I chuckled to myself.

He stopped my dad from hitting me, acting all rude to my dad, but he was just putting on a show for my dad.

He put an ice pack on my face because it was swollen and looked bad, and it bothered him.

A large tear fell onto my off-white silk dress, and I dug my fingertips deep into my palm.

In an instant, I felt incredibly frustrated again.

Divorce is not as simple or as easy as I thought.

I never expected that Fu Yanshen would be so capable so soon after taking office.

He used to be a delinquent who didn't even finish high school, wandering the streets of nightclubs, fighting and killing every day, struggling at the very bottom of society.

In my past life, I had a romantic bias towards him, and the first time I saw him, I felt that he was no ordinary person.

I glanced sideways at him. He was holding his phone in his other hand, his thumb constantly swiping, his brow slightly furrowed, his expression serious and focused, as if he were handling official business.

He has always been a workaholic.

"Fu Yanshen, you said that divorce is a matter between the two of us."

"I am determined to get a divorce. There's no point in us dragging this out."

I broke the silence and spoke calmly to him.

Upon hearing this, Fu Yanshen put down his phone and turned to look at me.

A smile played on his lips as he brushed aside the stray hairs on my cheek with his fingers, gently caressing them as if playing with an object.

"Young lady, you're tired of me, but I'm not...you."

He spoke in a magnetic voice, his tone playful.
