Fu Yanshen clenched the unlit cigarette, crushed it in his palm, and walked towards me, the faint, bitter smell of tobacco floating in the air.
"Sheng Qiaoqiao, are you trying to shake Jin'er's position in my heart?" He walked up to me, glanced at me, a mocking smile on his lips, and asked coldly.
The implication is that he believes whatever Shi Jin says.
He wanted to avenge the prosperous era for Shi Jin.
I knew I couldn't persuade him, but for the sake of my parents who raised me, I couldn't help but speak up:
"Fu Yanshen, you used to trust Shi Xia so much, and what happened? You trusted Shi Jin so much, yet you retaliated against the Sheng family without investigating the matter thoroughly. Aren't you afraid of indiscriminately killing innocent people?"
As soon as I finished speaking, Fu Yanshen's face suddenly darkened.
"Who told you to compare Jin'er with Shi Xia?" he said with displeasure, his dark eyes piercing me like knives. "For Jin'er's sake, I would rather kill indiscriminately than let one of them escape."
He meant that even if Shi Jin was lying, he was willing to take revenge on the Sheng family for her.
He didn't think about me at all. They were my adoptive parents, his former in-laws, and his benefactors.
His actions further prove one thing: he has no feelings for me.
I blinked repeatedly, drying my tears, and looked indifferently at the man in front of me, who was completely different from the man I had been a few days ago. He was as cold and indifferent to me as before, and I gave a self-deprecating smile.
I despise myself more than I hate him.
I took one last look at him, turned around, opened the study door, and walked out.
As soon as I stepped outside, two tears rolled down my cheeks.
With each step I took, every joint in my body ached. Remembering my initiative last night, I dug my fingertips deep into my palms.
Back in my bedroom, I quickly washed up and packed my suitcase.
As soon as I stepped out of the room, Fu Yanshen's bodyguards helped me with my luggage. My passport and ID card were with them, so I couldn't fly back by myself. I had no choice but to bite the bullet and get into his car to go to the airport.
Throughout the journey, I kept looking at the scenery outside the car window and didn't glance at Fu Yanshen once.
Once on his private jet, I put on an eye mask to catch up on sleep. In my hazy state, I felt very cold, so I hunched my neck.
A little while later, someone covered me with a blanket, wrapping me up from my neck down, but I still felt cold, especially in my chest.
In my dreams, I see sweet scenes from the past two days.
The sweeter it is, the more it hurts.
The feeling of being pampered and cherished by him, only to have him suddenly let go, is the most agonizing.
In my dream, I cried my heart out. In my hazy state, someone was wiping away my tears with gentle, delicate movements, like a feather caressing my wounded heart.
I pulled off my blindfold; there was no one there. My face was tight, the result of dried tears.
In the luxurious cabin, Fu Yanshen was sitting to my right, with his back to me, typing on his computer.
I turned to look out the white, misty porthole, feeling lost and uncertain about the future. How could I help my parents through this crisis?
A delicious aroma of food wafted over, and a flight attendant pushed over a food cart, asking me what I wanted to eat. I simply asked for a glass of warm water.
I can't eat anything right now.
"Still thinking about helping your fake parents?"
A man's voice came from beside me. He sat down in the seat next to me, but I ignored him.
"You've poured your heart out to them, but they've only been thinking about using you, especially your fake mother." Fu Yanshen's deep voice came again.
I turned my head angrily, glared at him, and didn't say a word.
There's no point in arguing with a heartless, inhuman orphan like him.
"How stupid," he sneered at me. "You should think more about yourself!"
I rolled my eyes at him and pulled down my blindfold.
After a long flight of more than ten hours, I landed, got my documents, pulled my suitcase, and led the way out of the VIP channel.
As soon as I stepped out of the turnstile, a familiar woman's face came into view.
Shi Jin.
She was wearing a long, crescent-white down jacket and a plaid cashmere scarf around her neck. When she saw me, she gave me a look of disdain.
Her expression seemed to say: Knowing three is being treated as three.
Yes, I did the thing I despise most.
She initially consulted a gynecologist and tried every means to avoid Fu Yanshen's advances, but on the last night, she was blinded by love and took the initiative to kiss and seduce him.
"Ah Shen!"
Shi Jin looked away from my face and saw her beaming as she jogged toward Fu Yanshen, who was walking behind me.
I didn't turn around to look at them even once.
Soon, I got into the ride-hailing car that was picking me up, and parted ways with Fu Yanshen's Maybach.
...
When I returned to my parents' house, I was filled with guilt and shame as I faced my mother's disappointed eyes.
"That Fu Yanshen really has no feelings for you at all! You've lost both your wife and your money, really! Now Shengshi's stock price has plummeted even further!" Mom said angrily.
"Mom, I never imagined it was him who set me up and lured me into this trap. He insists that you and my brother ruined Shi Jin's life, and he won't stop because of Shi Jin." I hugged her and gently patted her back.
"Hmph! That piece of junk, and he treats it like a treasure!" Mom said viciously.
Hearing her words and seeing her fierce expression, I was stunned.
I quickly came to understand her.
Shi Jin is clearly a scumbag, but she plays the victim in front of Fu Yanshen to get him to take revenge on my family. Of course, my mother is furious and hates them.
"Mom, is there any other way? How about we let the company go bankrupt, and you and Dad can keep some money as an early retirement, okay?" I gently persuaded her.
I'm afraid my father will suffer a heart attack from anger like he did in my past life, and my mother will be framed and imprisoned. Now, the prosperous era can't be saved, but I want to save them.
