Chapter 240 Counterattack

"Get out!" I felt utterly disgusted.

Just then, a loud bang was heard, and it seemed that the door had been kicked open.

I sensed a palpable murderous intent.

The next instant, the weight pressing down on me disappeared, and Sheng Beichen was forcefully pulled off me.

I quickly clutched my torn clothes. In my line of sight, a man wearing a long black trench coat, exuding an aura of domineering power, was grabbing Sheng Beichen's collar and slamming his iron fist into his face.

He raised his long leg again and kicked Sheng Beichen in the stomach, his expression gloomy and ruthless.

Sheng Beichen was kicked and staggered backward, his slender figure crashing into the dresser. He bent over, clutching his stomach, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

I got up.

The tall, imposing man turned and walked towards me, his deep black eyes fixed on my face.

Seeing him arrive just in time, I was reminded of his "absence" in my past life, and my throat tightened.

Fu Yanshen came to the bedside, bent down and wrapped his coat in front of me to cover my disheveled clothes.

The unique, crisp woody scent emanating from him, mixed with the aroma of hormones, enveloped me, warmed by his body temperature.

His large hand covered the back of my head, gently rubbing it to soothe me.

"It's alright now."

The man's voice was warm, deep, and magnetic; my heart fluttered. I nodded, then, remembering something, added:

"Fu Yanshen...our child was lost because of him that night!"

I choked back tears and poured out my grief to him.

Upon hearing this, Fu Yanshen's face darkened abruptly, his eyes visibly reddened, his thin lips pressed into a tight line, and he exuded a terrifying aura of ferocity.

"Fu Yanshen! Watch out!"

Suddenly, Sheng Beichen had a samurai sword in his hand. He gripped the hilt with both hands and slashed at Fu Yanshen's back. I cried out in alarm.

Fu Yanshen saw this scene through the mirror in the bedroom. As he turned around, he raised his long leg and kicked Sheng Beichen's wrist.

The katana in his hand clattered to the ground.

Sheng Beichen took a few steps back, his scarlet eyes fixed on Fu Yanshen, and he beckoned to him provocatively.

Fu Yanshen was still immersed in Sheng Qiaoqiao's words: their child had been murdered!

Seeing Fu Yanshen lost in thought, Sheng Beichen clenched his fists and launched a series of attacks at him.

The first punch landed precisely on his nose, and he dodged the next hook.

He stepped on the tip of the katana with his toes, kicked it up, reached out, and deftly caught it, gripping the hilt.

He stared at Sheng Beichen, his face filled with murderous intent.
