Chapter 169 The Money is in Hand

The Empress was devastated and demanded that Chu Heng pay with his life. In the ensuing struggle, she pushed Chu Heng's mother, who was also the Emperor's favorite concubine, to the ground. Chu Heng's head hit the corner of a table, and he died.

The emperor was furious and deposed the empress.

To compensate his favored concubine, the emperor also named Chu Heng as the crown prince and personally tutored him.

As for the Third Prince Chu Yu, he was several years younger than Chu Heng and had always been a nobody, never having a say in matters of power.

Even after growing up, Chu Yu was superior to Chu Heng in talent and strategy, but he still failed to catch the emperor's eye.

Chu Yu is like a stepmother raising a son; he's not close to him...

Su Jin raised her eyebrows, finding Chu Yu somewhat interesting.

“I didn’t come to the wrong place. There are many ways to get revenge, and I haven’t figured it out yet. I’m here to discuss this with the Third Prince. Should I beat him up to vent my anger, or just…”

Su Jin made a throat-slitting gesture, a bloodthirsty smile appearing in her eyes. "Wouldn't it be better to just kill him directly?"

Chu Yu's expression shifted slightly; he understood that Su Jin's appearance was his opportunity.

Chu Heng was incompetent, but the emperor was determined to pass the throne to Chu Heng, so how could Chu Yu be willing to accept it?

However, Chu Yu dared not act rashly and openly oppose his emperor father.

If Su Jin makes a move, then Chu Yu can sit back and reap the benefits.

"What does Lord Liuli want? Just say it," Chu Yu said directly.

Su Jinxia took a sip of tea and said with a smile, "It's so much easier talking to smart people!"

Su Jin slammed a gift list onto Chu Yu's table; it was the same one Chu Heng had sent the second time.

"Not only can I kill him, but I can also announce to the world that it was the Liuli Society that did it, so that the Third Prince will have no worries!"

Chu Yu understood immediately. He would not have any trouble. In fact, after Chu Heng died, he would become his father's only support.

However, Chu Yu chuckled and said, "Killing one person and destroying a country are not the same thing."

This gift list is far too extravagant; it's a price set out to annihilate the Northern Kingdom!

Su Jinxia shook her head leisurely, "No, to me, killing a crown prince and paving the way for the Southern Kingdom are the same, it all depends on whether I want to do it or not!"

"As for the Third Prince, the same gift list comes from the national treasury, but in one you get nothing, while in the other you get everything!"

Chu Yu's eyes narrowed; he had finally experienced the power of the Glass Master.

At the same time, he cursed Chu Heng in his heart for being such an idiot for giving such an expensive gift list!

Su Jin wasn't in a hurry and waited for Chu Yu to think it through.

After a long silence, Chu Yu made up his mind and said, "I can give you everything on the gift list, but on one condition!"

"Oh? What is it?"

"You and I must sign an alliance; the Liuli Society will forever protect the peace and tranquility of the Southern Kingdom's borders!"

Chu Yu not only considered his own interests, but also those of the country.

Su Jinxia did have a bit of faith in him, but he was being far too cautious.

"Our Liuli Society never participates in the struggles between the two countries. The Third Prince is worrying unnecessarily."

Chu Yu, however, was unconvinced. "Really? I've heard about your story with Phoenix Pavilion. Phoenix Pavilion has been making a lot of unusual moves lately."

Su Jin understood in an instant.

Chu Yu was afraid that Su Jinxia would join forces with Phoenix Pavilion to help the Northern Kingdom attack the Southern Kingdom.

Su Jin was surprised that Chu Yu knew so much; it seemed his strength was not to be underestimated.

Su Jin stared intently at Chu Yu for a long time before speaking softly, "I can only guarantee the independence of the Liuli Society. We will never participate in or assist any party. As for guarding the border, that's your business!"

Chu Yu's expression softened slightly; he was already quite satisfied with this promise.

As long as the Liuli Society remains inactive, the southern border will naturally be safe!

"Okay!" Chu Yu agreed without hesitation.

So they put it in writing, each keeping a copy, and both were very satisfied.

Chu Yu smiled wickedly, "I hope that Lord Liuli's next move will satisfy me."

The royal brothers were enemies in their past lives!

Chu Yu had absolutely no feelings for Chu Heng.

Su Jin tossed her hair, exuding confidence, "Let's wait and see."

For the sake of the treasure, this will surely succeed, and Chu Heng will surely die!

Night had fallen, and the palace was silent.

Su Jin swaggered out of the palace and walked all the way to the Crown Prince's residence.

At the gate of the Crown Prince's residence, two men dressed as guards respectfully bowed to Su Jin.

"Your Majesty, everyone in the Crown Prince's residence has been purged!"

Before Su Jin went to the Third Prince's residence, she ordered Su Hu to take control of the Crown Prince's residence.

Su Jin nodded and walked into the huge mansion. In the dark courtyard, there were guards and maids lying unconscious on the ground.

Su Hu stood in the courtyard waiting for Su Jin. When he saw her, his heart relaxed and he hurriedly went to greet her.

"Where is he?" Su Jin asked.

Su Hu smiled faintly, his eyes revealing an undeniable confidence.

He would complete any task assigned to him by Su Jin perfectly, no matter how difficult.

Everyone in and around the Crown Prince's residence fell into a deep sleep, and Crown Prince Chu Heng was dragged up from the soft couch.

"This way."

Su Hu led Su Jin down to the room where Chu Heng was having fun.

"Crunch."

The palace doors were opened, revealing Chu Heng's terrified face.

The room was filled with a strong aroma of fragrance and alcohol, which made Su Jin frown.

In the center of the room was a huge soft couch, on which several beautiful women, dressed in revealing clothes, were fast asleep.

Chu Heng huddled under the bed, his clean white nightgown covered in footprints, clearly indicating he had been beaten for disobeying.

"You...it was you!" Chu Heng finally realized who had done all this!

Su Jin chuckled softly. "So stupid! Even at this point, they still don't know who they've offended!"
