It sounded like someone was calling. I frowned and strode towards the sound.
After walking several dozen meters, Shi Jin came down from the mountain. She was humming a song, her hands behind her back, looking very happy.
"Shi Jin! Did you hear that sound just now?" I asked her.
"What was that sound? I didn't hear it." She looked completely bewildered, then glanced at me and walked down the mountain.
I wanted to turn back, but my heart was pounding.
"Help--"
A painful cry came from the foot of the mountain. My heart tightened, and I ran to the edge of the cliff in one breath. Looking down, I could vaguely see a person hanging from a boulder halfway up the mountain.
"Someone has fallen off a cliff!"
I yelled and, without hesitation, walked down the path on the hillside towards the mountainside.
As I approached the boulder, I realized that the person who had fallen off the cliff was none other than Madam Ouyang.
“Alice!” I called out her English name.
"Help……"
I ran over in one breath and watched as her hand loosened its grip on the edge of the rock.
"don't want!"
As I gasped, I ducked down and grabbed her wrist tightly with one hand, while my body was pulled down by her weight.
When I was half-suspended in mid-air, someone suddenly grabbed my clothes from behind.
"Miss Sheng!"
For a moment I didn't know who was calling me; my mind was completely blank, and I only had one thought: hold on to her.
We dared not relax for even a moment.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw two men in black drag Ouyang and me up together.
Blood trickled from her forehead, her brow was covered in fine sweat, and a camera hung around her neck. She sat on the ground, her phoenix eyes staring at me unfocusedly, her pale lips moving slightly. The next moment, she collapsed onto me.
It seems she has fainted.
"Miss Sheng, are you injured?" the bodyguard-looking man asked me with a serious expression.
Still shaken, I was breathing heavily when he reminded me that I seemed to have no feeling in my right arm at all.
