Chapter 117 Fu Yanshen's Self-Harm

Lin Xiao frowned, took a breath, and then spoke: "President Fu has suffered some kind of shock. He locked himself in his hotel room and began to harm himself. He is also irritable and won't let anyone near him."

Did Fu Yanshen harm himself?

I gasped in shock, and asked in alarm, "How could this happen? He was perfectly fine before..."

"This is the first time I've seen him like this. This morning, I forced someone to break in, but he smashed me out with a vase as soon as I entered. The room was dark, and I could vaguely see blood on his white shirt." Lin Xiao lowered his eyes, recalling the events as he spoke.

Listening to his words, I clenched my hands tightly, my fingertips digging deep into my palms.

“I consulted a mental health professional, and his condition could be depression or borderline personality disorder. It’s still uncertain what the specific illness is. All I know is that he has very poor sleep quality and often asks his doctor to prescribe sleeping pills.”

Lin Xiao let out a breath and said with great distress.

Fu Yanshen has a mental illness? How come I didn't know that before? I've never seen him self-harm.

However, I had previously seen sleeping pills on my bedside table.

I suddenly remembered that he had a pain phobia.

That time I bit him until he suffocated, he still managed to have an aroused orgasm; he was injured by shrapnel on his back, but he didn't feel the pain of having the shrapnel dug out without needing painkillers; and he even felt good when I scratched his wounds...

He really was sick.

“Miss Sheng, Mr. Fu is in a very dangerous situation. If we can’t calm him down, he will commit suicide!” Lin Xiao’s expression became increasingly serious, and his tone was anxious.

Upon hearing this, I suddenly recalled what Shi Xia had told me the night before she died. She said that Fu Yanshen used to be withdrawn and misanthropic, not allowing anyone to get close, except...

"Go find Shi Jin, only she can calm him down." I quickly told Lin Xiao the truth, while a slight soreness rose in my nose.

“I sent someone to pick up President Shi last night, she should have arrived by now. However, President Fu keeps mentioning your name, so I've come to invite you to come and see her as well.” Lin Xiao glanced at his watch as he spoke.

He looked at me again, his eyes pleading.

Fu Yanshen called my name?

I suddenly remembered that before, after he fell asleep, he would call me, and I would feel a dull ache in my chest, a feeling I couldn't quite describe.

Thinking that he might commit suicide, I didn't hesitate and followed Lin Xiao straight to the hotel where Fu Yanshen was.

He was staying in the presidential suite the night we arrived.

As soon as I entered, I saw Shi Jin in the outer room of the guest room. She must have just arrived, as she was without makeup and looked travel-worn.

I instinctively looked at the door to the inner room. The walnut-colored wooden door was slightly ajar, the lock had been pried open, revealing a hole.

Two bodyguards in black suits stood guard at the door of the room.

"How is he doing now?" I asked the bodyguard captain in the outer room.

Captain: "Miss Sheng, Mr. Fu has been quiet for a long time. Miss Shi just arrived, so we're going in to take a look."

There's been no movement for a long time, could there be any danger?

Will he...?

My heart sank, and I dared not think any further.

"Why are you here?" Shi Jin walked up to me, raised her eyebrows, looked me up and down, and asked.

He looked down on me.

I ignored her.

“When Ah Shen was five years old, his only support, his mother, left him and passed away… We orphans are all rootless, but he only depends on me and only wants to be close to me.”

Shi Jin looked at me, a slight smile playing on her lips, her eyes filled with a hint of smugness and pride.

What time is it? Is she showing off her importance in Fu Yanshen's heart?

She doesn't need to show off, I know that.

"Shi Jin, hurry up and go find him." I had no time to argue with her about love, so I urged her on.

Shi Jin scoffed lightly. With composed steps, she tossed her medium-length hair and walked towards the door.

After she went in, she closed the door. I couldn't see what was happening inside, so I wasn't sure if Fu Yanshen was alive or dead.

"Smack!"

Suddenly, a sound of something breaking came from the room, followed by a scream of "Ah!" and the door was pulled open.

"Get out!" came a man's furious growl from the room.

Shi Jin rushed out, clutching her forehead. She looked panicked, her brows furrowed, and she appeared to be in great pain.

"President Shi, is President Fu still very irritable?" Lin Xiao walked up to her and asked anxiously.

"He's gone mad, he has no sense at all, he doesn't even recognize me, he hit me with an ashtray!" Shi Jin said sadly, her voice trembling with tears.

It seems that Fu Yanshen is really quite ill, even Shi Jin can't comfort him.

"Lin Xiao, hurry up and call the doctor!" I stepped forward and offered my opinion to Lin Xiao.

Lin Xiao looked troubled. "President Fu's private medical team is on its way, so he can't just go to the doctor."

"Miss Sheng, please go in and give it a try!" he urged me again.

"Why call her in? Ah Shen is the last person who wants to—" Shi Jin stopped mid-sentence, giving me a disdainful look.

"ah--"

Just then, a man's painful yet restrained groan came from inside the room. My nerves tightened, and I involuntarily took a step forward, heading straight for the door.

A pungent smell of smoke and alcohol wafted out from under the door; he must have drunk and smoked a lot.

I took a deep breath and pushed open the door.

The room was pitch black, with all the blackout curtains drawn, and the thick smoke stung the eyes.

A ray of light shone through the crack in the door, and I could vaguely see a figure crouching against the wall. In the dim light, the gleaming blade emitted a silvery-white light.

A sharp knife was pressed against a tanned arm, slowly slicing through the skin...

Seeing this scene, my heart ached, and I strode forward.

"roll!"

The man raised his head and roared fiercely.

He deftly reversed his grip on the knife hilt, the tip pointing at me, his eyes bloodshot and his whole being filled with malevolence.

A beam of light shone through the crack in the door and fell directly on him.

He tilted his chin up, his eyes vacant and unfocused as he stared at me.

His appearance resembled a stress response after being injured.

Fierce and violent, it's actually a form of defense.

"Fu... Fu Yanshen... I am Sheng Qiaoqiao... Please put down the knife, okay?" I asked cautiously, lowering my voice and coaxing gently.

“Joe, Joe…” His dry, cracked lips moved, and a mechanical voice came from deep in his throat.

He didn't attack me.

I felt a little relieved, took another step forward, and slowly squatted down to look him in the eye.

"Yes, I am Sheng Qiaoqiao..."

Looking at the bloodstains on his white shirt, my voice became hoarse. On his arm, there were several fresh wounds, crisscrossing each other.

It turns out that many of the scars on his body were left by himself in this way.

Fu Yanshen's empty, dark eyes gradually regained their sparkle, and he looked less tense.

Taking advantage of his momentary lapse in guard, I immediately grabbed his wrist. "Fu Yanshen, let go, put the knife down!"

With a clang, the dagger fell to the ground.

I breathed a sigh of relief, but then my body was suddenly pulled by a strong force, and I crashed into the man's hard chest.
