"Not eating anymore?" He looked up, met my gaze, and asked softly.
Me: "Mmm, I'm full."
He reached across from me and took my bowl, saying, "I'm not full yet."
He barely glanced at me before picking up his chopsticks and pouncing on his food like a hungry wolf.
His dark blue silk robe accentuated his aloof and noble demeanor. Despite being a billionaire, he was enjoying a bowl of plain noodles, which was leftovers from me.
I frowned as I watched him pick up the half-eaten fried egg from my plate and put it in his mouth.
"Don't you mind the drool?" I blurted out.
Fu Yanshen raised his pale, handsome face, his brows furrowing slightly. "Your saliva... what's wrong?"
He asked softly, then picked up another noodle, "It's not like you haven't eaten before. Don't drool over it, yours—"
"Eat your noodles!" I quickly interrupted his ambiguous words, my cheeks burning.
"You were the one who brought this up first." He said in a slightly displeased tone.
I rolled my eyes at him.
At that moment, his gaze lingered on my face, and a smile visibly appeared at the corners of his mouth. "Are you hot?"
I met his ambiguous gaze.
"The air conditioning isn't even on, of course it's hot," I said quietly.
He pursed his lips, lowered his head, and seemed to be secretly smiling.
I calmly got up, walked to the cabinet air conditioner, picked up the remote control, and turned it on.
Fu Yanshen devoured all my leftover rice, not even leaving a drop of soup.
They look like African refugees.
The heavy rain outside shows no sign of stopping. The forecast indicates that this once-in-twenty-year downpour will continue until three or four in the morning.
It seems I'm really not going anywhere tonight.
As soon as I went upstairs, Fu Yanshen came out of the master bedroom. "The bath water is ready. Go take a shower. It's getting late."
He spoke to me gently.
I am really tired.
I took a bath towel and Fu Yanshen's bathrobe into the master bathroom. The luxurious double bathtub was filled with bubbles. After taking off my clothes, I casually tossed them into the washer-dryer combo.
I have no clothes left, and I'll have to wear them tomorrow morning.
After taking a bath, washing my hair, drying it, and hanging the clothes to dry, I finished the bath.
I returned to the bedroom wrapped in an ill-fitting bathrobe that almost dragged on the floor.
The medieval European-style chandelier emitted a warm yellow light. The man leaned against the headboard, holding a book in his hands, his expression focused and serious.
"Qiaoqiao, where are you going?"
He seemed to only notice me when I was almost in the center of the bedroom, and his deep voice came from behind me.
"Guest room," I replied without stopping or turning my head.
"The guest rooms have been unoccupied for a long time and haven't been cleaned," he said loudly again.
"I don't care, as long as I can sleep." As I spoke, I opened the door, left those words, and strode out.
Just as I was about to close the door, a hand reached in through the crack, and Fu Yanshen's tall figure appeared in the doorway.
"What are you doing?" I frowned and asked coldly.
Remembering his previous masturbation, I couldn't help but become wary.
During the two or three days he was hospitalized, he had a high fever at night and was weak. Although he always clung to me and held me, he never did anything inappropriate.
Now that I've almost fully recovered, it can't be...
“The guest room isn’t clean, you go sleep in the master bedroom, I’ll sleep here.” Fu Yanshen looked down at me, appearing very sincere.
I was slightly taken aback; it wasn't what I expected.
"Me, sleep in the master bedroom? Mr. Fu, do you think that's appropriate?" However, I didn't appreciate the offer and asked in a low voice.
It's been over two years since we got divorced, and I don't want to come back to this "home" anymore.
Fu Yanshen was speechless for a moment after being silenced by my words, and looked at me helplessly.
I gripped the doorknob, and just before closing the door, I remembered something: "Don't sneak into my bed in the middle of the night again."
With a "bang," I slammed the door shut and locked it.
They moved another chair and blocked the doorway.
I remember when we were going through a divorce, he would always manage to sneak in silently in the middle of the night, even if I locked the door.
Now, I guess I wouldn't dare to do it again.
The guest room did look like it hadn't been occupied for a long time; the bed wasn't even made. I found sheets, a light blanket, and a pillow in the closet, quickly made the bed, and lay down.
I slept soundly until dawn, and the chair by the door remained unmoved.
After the rain, the sun came out.
When I changed my clothes, washed up, and went downstairs, Fu Yanshen had already prepared breakfast, which was from a Cantonese teahouse that I used to love.
He was wearing dress pants and a white shirt. I instinctively looked at his calf. "How's your leg injury?"
Fu Yanshen pulled out a chair for me. "There's no more bleeding. Thank you for your concern."
The man's burning gaze was tinged with amusement.
I tossed my hair and looked at him. "President Fu hired a famous doctor for Mu Ye and caught the murderer for him. It's only right that I care about you. It's a matter of repaying kindness in kind."
The smile on his face gradually froze.
As soon as I finished speaking, I pursed my lips and, before sitting down, politely said, "Thank you."
"Sheng Qiaoqiao, you—" The man's irritable voice came from above my head, and his hand covered the top of my head.
"Fu Yanshen! Don't you dare pull my head!" I immediately shouted.
He did let go, but then he flicked my head hard.
I winced in pain and glared at him as he sat down opposite me.
The man's face was dark and he didn't even glance at me, continuing to drink his water.
He looked very angry.
I ignored him and picked up my chopsticks to eat the translucent shrimp dumplings, enjoying my breakfast in a cheerful mood.
After dinner, I left him and rushed to work.
I didn't see him for the next few days.
