Chapter 186 Slay His Heart

Makino froze, stunned by my glare. His eyes gradually reddened, his Adam's apple bobbed, and his pink lips twitched as if he wanted to say something but couldn't.

He looked like he had been wronged.

“I will handle this.” I said again, this time in a much gentler tone, giving him a reassuring look.

"Yeah, I'm going to revise the lyrics." He said casually, head down, and turned to go upstairs.

In the huge living room, only Song Sinan and I remained.

"This kid looks harmless, but when he gets impulsive and reckless, he can be quite wild," I said to him with a faint smile.

However, Mu Ye's impulsiveness and recklessness were only directed at Fu Yanshen.

Song Sinan stood up, looked at me gently, and smiled, "The more you care, the easier it is to lose control, right?"

His sudden remark left me momentarily puzzled.

My mind is preoccupied with many things, and I don't have the time to ponder this sentence carefully. Right now, I need to finish dealing with my resignation before I can proceed with starting my own business.

The company's HR manager is busy changing jobs, and there has been no response regarding my contract termination.

"Sister Qiao, have you received your salary this month? The company won't swindle us out of our wages before it goes bankrupt, will it?"

Mengmeng, who just got a permanent position this month, sighed and said this when she saw me.

When she mentioned salary, I realized that I hadn't received my salary for this month.

The group's crisis has gotten so severe that they can't even pay their employees' salaries...

"Sister Qiao, I heard you're also going to run away with Mu Ye and Han Xing?" Tongtong, the girl in the publicity team, came over and asked me.

I frowned. "Who's telling you this nonsense?"

I've kept this a secret all along; how did she find out?

Tongtong: "It was revealed by that blogger who wears a hood and often chats about gossip in her live stream. It's gone viral online!"

I:"……"

"With top stars like Mu Ye and Han Xing gone, isn't our company doomed? I'm leaving as soon as I get my salary this month!"

More employees gathered around, whispering amongst themselves.

"What are you doing? Don't you have anything to do?!" At this moment, a stern male voice rang out.

Lin Xiao, whom we hadn't seen for many days, walked in from the doorway at the end of the corridor. He looked serious and stared at the gathered crowd.

At that moment, another tall and imposing figure stepped in from outside the door, bringing with him a powerful and oppressive aura.

"Yes, yes, it's President Fu!"

"Hurry up, get to work..."

When the girls saw who it was, they all gasped in shock, and then scattered like birds.

Fu Yanshen walked straight to the president's office, and Lin Xiao called out to me:

"Manager Sheng, please come to the president's office later."

"Okay," I nodded in response.

Back in my office, after collecting my resignation application and other materials, I went to the CEO's office without a moment's delay.

The HR director has absconded, so I can only ask President Fu Yanshen to help me with the contract termination.

Before he even entered the office, a surprise attack came from Lin Xiao.

"How could you run away at this critical juncture? President Fu is now besieged on all sides and all alone. You, the person he cares about most, are also running away. You are destroying his spirit!"

Hearing Lin Xiao's words, I tightened my grip on the documents.

"Lin Xiao, that's just wishful thinking on his part. I have no obligation to share hardships with him, do I?" I tugged at the corners of my lips and raised my voice to ask.

"I didn't ask you to suffer with him, and he's not going to let you suffer with him either, but... can we please not stab him in the back at this crucial moment? Grandma! Do you know how difficult things are for him right now—"

Before Lin Xiao could finish speaking, the door to the president's office opened from the inside.

"Lin Xiao, what are you babbling about?" Fu Yanshen's slender figure appeared in the doorway. He said coldly, then looked at me and said, "Come in."

As soon as the words left his lips, he turned around.

Lin Xiao sighed softly and left.

Judging from his words and expression, it is clear that Fu Yanshen currently has no solution to the crisis.

Holding the documents, I strode to the office door and gently knocked on the open door.

After going inside, I casually closed the door behind me.

The office looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time; a bonsai fiddle-leaf fig in the corner had withered, yellow leaves and exuded an air of decay.

Just like this company.

On the desk, files were piled up like a mountain.

Fu Yanshen stood with his back to me by the huge floor-to-ceiling window. He had lost a lot of weight in the two weeks I hadn't seen him. The mechanical watch on his left wrist was noticeably loose, and the dial was drooping.

"Mr. Fu, you wanted to see me?" I broke the silence and called out.

Fu Yanshen turned around, his gaze sweeping over me indifferently. "I just returned to the country and heard about your resignation."

He spoke calmly, without revealing any emotion.

"Yes, I plan to start my own brokerage firm after I resign," I replied truthfully.

Fu Yanshen nodded. "You brought all the documents? I'll take care of the formalities for you."

He approached me.

It has a refreshing minty scent, just like the taste of nicotine nicotine gum.

"I brought them all."

I handed him all the documents.

Fu Yanshen took the documents and walked to the desk, sat down, took out a pen from his shirt pocket, and signed one document after another.

"Mr. Fu, according to the agreement I signed with the company, I have to pay the company a penalty of 50 million yuan for leaving the company. I will transfer this money to the company account within one month."

I spoke calmly to him from across the table.

Fu Yanshen looked up at me expressionlessly. "I'll have Lin Xiao write a statement later, and I won't charge you this penalty for breach of contract."

After he finished speaking, he lowered his head and signed the document.

I frowned, unsure of what to say for a moment.

"Didn't you recently sign three new boys? Take them with you, along with other artists, anyone you think is valuable."

"If there are any people in the company who are easy to use, you can take them with you."

After signing, Fu Yanshen put the pen cap back on, leaned back in his chair, tilted his even thinner chin slightly, looked up at me, and had a faint smile on his lips.

Hearing his words, my brow furrowed even more. "I'm taking everything with me. Are you giving up on this company?"

But as soon as I said it, I realized it was nonsense. With top stars like Mu Ye and Shen Hanxing gone, the company wouldn't have any big-name artists left, so there was no point in trying to save it.

I felt a little guilty.

Fu Yanshen seemed to ponder for a moment before speaking again: "I've never been interested in the entertainment industry, so I'll just shut it down."

He spoke of it casually.

"Do you have enough start-up capital?" he asked again, pulling out a checkbook from inside his suit jacket.

I was taken aback.

"Mr. Fu, I have the funds," he said in a deep voice after regaining his composure.

He can barely take care of himself, why would he give me money?

The man walked up to me and said, "Then... consider it a congratulatory gift. I wish you a successful opening and great success in your business, Ms. Qiao."

After he finished speaking, he smiled faintly and handed me the document.

Upon hearing this, I took the document, opened it, and found a transfer check inside, for a total of one hundred million.

I looked at him in surprise.
