Chapter 235 interweaves Fu Yanshen's perspective

The ambiguous and sweet atmosphere in the hotel's presidential suite had not completely dissipated, and the room was so quiet that only their breathing could be heard.

Fu Yanshen sat on the edge of the bed. Before Sheng Qiaoqiao woke up, he carefully lifted her fair and slender left hand, held his breath, and put the blue diamond pigeon egg designed by her favorite jewelry designer, Ouyang, on the ring finger of her left hand.

This time, she wasn't woken up, nor did she pour cold water on him.

He was truly relieved.

Every time he was filled with anticipation only to be met with a cold shower from her, the feeling of disappointment could leave him depressed and fearful for a long time.

He was afraid, afraid that she really wouldn't want him anymore.

If she really doesn't want him anymore, what's the point of him living?

He grew up watching his mother being murdered, which made him despise the world. For him, living was an extremely painful thing.

Until I met her.

A flamboyant and radiant young lady in a red dress, with an absolutely stunning face, swaggered through the streets, her beautiful black eyes always brimming with smiles.

She barged into his world headlong, clinging to him and always calling him "Little Fu, Little Fu."

She was always full of enthusiasm and curiosity about this world, and she even dragged him along to experience it.

Whenever he saw her, he felt that the world was still somewhat beautiful.

He gradually realized that being alive wasn't so bad.

Later, because of her, she was willing to "jump off a building" to divorce him. He thought she wanted to be with Song Sinan. He thought she had never loved him and that he was just a substitute for her male god.

Actually, he had always doubted whether she truly loved him.

He has believed since childhood that no one will truly love him.

He made up his mind to die.

In the room, Fu Yanshen's gaze was fixed on his and Sheng Qiaoqiao's intertwined fingers. The blue diamond on her ring finger sparkled, contrasting beautifully with her fair skin, making him hold his breath.

This scene was exactly what he had imagined when he was lying in the operating room and having his heart removed.

At that time, he desperately wanted to survive.

He wanted to put a wedding ring on her finger, to see her in a wedding dress, to hold a grand wedding, to make it up to her, and to continue to protect her.

Later, he really did come back alive. The first thing he did when he woke up was to run back to find her and reunite with her.

She, however, was cold and indifferent to him.

He thought that the words he said before he died had hurt her and made her give up. He told her that those words were not what she truly meant, but she remained heartless and refused to be with him no matter what.

Later, he finally learned that when she called him on the night he went abroad to die, she was begging for help... It turned out that she had gotten pregnant that night in London, and they had a child, which was lost on the night he went to die.

She even attempted suicide by cutting her wrists because of this...

No wonder she was so heartless when she saw the wound on his chest.

She should hate him!

He also hated himself for not protecting his lover and child. How was he any different from his biological father?

But fate is cruel; if he hadn't died that night, she would have been the one to die.

Her heart was more suited to Ye An'an.

He wanted to protect her silently, but he couldn't.

He had barely survived so that he could be with her, so after she became less resistant to him, he went to great lengths to create opportunities to spend time with her.

No matter how much she discouraged him, even when he was besieged on all sides and she resigned to start her own business, he never complained about her; he believed it was all his due.

He was filled with hope again as long as she showed him even a little care.

Fu Yanshen carefully took off the diamond ring again. He knew that she still loved him and cared about him, but she hadn't gotten over the loss of her child. When he tested her before and asked her to "take responsibility," she laughed it off, which meant she didn't want to get back together.

He put the ring on her finger like that, and now she'll be conflicted and in a difficult position again.

...

Last time I slept with him after drinking, he tried to put this diamond ring on my finger while I was asleep, but I caught him red-handed.

Now, here we go again...

I was about to withdraw my hand when I was stunned by his seemingly infatuated and affectionate appearance.

His gaze seemed to be fixed on our clasped hands, a joyful smile playing on his lips. His Adam's apple bobbed, and his eyes were deep in thought.

After an unknown amount of time, Fu Yanshen finally came to his senses. He slowly took off the diamond ring and put it into the dark blue velvet box.

I closed my eyes tightly and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Although I still love and care about him, I haven't thought about remarrying him or have any enthusiasm for living with him.

She might even wonder, deep down, whether she should get back together with him.

If I get back together with him, will fate punish me again?

The children we lost are like a warning to me.

Even though it was the last day of her period, and even though he had a tubal ligation, she still got pregnant, and then miscarried...

A single tear rolled down my cheek, and my throat tightened with a lump.

Fortunately, after I got up, Fu Yanshen didn't mention anything about me taking responsibility for him. He carried me, who was feeling weak all over, to the bathroom.

They squeezed the toothpaste onto my teeth and filled the water container; they practically brushed my teeth for me.

Even while I was brushing my teeth, my arms were still aching terribly, and I glared at him through the mirror.

Last night he acted like he hadn't had sex in ages, trying all sorts of positions to torment me, and he came twice before.

What's infuriating is that he looks refreshed and full of energy.

However, despite all that trouble, his heart seemed perfectly fine, which put my mind at ease.

After washing up, the waiter brought the hotel's signature dishes. It was already late afternoon, and I couldn't tell if it was lunch or dinner.
