When Fu Yanshen arrived at the north gate of the film and television city, he only found Sheng Qiaoqiao's cell phone. He thought that he had fallen for the other party's trick of luring the tiger away from the mountain. Perhaps, Sheng Qiaoqiao had already been taken away from the south gate or the west gate!
...
When I regained consciousness, I was lying limply on the bed.
The first thing you see is a pure white gauze curtain, edged with romantic French lace, and the air is filled with a faint, fresh woody scent, mixed with a hint of sea salt.
It has both a sweet and edgy flavor, like a perfume I used to frequent when I was a teenager.
Guess who I am?
When that sentence suddenly popped into my mind, I regained full consciousness and sat up abruptly as memories of being drugged in the film set's restroom flooded back.
The person who drugged me is the one who imprisoned me in a past life...
I was like a frightened bird, my whole body tense, my fists clenched, looking around warily, my body instinctively backing away until my back was against the headboard.
The room's decor and furnishings are becoming increasingly familiar to me.
A pristine white princess bed, silk satin bedding trimmed with French lace; on the bedside table, next to a vintage European-style lamp, sits a Doraemon alarm clock; diagonally opposite, against the wall, a vase holds my favorite cut sunflowers…
This room is almost exactly the same as the room I lived in when I was a child at the Sheng family's house.
My mind was buzzing, and I swallowed hard, vaguely guessing who it was.
Just then, the door was pushed open from the outside, and I held my breath.
When I saw the handsome and refined face of the person who came, I was shocked, and my soul trembled.
It really was... Sheng Beichen.
The person who imprisoned me in my past life... it really was him.
I clenched my fists so tightly they cracked, gritted my teeth, and stared straight at the man who was slowly walking towards me.
He wore a gentle, harmless smile, dressed in a beige sweater over a denim shirt, looking mild-mannered and refined. He was still the obedient, sensible, and endearing younger brother I remembered.
"Sister, you're awake. You've been sleeping all night, are you very hungry? I personally stewed some bird's nest."
He placed the tray on the bedside table, squatted down on the edge of the bed, looked up at me, and spoke gently.
Human face and animal heart.
Looking at him, I thought of that word, and only then did I belatedly realize that those annoying and harassing text messages were all sent to me by him.
"Smack!"
I raised my hand and slapped him across the face with all my might. "Sheng Beichen! You disgust me!"
He covered his face, looking at me with a good-natured expression, "Sis, I just love you, what's wrong with that?"
like?
He has truly tarnished the word "love".
I ignored him, threw off the covers, ran barefoot towards the door, opened it, and rushed out.
Sheng Beichen watched Sheng Qiaoqiao rush out, a smile playing on his lips. He rubbed his numb and aching cheeks before slowly standing up to go find her.
It's about finding, not chasing.
Because she can't escape.
I ran downstairs in one breath, rushed to the door, and tried to open it to go out, but I couldn't open it no matter what I did. In the huge mansion, all the curtains were drawn, and I couldn't see the outside world.
I'm also certain that this isn't the Sheng family home. Apart from that room being the same as the one I had when I was a child, all the other decorations and furnishings are different.
With his hands in his jeans pockets, Sheng Beichen walked down the spiral staircase unhurriedly. "You can't get out, and people outside can't get in."
His slightly amused voice echoed in the vast space.
"This is the home I spent two years building for us. The first floor has a kitchen and dining room, the second floor has a bedroom and a study, the third floor has a screening room, a gym, a billiards room... and there is a glass conservatory on the roof... allowing us to live and entertain ourselves without leaving home."
As he drew closer, his smile widened, and his eyes seemed to brimming with happiness as he spoke.
I understand; he means to imprison me here.
It's clearly a cage, yet it's given the fancy name of "home".
He's really crazy.
"Sheng Beichen, I've always treated you like a younger brother. Can you please wake up? There are plenty of women who like you, why are you forcing me! I will never love you!"
I yelled at him.
His smile froze, and he looked very hurt as he strode closer to me.
Sheng Beichen came up to me, bracing himself against the door with one arm, pulling me into his arms. "Why won't you love me? What kind of spell did that scumbag cast on you? Have you forgotten how he treated you before?"
He looked annoyed, pinched my chin, and pressed his handsome face down.
I raised my hand and slapped him again.
"Even without Fu Yanshen, I would never like you! Let me go!"
I pushed him away and said sternly.
Sheng Beichen covered his face, his eyes were bloodshot, and his chest heaved, looking both angry and hurt.
"Sister, from childhood to adulthood, I've always considered you my only one. My eyes and heart only have room for you... But you, you like everyone you meet, you're nice to everyone, you even like little white rabbits, little flowers and grass..."
"Do you know how I felt when I saw you caring about them? I wanted to kill them all, so that you would only see me and care about me!"
A few steps away, a cold smile curled at the corner of his lips. "That little white rabbit you raised, I killed it with one knife, one by one..."
Upon hearing this, I clenched my fists even tighter.
An image of a four-year-old boy, dressed in a tailor-made suit, handsome and refined, floats into my mind. He is feeding carrots to a white rabbit with me, his fair hands timidly stroking the rabbit, his big, dark eyes revealing curiosity and joy...
