Su Jin asked Zhou Chen in detail about his actions, his ruthless and decisive nature, and even his ruthlessness towards family members.
Su Jin was quite surprised.
Zhou Chen was soft-hearted, and Su Jinxia had always worried that he wouldn't be able to shoulder heavy responsibilities, but she never expected that his methods would be so ruthless.
After finishing his meal, Su Hu didn't stay as long as usual, but instead made an excuse and left in a hurry.
Su Jin looked at Su Hu's back thoughtfully.
The next day, Su Hu asked Mai Zizi why she had left the mountain.
Su Jin told Su Hu that she had asked Mai Zizi to buy things, and that she would return in a couple of days. She also told Su Hu to be careful and not let the young girl be bullied outside.
Su Hu knew that Mai Zizi's departure would lead to news of Shen Qianxue, and Mai Zizi's return would mean that Su Jinxia would also find out.
A few days later, Maizizi returned as expected.
Su Hu hesitated for a long time before deciding not to stop them.
Su Jinxia said that Mai Zizi would come back, but Su Hu stopped Mai Zizi, and Su Jinxia would also be anxious, which would make things more complicated.
Shen Qianxue's affair can be kept secret for a while, but not forever; Su Jinxia will find out eventually.
Su Hu, in the end, is still soft-hearted.
Sure enough, the first thing Mai Zizi did upon returning to the mountain was to tell Su Jinxia about Shen Qianxue's return to the Ji Army camp, which was why Shen Xi had not appeared for many days.
Su Jinxia looked out the window and saw Su Hu walking towards her. Su Hu also saw Su Jinxia. Their eyes met, and everything became clear.
Su Jinxia said to Mai Zizi, "Don't rush. You must be tired after traveling for so many days. Go and rest."
Mai Zizi was filled with worry. People outside were saying terrible things about Qianxue. She really didn't understand what Qianxue was doing and was very worried.
But Mai Zizi knew there was nothing she could do, so she could only say, "I understand, don't worry."
Su Jin nodded.
After Mai Zizi left, Su Hu quietly walked in.
"I know I shouldn't have kept this from you. You can hit me or scold me, but please don't act impulsively. Your health is the most important thing."
Knowing he was in the wrong, Su Hu immediately took responsibility.
Su Jin snorted lightly, "You admit your mistake quickly, but I don't see any sincerity in it at all."
Su Hu kept his head down and didn't say a word, but he was quite good at accepting the scolding.
Su Jinxia looked at his wooden-like expression and became even angrier. "Do you think that if I heard about this, I would disregard my own life and rush to his side to rescue him from Zhou Ji?"
Su Hu hesitated, not daring to speak, but that was indeed what he was thinking.
Su Jin was furious. "Brother Tiger, my life isn't that worthless!"
Su Hu's heart stirred slightly; he seemed to have overlooked something.
Su Jin said, "In the past, I risked my life for him without hesitation because I was going to die anyway, so it was worth it to exchange the little time I had left for his safety. But that doesn't mean I didn't want to live."
"If I have a chance to live, I will seize it and never give up."
Su Jin took a deep breath. "Besides, I trust Shen Qianxue. He already knows Zhou Ji's character, and he must have his reasons for doing this. In any case, it's his choice, a choice he made after knowing everything. So I respect his choice and won't interfere easily."
If Shen Qianxue knew that Zhou Ji was using him, yet still rushed to help Zhou Ji conquer the world, then he wouldn't be the Shen Qianxue that Su Jinxia knew.
Su Hu slowly exhaled. It turned out that Su Jinxia had thought things through so clearly; he had been narrow-minded.
Su Jinxia stood up and walked up to Su Hu. "I'm handing over the Liuli Society to you, so you'll have complete control over everything. I trust you, and I hope you trust me too."
Su Jin stood in front of the tall Su Hu, looking like a weakling, yet her gaze and aura completely overwhelmed Su Hu, as if she were the born king.
Su Hu's eyes welled up with tears. "I'm sorry, I understand."
There was always a shadow in Su Hu's heart, that was Su Jinxia when she was a child. She would call him Brother Little Tiger, follow him into the forest for adventures, and when she was injured, she would lie on his back and silently shed tears.
Time has passed, and Su Jinxia has long since grown into a leader whom he needs to look up to, no longer the little sister who followed behind him.
Su Jin didn't dwell on the issue any further; she knew Su Hu was just overthinking things.
"I suspect there's something fishy going on here. Send a letter to Han Qing and ask him if he's found out anything."
"Okay, I'll take care of it right away."
Su Jin nodded.
After Su Hu left, Su Jin's shoulders slumped down immediately.
She looked up at the bright crescent moon outside the window, her heart filled with unease.
Facing Su Hu, she could righteously declare that she believed in Shen Qianxue, but only she knew that she didn't.
That fool, will he be easily manipulated by Zhou Ji again? Or will he do something impulsive?
Su Jin recalled Shen Qianxue's inexplicable farewell that day and felt that something was wrong with Shen Qianxue even more.
Su Jin leaned on the windowsill, her deep unease and helplessness pouring out. She was now a useless person who wouldn't live much longer if she left Liuli Mountain. What could she do even if she was anxious?
Su Jin unconsciously gripped the window frame, her eyes slightly unfocused, and murmured, "Qianxue, can I trust you? You won't let me down, will you? We can say goodbye, but don't joke around with your own life, okay?"
Thousands of miles away, Shen Qianxue stood on a high observation platform, gazing southwards.
"Qianxue! The army has assembled, and all the generals are in place. We are just waiting for you to deploy the strategy and march out!" Zhou Ji said excitedly, standing beside Shen Qianxue.
