Chapter 102 Crying in His Arms

The figure gradually walked into the light cast by the lighthouse on the sea, and the shape and face became clearer and clearer.

The man was wearing a long black coat over a suit and a tie.

He walked towards me through the wind and snow, his broad shoulders covered with a thin layer of white snow.

Backlit, the shadows made his handsome face appear even more defined and sculpted, with thick eyebrows, deep-set eyes, and tightly pursed thin lips.

He had a cigarette between his fingers.

I blinked, confirming that he was indeed the last person I wanted to see right now—Fu Yanshen.

He must have come here specifically to kick me when I was down.

But how did he know I was here?

I suddenly remembered that three years ago, when my family forced me to marry Shen Yu, I also drove to G City alone and sat by the sea drinking alone.

That night, my family, friends, and Shen Yu all came looking for me, but only he, my bodyguard, found me.

As the man drew closer, I bit my lower lip, which was swollen from the effects of alcohol, and braced myself for defense.

"Don't come any closer, Fu Yanshen, the last person I want to see is you..." I wanted to yell at him, but the words that came out were choked with sobs, and tears flowed uncontrollably.

My face was covered in tears, my heart was clenched, and I was in so much pain that I couldn't breathe.

He is the person I care about most, and also the person who looks down on me the most. Now, in front of him, I don't even have the last bit of pride left.

The more I thought about it, the sadder and more upset I became. I grabbed the bottle next to me and tilted my head back to gulp down the strong liquor.

The spicy, strong whiskey burned my throat and traveled down to my stomach.

This burning pain is better than the feeling of sadness.

A familiar masculine scent mixed with a faint smell of tobacco approached. I blinked away my tears, tilted my chin up, and saw that Fu Yanshen was already in front of me.

He looked down at me, exuding a cold aura, his dark and deep eyes shimmering with a hint of heartache.

How could he possibly feel sorry for me?

I forced a self-deprecating and bitter smile. "You came all the way from the capital just to see me make a fool of myself and kick me when I'm down, didn't you?"

As soon as I finished speaking, my nose stung, my vision blurred again, and my heart ached.

Fu Yanshen was clearly taken aback. He frowned and looked at me silently.

I tried to pour him more wine, but he forcefully snatched the bottle away.

"Don't drink anymore."

Fu Yan said in a deep voice, threw the bottle onto the beach, and then grabbed my arm and pulled hard.

My body crashed into his warm, hard chest. His arms wrapped around my waist, lifting me off the rocks, his warm, unique scent enveloping me.

I was stunned for a moment, and then I remembered my background. A wave of despair washed over me, and I twisted and struggled.

"Let me go, the last person I want to see is you... You're just here to laugh at me..." I struggled, but buried my face in his chest, inhaling his scent, and cried out in a hoarse voice.

I verbally rejected him, but my arms were tightly wrapped around his waist as I cried in his arms, venting my sadness and grievances.

At this moment, I really want him to comfort me by saying: "Sheng Qiaoqiao, apart from your background, you are excellent in other aspects as well."

But that's impossible.

He always only saw me as a substitute for Shi Jin.

That made me even sadder.

He must despise me even more now.

Thinking back to how I felt so confident to marry him because of my status as a rich young lady, my heart ached even more.

Fu Yanshen didn't say a word, but simply wrapped my body, which was frozen stiff like an ice sculpture, in his coat and held me tightly with his iron arms.

I was unable to move and had no strength to struggle.

At the beach, the cold wind was biting. I hunched my shoulders and buried my face in his chest, my breath filled with his warm, familiar scent.

His thunderous heartbeat pounded in my chest, and I couldn't help but hug him tightly. Remembering that I was a fake heiress, I started sobbing again.

In his arms, I felt a little comforted.

As the whiskey took effect, my consciousness became increasingly hazy. I didn't know how long I had been crying; I only felt a sharp pain in my head, my whole body was cold, I was trembling uncontrollably, and my teeth were chattering.

Fu Yanshen seemed to be carrying me horizontally on the beach, his coat covering me, and snowflakes kept falling on my cheeks.

He stopped and gently brushed the cold snowflakes off my cheek with his warm fingertips. In an instant, everything went black before my eyes.

He covered my face with his coat.

“Fu Yanshen, I’m cold…” I said in a trembling voice.

A chill ran through my body, making my scalp tingle. I lost all reason, saying whatever came to mind, forgetting that I was already divorced from him.

And for now, I'll forget that I'm a fake heiress.

A little while later, we seemed to get into the car. The car was very warm, and Fu Yanshen held me tightly, but I still felt cold, and my teeth kept chattering.

I caught a cold and have a fever.

Fu Yanshen took me to a five-star hotel and booked the presidential suite.

At this moment, I lay in bed, wrapped tightly in a thick quilt, with my eyes closed, my whole body tense, enduring wave after wave of chill that seeped into my bones.

A force pushed against my back forced me to sit up.

"Open your mouth and take your medicine," came the man's harsh voice.

I gritted my teeth and shook my head.

I won't take it; the medicine tastes bitter.

A sudden pain shot through my jaw, forcing me to tilt my head back. Before me stood a cold-faced man, his hand gripping my jaw, forcing me to open my mouth.

He put a capsule in my mouth.

Looking at his cold and fierce appearance, and remembering how he had imprisoned me before, I was so frightened that I backed away repeatedly, staring at him as if he were a devil.

"Come and have some water," he said, frowning unhappily.

I shook my head, shrank back, and looked at him timidly and defensively.

The man looked at me, his chest heaving. He gritted his teeth, pinched the bridge of his nose, and looked like he was helpless against me.

He carried a water glass and walked around the bed. Just as I was about to dodge, he grabbed the back of my neck. He sat down beside me, put his arm around my shoulder, and said, "Drink the water and swallow your medicine."

His tone was harsh, and his arm gripped my shoulder tightly. I was afraid he would get rough with me, so I obediently drank most of the water.

After taking the medicine, I curled up in bed. In my hazy state, the bed slumped, and the man lifted the covers and got into bed, embracing me from behind.
