
Su Jin followed him downstairs, glanced in the direction Shen Xi had left, and quickly chased after him after the waiter brought water.
Su Jin had good hearing and followed the conversation of Shen Xi and the others.
Because they were far away and it was getting dark, they were not discovered at all.
Shen Xi entered a house and went straight to the cell where Hua Hen was being held.
Two men were guarding inside, eating sunflower seeds around a small table. When they saw Chen Xi, they hurriedly got up to greet him and asked, "Is it lunchtime? Brother Xi, would you like to eat something with us first, or do you want to start the interrogation right away?"
Shen Xi said solemnly, "Let's proceed with the interrogation. Young Master cannot linger here any longer, so let's not delay any longer."
"Okay!"
The guard reached for the key at his waist, preparing to open the cell door.
Suddenly, a clear, cold voice appeared.
“Sinking into the past.”
When Shen Xi turned around, he was surprised to see Yang Jiaoruo, whom he hadn't seen for many days.
What are you doing here?
Yang Jiaoruo slightly averted her gaze and said awkwardly, "I happened to have some business to attend to here, and when I heard you were here, I came to check on you. Where is the young master?"
Shen Xi chuckled softly, realizing that Yang Jiao had come specifically to find the young master.
But he didn't point it out, saying, "Young master is at the inn, I've come to interrogate a few people."
Yang Jiaoruo hesitated, as if she wanted to say something but then stopped.
"Come here, I have something to ask you. We'll interrogate each other together in a bit."
Shen Xi raised an eyebrow, rarely seeing Yang Jiaoruo in such a coy manner.
The two of them left the room together and headed towards the courtyard wall.
Su Jin lowered her eyes, pondered for a moment, and then found the kitchen after making several turns.
An elderly woman was cooking in the kitchen, while soup simmered on a small stove.
Su Jinxia took out a small medicine packet from her bosom, quietly poured it into the soup, and stood guard not far away.
After a while, the old lady plated the dishes, divided them into several portions, and called two people to deliver them one by one.
Su Jinxia curled her lips into a wicked smile, then turned and went back to the outside of the courtyard wall.
Separated by a wall, Shen Xi and Yang Jiaoruo were talking inside.
After discussing some serious matters, Yang Jiaoruo finally couldn't help but ask, "How's that girl I asked you to keep an eye on?"
Shen Xi thought for a moment and replied helplessly, "There's really nothing particularly suspicious about her. She's a very cute girl, just a bit sharp-tongued. Young Master definitely treats her differently."
Upon hearing Shen Xi's words, Yang Jiaoruo's expression instantly turned cold.
This is the outcome she least wanted to see.
"And what about her identity?"
Shen Xi said awkwardly, "I didn't ask. Didn't the young master forbid any investigation? I..."
"Young Master won't allow you to investigate, so you won't ask? At least ask her where she's from!" Yang Jiaoruo glared angrily at Chen Xi.
Shen Xi frowned. "You investigated?"
Yang Jiaoruo's silence was taken as tacit agreement.
Shen Xi said helplessly, "You're always like this. The young master has his own plans. We should just follow his orders."
“She definitely has a problem!” Yang Jiaoruo disagreed, her face stubborn. “I checked her name and appearance, but I couldn’t find anything. It’s as if this person appeared out of thin air. This is too strange.”
Shen Xi also looked puzzled, thinking that Yang Jiaoruo's methods should have led to her having nothing at all.
The two argued for a few more minutes but ultimately reached no conclusion. They then refocused on the Liuli Society and prepared to interrogate Huahen together.
Just as the two were walking back, suddenly, a thud was heard outside the courtyard wall.
"Bang!"
Shen and Yang exchanged a glance; someone was eavesdropping!
The two quickly climbed over the wall. Outside the wall was an alley. A jar had fallen and broken, and there was a footprint on the wall on the other side of the alley.
It looks like the person climbed over into the opposite yard.
Shen and Yang chased after them without hesitation.
Su Jin watched them go to the other side from behind before climbing back into the courtyard and arriving at the prison cell.
Just then, the two guards at the prison gate had almost finished eating.
The drug took effect, and soon the two collapsed onto the table.
Su Jin took the key and opened the cell door.
Huahen showed a look of horror when he saw Su Jinxia, but he quickly came up with a plan and put on a happy expression.
"My lord, you've come! Save me! I've come to protect you!"
"Yeah?"
Su Jin lowered her eyebrows and walked up indifferently.
"Yes, Lord Qingyi was worried about you leaving alone, so he specially sent us to protect you!" Huahen's eyes widened, revealing sincerity, as if he wanted to tear his heart out to tell Su Jin that what he said was true.
"You want to live?"
Su Jin tilted her head and asked, clearly without showing any fierce expression, but Hua Hen sensed extreme danger.
"Yes, yes, of course..."
Su Jinxia gently curled the corners of her lips and slowly placed her hand on Huahen's neck.
Then you shouldn't have come looking for me!
Huahen instantly sensed a strong killing intent, and the Gu worms within his body seemed to shrink back in fear.
"I...we...we are all...people of the Liuli Society, you can't kill us! You...you...you won't..." Huahen stammered, it was unclear whether she was threatening or begging for mercy.
Su Jin chuckled softly, her eyes filled with cold indifference, a faint killing intent emanating from her.
"You don't even know who your master is, yet you dare to claim to be a member of the Liuli Society! Do you think I have no right to kill you? Or that I'm unwilling to kill you? Or that I'm afraid to kill you?"
A few traitors from outside the family also want to hinder me?
"Master, spare us! We were wrong! We were all deceived by Nie Qingyi! Please let us go!" The two henchmen knelt sincerely, crying and begging for mercy.
