Su Xiaoxiao saw through Nangong Yi's intentions almost immediately. When she interrupted him, she grabbed his arm.
When he turned to look at himself, he gave him a warning smile.
"Would you like me to help you arrange the flowers?"
Nangong Yi quickly found a way to save face and gave his wife a gentle smile as he turned around.
Su Xiaoxiao responded softly, pointing to the flowers that Shan Jiaxi had sent the day before and smiling faintly.
"It's perfect time to change it."
"You!"
Nangong Yi's eyes revealed both doting and helplessness; his little wife had truly been spoiled by him.
However, when he turned to look at Clyde Owen, his face returned to its usual cold expression.
Dan Jinxi raised an eyebrow, speechless at Nangong Yi's childish behavior.
"I'm sorry, my husband doesn't really like me accepting things from strange men."
While Nangong Yi was arranging flowers, Su Xiaoxiao spoke to Clyde Owen in French again, but her eyes remained fixed on her husband's figure.
"Cough cough cough—"
Dan Jinxi feigned discomfort and coughed, subtly reminding Su Xiaoxiao to come to her senses, while a gentle expression naturally appeared on his face.
"Xiaoxiao, we have something to discuss with Nangong Yi."
"Um."
Su Xiaoxiao nodded.
Just then, Nangong Yi finished arranging the flowers. He glanced down at his watch and immediately told the bodyguard at the door to call Huangfu Junhao over.
"My wife is about to have a medical check-up, and I happen to have an hour of free time."
"That's enough."
Clyde Irving finally answered in Chinese.
He wanted to explain his behavior to Su Xiaoxiao, but she didn't care at all.
"Jinyang, take them to Junhao's office. I'll be there right away."
Nangong Yi disliked the way Clyde Owen looked at his wife, and regardless of whether he wanted to apologize or do something else, he didn't give him another chance.
Su Xiaoxiao couldn't help but laugh out loud after the two of them left the ward.
"Honey, you still say you haven't relapsed into your old habits!"
"Is there?"
Nangong Yi would never admit that he helped Su Xiaoxiao get out of bed before Huangfu Junhao arrived.
He even knelt down himself to put slippers on her.
“Junhao will perform some of the tests himself. The tests that are inconvenient for him will be done by your surgeon, Xie Nianqi. You don’t need to be nervous later.”
"You're the one who's nervous."
Su Xiaoxiao knew very well how much Nangong Yi cared about her, and she obediently agreed to have this full-body check-up in the hope that he would feel at ease.
Suddenly, as if she had thought of something, she beckoned to her husband again and said with a smile, "I haven't seen Shan Jiaxi all day. Could it be that he knew Brother Jin was coming today and ran away in advance?"
"As expected of my wife, she's so smart!"
Nangong Yi stole a fragrance from her lips as a reward for tolerating the bouquet of flowers.
Huangfu Junhao stood at the door for a full minute, absolutely certain that Nangong Yi had seen him, but Nangong Yi completely ignored him, engrossed in his sweet talk with Su Xiaoxiao.
"Your public displays of affection are criminal, you understand?"
Huangfu Junhao deliberately waited until the two had finished kissing before shaking his head and walking in.
"It's all your fault!" Su Xiaoxiao blushed again, her skin thin, and pinched Nangong Yi's back without any politeness.
"Ignore him, let him find a woman if he's so capable!"
"Unfortunately, I am naturally frigid!"
"Yuan Kai, remember to convey these words to Grandpa Huangfu verbatim."
"Nangong Yi, is this how you treat a brother?"
As Huangfu Junhao watched Nangong Yi walk out of the ward, a mischievous thought popped into his head.
He turned to look at Su Xiaoxiao and said without hesitation, "Su Xiaoxiao, I think you're quite good. Why don't you come with me?"
