Suddenly, Su Jin's eyes lit up.
"Come on, I'll take you somewhere."
As she spoke, Su Jin pulled Zhou Chen up.
Zhou Chen was powerless to resist and was dragged off the bed by Su Jin.
"Put on your shoes quickly!" Su Jin urged.
Zhou Chen would remain silent, but he would not refuse. Upon hearing Su Jin's order, he obediently lowered his head to put on his shoes.
Su Jin sighed inwardly. She saw no anger or hatred in this child, only obedience, humility, and fearlessness in the face of death.
Perhaps, in Zhou Chen's view, death is the only relief.
Zhou Chen put on his shoes and followed Su Jin out of the room, out of the Liuli Society, and into the mountains.
When he arrived, Zhou Chen was unconscious, so he had no idea that he was in the forest.
The sight he had never seen before finally evoked new emotions in him: surprise, curiosity...
Su Jin observed Zhou Chen; he was indeed bold, showing no fear whatsoever.
You know, even a strong, eight-foot-tall man would be terrified by the bizarre and treacherous forest that Liuli Mountain is teeming with poisonous creatures on his first visit.
Zhou Chen stared at everything with wide eyes, showing no fear.
The two walked all the way to Liuli Village. Zhou Chen looked at the farmhouses, the children running and playing freely, and the enthusiastic faces greeting Su Jinxia. It was as if a new world had opened up in his heart.
Zhou Chen had only ever lived in two places since he was a child: the Northern Kingdom's Imperial Palace and the Southern Kingdom's Imperial Palace. He had never known that a forest was like this, that people could actually live in a forest, and that these people looked so carefree, kind, and leisurely.
