Chapter 156 Just Trust Me

"I won't let this Shen Hanxing get away with this! Unless she comes out and obediently sleeps with me! Damn... this little bitch!"

As soon as I entered the private room of the restaurant, a strong smell of alcohol hit me, accompanied by the foul and arrogant cursing of a man, which stimulated my nerves.

The private room was crowded with people. In the center, a middle-aged man with a beer belly, a face full of fat, and a face that was flushed red and purple, with five fingers adorned with gold and jade rings, was covering his head, with a white towel in his hand stained with blood.

He is Mr. Mo, the big boss of the production company.

"Mr. Mo, please calm down. It's just that little girl who's being unreasonable. She's threatening suicide inside. If she really dies, it will be a huge problem!" the producer of the film crew reassured Mr. Mo.

Did Shen Hanxing commit suicide?

I tensed up and immediately squeezed into the crowd. "Director Du, where is Hanxing?"

Director Du looked worried and pointed to the closed door of the private room.

"You, you're Shen Hanxing's manager?"

"You'd better persuade her to submit to me, otherwise—"

Mr. Mo yelled at me, but before he could finish speaking, I grabbed a wine bottle and smashed it hard on the ground at his feet.

With a loud crash, the bottle shattered. Mr. Mo took a step back in fright, looked up, and glared at me menacingly.

"You son of a bitch, dream on!" I glared at him, spat at him through gritted teeth, and walked toward the door to the inner room.

Everyone gasped.

"You, you, you just wait!" Mr. Mo's threatening voice came from behind me, but I ignored him.

"Mr. Mo, you should go to the hospital quickly, don't delay and worsen your injury," Director Du advised Mr. Mo.

"Hanxing?" I turned the doorknob and called softly.

"Don't come any closer!"

As soon as I pushed open the door, the girl's shrill voice came through, faintly trembling and sobbing.

I looked in the direction of the sound.

The girl stood in the corner, her white dress stained with blood. Her blood-covered hands gripped the neck of a broken wine bottle, its sharp, jagged spout pointed at her own throat.

Her face was covered in tears, her hair was disheveled, and she looked so pitiful and pathetic.

I approached her and gently comforted her, "Hanxing, don't be afraid, it's alright now."

"Don't come any closer! You're all in cahoots! You'll definitely dump me on that investor! I'd rather die than sell myself!" Shen Hanxing yelled at me, her voice trembling with emotion, and as she spoke, she tried to stab herself.

"Hanxing! I won't do that! Calm down!" I quickly urged.

The young girl didn't believe me; she thought I was the kind of agent who would send artists to be exploited by capital.

"You would! I'm just a nobody, a nobody with a whole host of scandals. How could you possibly offend the investors and the production crew for me? I won't compromise... Back in high school, my classmates spread rumors about me, they put birth control pills in my desk drawer and framed me, saying I was a prostitute..."

"To prove my innocence, my mother knelt down and kowtowed to the principal..."

“For my mother’s sake, I would never accept the unspoken rules! No matter how poor or difficult things were, I would rather drink until my stomach hemorrhage than sell myself…”

Shen Hanxing tearfully recounted her story to me in grief and indignation, tears streaming down her face as she finished speaking.

This girl, who was determined to protect her innocence, was embroiled in scandals, with accusations that she was a socialite and prostitute during her school days...

"Hanxing, the reason I signed you was because I sympathized with your situation. I know you were wronged, and I also value your acting talent and your hard-working and ambitious character. During this time, I have been trying to find a way to help you turn things around."

"I won't let you accept the unspoken rules. I just said some harsh words to that Mr. Mo, and I'm not afraid of offending him. Trust me, okay?" I approached her and gently persuaded her.

“Shen Hanxing, every time President Qiao visits the set, she specifically tells me to hone your acting skills. How could she possibly harm you?” At this moment, Director Du’s voice came from the doorway.

Shen Hanxing looked at me with a flickering, wary gaze, then glanced at Director Du at the door, her tears flowing uncontrollably.

Gradually, she let go, and her body slid slowly down the wall, sobbing softly.

I took off my suit jacket, walked over, and bent down to drape it over her shoulders.

I helped her up, wrapping my suit jacket tightly around her trembling body.

"Sister Qiao... I'm sorry..." Shen Hanxing cried, her voice extremely hoarse, revealing immense grievance.

I hugged her and gently patted her back. "It's okay, just trust me."

Shen Hanxing leaned on my shoulder and cried even louder.

"He...he forced me to drink and tried to kiss me. I hit him, and he dragged me into this room, trying to rape me...I was so desperate I wanted to die..." she sobbed as she recounted her grievances to me.

I suddenly remembered that I had experienced something similar before, and my nose stung with tears. I clenched my fists tightly.

"Hanxing, believe me, things will be alright," I said firmly, word by word.

With my comforting words, Shen Hanxing gradually calmed down.

I put my arm around her and walked to the door.

"President Qiao, I'm sorry, I had no choice but to take good care of her. However, I sent you a video, please remember to check it."

Once we were in the outer room, Director Du whispered to me.

Shen Hanxing is out socializing tonight, and I spoke with Director Du beforehand, asking him to look after the young lady.

He had no choice in the matter, I can understand.

After all, film crews rely on investors for their livelihood.

I embraced Shen Hanxing as we left the private room and entered the elevator.

Before I even left the restaurant, I noticed with alarm that a paparazzi van was parked on the side of the road, and not far away, a familiar Maybach was parked.

The back door opened, and a man in a suit got out of the car and stood by the door, as if waiting for me.

He was Fu Yanshen, whom I hadn't seen for quite some time.

The paparazzi will definitely follow my car in order to get an exclusive.

I covered Shen Hanxing's face completely with my suit jacket, then embraced her and we quickly left the restaurant, went down the steps, and headed straight for the Maybach.

I helped Chen Hanxing into the car. Fu Yanshen stood at the door and gentlemanly reached out to shield me from the door frame.

I got on the bus quickly.

I gave her the address of Shen Hanxing's residential area and contacted her assistant.

As expected, the paparazzi didn't dare to chase Fu Yanshen's car, and the journey was unimpeded.

Shen Hanxing suffered a minor hand injury; the wound wasn't deep. After I treated it briefly, she took a shower, took a sleeping pill, and went to sleep.

I instructed her assistant to watch over her and take care of her before returning to Fu Yanshen's car.

He sat down next to me, poured some warm water from his thermos, and handed it to me. "Want some water?"

The man asked gently.

"Thank you," I said calmly as I took it.

My mouth was dry, so after drinking most of the cup, I put down the paper cup, leaned back wearily in my chair, and closed my eyes to rest.

I was going to lie down tonight, but Director Du called me out at the last minute. After going through that whole ordeal, I felt completely exhausted, and gradually, I fell into a deep sleep.

In a daze, the man's warm breath filled my nostrils, and a tingling, itchy sensation spread from my lips...
