Chapter Ninety-Six: Would Young Master Rong feel sorrow for the death of anyone?

However, he certainly couldn't say this directly. He lowered his eyelids, curved his lips slightly, and smiled gently, saying, "I just happened to be passing by and saw someone under the tree who looked somewhat familiar, but I never expected it to be a young lady. It seems we are destined to meet. May I ask your name, young lady?"

Zhu Jiayu looked at him and smiled innocently, "My surname is Zhu, and my given name is Jiayu, the Jiayu of 'Jiayu in the south'."

Rong Heng nodded: "So you are Miss Zhu. My surname is Rong, and my given name is Heng." After speaking, he asked, "May I ask what Miss Zhu is doing here?"

Zhu Jiayu said, "I'm just taking a look, isn't that right, Young Master Rong?"

Rong Heng chuckled: "Of course. A chance encounter is worse than a formal invitation. Miss Zhu, why don't you join me for a walk?"

Upon hearing this, Zhu Jiayu smiled gently. She was beautiful and radiant, and with a white flower in her hair, her smile was both captivating and somewhat strange.

She asked Rong Heng, "I'd like to know, would someone like Young Master Rong feel sorrow for the death of someone?"

Rong Heng looked at Zhu Jiayu and frowned in confusion: "Why would Miss Zhu ask such a question?"

Zhu Jiayu lowered her head and chuckled softly.

Of course, it was because she wanted to know if Rong Heng had ever felt sad for her death, not even for a moment.

If she didn't feel any sadness about her death, wouldn't she seem like a fool for loving someone she had loved for so many years, someone she still thought about until her last breath?

"Of course I'm curious about Young Master Rong's affairs," she said with a smile, her eyes sparkling like autumn water.

Rong Heng then began to think seriously, but seeing him like this, Zhu Jiayu felt bored.

never mind.

Why ask so many questions?

To fall in love with someone like Rong Heng, she was utterly foolish. Even if he had a moment of genuine affection for her, could all that she had suffered erased?
