Chapter 194 He's capable again.

He looked incredulous.

The world seemed to stand still, silent and still, with only the faint smell of rusty blood remaining.

I don't know how much time had passed, but I blinked and looked at his still bleeding hand, and gasped.

Fu Yanshen snapped out of his daze, his dark eyes glistening with moisture. "Why did you come back?"

He asked casually.

I ignored him and stood up.

Just as I was about to take a step, Fu Yanshen hugged me tightly from behind, his hot chest pressed against my back, his chin resting on my shoulder, and his entire weight leaning on me.

It was as if she depended on me completely.

His rapid breathing gradually calmed down, but his embrace became tighter and tighter, and I almost suffocated. "Fu Yanshen, let go. I'm not leaving now. I'm going to get the first-aid kit."

I said, panting, as I pushed his head off my shoulder.

He loosened his grip on me slightly, but before I could break free, he pulled me close again, burying his face in my neck and inhaling deeply, savoring my scent.

It was like an addict's fervent and obsessive craving for drugs.

I didn't break free from him. I closed my eyes and let him hold me intimately.

In the silent space, only our breathing and his thunderous heartbeat remained.

For a very long time, long enough that his hand stopped bleeding, he slowly released me, and his breathing and heartbeat gradually calmed down.

I understand that his depression is over.

"I'll go get the towel," I said softly.

"Mmm," he responded softly.

I grabbed a towel, turned on the tap to wet it with warm water, walked up to him, took his wrist, and gently wiped the bloodstains from the back of his hand.

The injury was located at the joint, and there were still small pieces of glass and wood chips stuck in the skin and flesh, which was heartbreaking to see.

The white towel was stained red. When it was accidentally touched, he didn't even flinch. He was still the same as before, seemingly oblivious to pain.

It took four towel washes to clean his hands, leaving only the raw, bright red wounds.

In the bedroom, Fu Yanshen sat on the sofa. I opened the medicine box, took out iodine and gauze, and bent down to clean his wound.

He stretched out his arm, reached over a footstool, placed it behind me, and gestured for me to sit down.

After I sat down, I carefully cleaned his wound, applied iodine, and wrapped it with gauze.

While he was doing all this, I knew that his gaze never left me for a moment.

I packed up my medicine box and went to the side cabinet.

Fu Yanshen walked to the bedside.

A short while later, his phone kept beeping with text message notifications, indicating that it had just been turned on.

Just then, a phone call came in.

"Lin Xiao—"

It was Lin Xiao calling, and he went to the balcony outside to answer it.

I checked the time; it was getting late, and I should head back.

After Fu Yanshen returned, I raised my voice and gave him these instructions:

"Don't get it wet again, you'll get infected and then you'll get a fever again. Your body is like this—" Before I could finish speaking, thinking of his heart, I stopped.

Fu Yanshen stared at me with his deep eyes, walking towards me step by step. When he reached me, his Adam's apple bobbed. "You knew everything about my health at the hotel last time..."

As he spoke, his voice grew increasingly hoarse, and his words carried a blush-inducing ambiguity.

He was just depressed and downcast, how come he's like this now...?

I suddenly remembered that I had called him a few times before I came, and I had also called Lin Xiao to ask him. He must have heard something from Lin Xiao and knew that I didn't come here on my way.

I swallowed hard and gave him a forced, calm glare.

Fu Yanshen grabbed me and pulled my chin up, asking, "What do you mean? Are you dissatisfied with my performance last time?"
