The Supreme falls, the waste awakens

The Supreme falls, the waste awakens

Amidst the chaos and nothingness, only raging energy surged like a boiling ocean, tearing everything apart. This place, deep within the "Ice Field of Eternal Silence" in the far north of the Spirit Realm, should have been a deserted place, but now, due to a shocking breakthrough, it has become the center of the storm.

Ye Li, the "Glorious Li" who commanded the almighty spirit realm, hovered at the heart of the storm's eye. Runes of laws shone brightly like a galaxy around her, and a vast, boundless spiritual power surged madly into her, assaulting the supreme barrier that had plagued countless peak-level powerhouses for millennia. Her aura steadily rose, and she had already touched the threshold of the mysterious and supreme realm. Only one step remained, and she would transcend the ordinary and attain the status of a saint, live as long as heaven and earth, and control the fundamental laws.

However, at this most critical moment, when no interruption is tolerated——

“Now!”

A bone-chilling yet familiar shout that made her soul tremble suddenly rang out, tearing through the roaring storm of energy.

The next moment, three attacks containing destructive power suddenly erupted without warning from the three directions she trusted the most and was most relaxed about, hitting the key points of her breakthrough with incredible precision!

A sword aura as blazing as the bright sun, pure and majestic, but carrying a resolute killing intent, came from her best friend who was both her teacher and friend and had been with her for thousands of years - "Saint Lord Xuyang" Ling Hao!

A strange and cold gust of dark wind, like the tongue of a poisonous snake, contains a vicious power that can corrode the soul. It comes from her junior brother, "Shadow" Mo Shang, whom she raised and taught with her own hands and whom she regards as her own brother!

The last one was a huge black net that covered the sky and the sun. Runes on it flickered, emitting terrifying fluctuations that confined space and devoured spiritual energy. It came from her most steadfast ally, the deputy master of the "Jiuxiao Temple" - Xuan Cong!

Betrayal! Unexpected, complete betrayal from the person you trusted the most!

"Why?!"

Ye Li's pupils suddenly contracted to their limit. The terrifying backlash from forcibly interrupting her breakthrough instantly caused her to spit out a mouthful of pale golden Supreme Blood. The law runes surrounding her body vibrated violently, nearly disintegrating. She stared at the three faces, now appearing extremely hideous and distorted, in disbelief. What surged in her heart wasn't fear, but rather a tearing pain and overwhelming anger.

Ling Hao's expression was complicated for a moment, then turned completely cold. "Li Zun, your existence itself is a mistake. The new order does not need two Supreme Beings."

Mo Shang's face was filled with twisted pleasure and jealousy. "Senior Sister, you are too dazzling, so dazzling that everyone else is like dust in front of you! Why? Why can you touch the Supreme Being, while I can only live in your shadow forever? Give me your Dao Foundation!"

Xuan Cong's face was expressionless, his eyes gleaming with an extreme greed for power. "The Temple only needs one voice. It's your fault, you're in the way."

The three of them joined forces, planning for a long time, and launched a ruthless and tricky attack, targeting her most vulnerable vital point when she was about to break through!

"boom--!"

The terrifying explosion instantly engulfed Ye Li. Even though she was unrivaled in combat power, her breakthrough was forcibly interrupted, and she was ambushed by three equally powerful warriors. She was instantly plunged into a desperate situation. The divine light that protected her body shattered, her meridians were torn apart by the violent energy, and her bones groaned under the strain.

"Want to kill me? You're not enough!"

A glint of madness flashed in Ye Li's eyes, a glint of pride and determination. She ignored her utterly shattered foundation and forcefully burned her innate spirit and Supreme Blood, triggering the wisp of Supreme Law she hadn't yet fully mastered.

"The universe...is in silence!"

An indescribable gray light suddenly spread out from her center. Wherever it passed, space, time, and energy seemed to be forcibly annihilated. This was a forbidden technique that was almost self-destructive!

The expressions of Ling Hao and the other two changed drastically. They retreated frantically, each of them using their strongest defensive magic weapon, but they were still hit by the light of annihilation. They vomited blood and were seriously injured, their eyes filled with horror and fear.

However, the price was enormous. Ye Li's body began to disintegrate from within, her spirit rapidly dimming like a candle in the wind. Her vision blurred, and the last thing she saw was the three men's frightened, then ugly smiles of relief, and a fragment of a broken ancient mirror quietly emerging from Xuan Cong's hand. The aura of that fragment was surprisingly the same as the mysterious fragment she had accidentally obtained in her early years, but had never been able to comprehend!

"Reincarnation...Mirror..." A vague thought flashed through his mind, and was then swallowed by endless darkness.

Before her consciousness was completely annihilated, she felt a surge of resentment and an utter unwillingness! After thousands of years of companionship, treated like brothers, yet power and greed were no match for her! She hated it! She hated her own blindness! She hated the injustice of heaven! She still had so much to do, so much vengeance to avenge, so much to achieve! How could she die like this?!

Just as her last bit of consciousness was about to be assimilated by the darkness, deep in her soul, the broken lens obtained from ancient ruins, which had been silent all this time, suddenly trembled slightly, imperceptibly.

A weak but incomparably tenacious stream of cool air flowed out, like the gentlest cocoon, instantly wrapping up her soul that was about to collapse, resisting the tearing of the external space-time turbulence and the final backlash of the power of annihilation.

The next moment, her remaining soul was dragged by the lens and suddenly fell into a strange passage filled with chaotic space-time forces, and she completely lost consciousness...

Cold, bitingly cold.

Pain, pain everywhere.

Weak, as if the soul has been drained away.

This was Ye Li’s first feeling after regaining consciousness.

She struggled to open her eyes, but her eyelids felt heavy as a thousand pounds. Her ears were buzzing, and chaotic fragments of memory rushed into her nearly splitting skull like a flood.

"Ye Li... a branch of the Ye family... both parents dead... a worthless person... meridians blocked... qi sea like gravel..."

"My cousin Night Wolf...beat me...stolen my monthly allowance...severely injured...almost dying..."

"Waste...rubbish...why don't you just die...you're bringing shame to the Ye family..."

"Humiliation... despair... no one cares... cold..."

That was the memory of another "Ye Li," the brief and tragic life of a humble, pitiful, and humiliated girl. The despair and pain in that memory were so real that they threatened to drown out her pride in belonging to "Li Zun."

The soul violently repelled this strange, broken body. Every inch of skin, every meridian wailed, as if being torn apart by two completely different beings. The supreme imprint of the soul's origin was incompatible with this mortal, useless body, bringing suffocating pain.

"Heh..." She almost sneered, but it only affected the wound in her chest, causing her to cough violently, and a strong smell of blood surged in her throat.

Think of her, Ye Li, who has roamed the spirit world for thousands of years, standing at the top of all living beings. Has she ever suffered such humiliation? Has she ever felt the powerlessness of an ant?

A surge of hatred, like magma, seethed and boiled within her. Ling Hao! Mo Shang! Xuan Cong! And the man behind the scenes! She remembered this! As long as even a shred of Ye Li's soul remained, she would avenge this vengeance!

But the next moment, the absolute composure of the Supreme suppressed her surging emotions. Anger was useless, and resentment could only destroy her sanity. She had to survive. Only by surviving could she realize infinite possibilities.

She began to use her powerful spiritual power to look inside her new body with difficulty.

The situation was worse than expected. Most of the meridians were clogged and twisted, thin as gossamer threads, and filled with impurities. The Qi Sea was even more pitifully small, barely able to store spiritual energy, dried up and cracked. All of the internal organs had varying degrees of damage, and one or two ribs seemed broken in the chest... This was a body that had been sentenced to a spiritual death sentence.

Yet, as she assessed this hopeless situation, the broken lens that had saved her life stirred again, deep within her soul. A cool breath, even fainter than before, flowed out, quickly soothing the intense repulsion between her soul and her body. Her aching brain regained some clarity, and her chaotic memories gradually fell into place.

Although her body was still in tatters, at least her consciousness was completely clear and stable.

"The fragment of the Samsara Mirror..." Ye Li muttered to herself, burying this gratitude and doubt deep within her heart. This object was the key to her rebirth, and it must also contain a huge secret.

Just then—

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The simple wooden door was slammed so roughly that it almost fell apart. A sarcastic woman's voice sounded outside, full of impatience and contempt:

"You dead piece of shit in there! Are you still breathing? Humph, why are you pretending to be dead? Young Master Wolf told you to be smart and hand over that piece of broken iron you picked up last time! Otherwise, next time it won't be as simple as breaking your ribs!"

Another obscene male voice echoed, "That's right! A loser like you is worthy of taking things? Hand it over quickly, and you can suffer less physical pain! Don't waste my time!"

The scolding and ridicule of the evil slaves were like cold needles, piercing his ears.

Ye Li slowly opened her eyes.

What kind of eyes were those? No longer the timid, desperate, and murky ones that had once belonged to this young girl. Instead, they were like a bottomless pool of ice, cold and sharp, imbued with the sedimentation of a thousand years of vicissitudes and a lingering trace of the terrifying majesty of the Supreme Being.

Despite her extreme weakness and the excruciating pain everywhere, her eyes were terrifyingly calm.

The original owner's memories told her that outside the door lay a vicious slave who had been bullying her for years, commanded by her so-called cousin, Night Wolf. The "broken piece of iron" seemed to be the only relic left by the original owner's parents, which she had secretly hidden, but Night Wolf discovered it.

The intense resentment and unwillingness were left by the original owner, but at this moment, this emotion was like fuel, burning quietly in her cold heart.

She took a deep breath, causing a sharp pain in the wound on her chest. But she paid no attention to it. She tried very slowly and with all her might to summon the last bit of strength in her body. Her fingers bent with difficulty and touched a slightly loosened piece of wood on the hard bed beneath her.

Outside the door, the shouting and cursing continued, as if she was just an ant that could be trampled on at will.

The corners of Ye Li's lips curled up into a very faint, yet icy arc.

Ants?

Soon, you will know who the ants are.
