"No need!"
Su Xiaoxiao, as if in a fit of pique, didn't even glance at Xi Yuankai and walked straight to the bus stop ahead.
However, bus after bus passed by her, but she never got on one.
After a while, Xi Yuankai came to Su Xiaoxiao again and respectfully handed her his phone.
"Young Madam, the young master requests that you answer the phone."
"Won't he call my cell phone?"
While Su Xiaoxiao was being stubborn, she still obediently took Xi Yuankai's phone.
"Get on the bus and go home!"
When the cold voice reached her ears again, Su Xiaoxiao seemed to have suffered a great injustice, and stubbornly roared at the person on the other end: "Nangong Yi, I am not a puppet that you can summon and dismiss at will, nor am I someone who will wag my tail and follow you at your beck and call!"
"Isn't this the result you wanted?"
Nangong Yi's tone was cold, and even though Su Xiaoxiao wasn't standing in front of him, she could sense his chilling and fierce expression.
However, he didn't give her a chance to continue speaking and quickly hung up the phone.
As Su Xiaoxiao listened to the beeping sound from the other end, the question Nangong Yi had asked her in the car flashed through her mind. She felt as if she had been struck by lightning, and stood there dumbfounded.
She remembered that sentence: he asked her if she wanted to go back to how things were before, and she stupidly nodded and replied "yes".
"Young Madam, please get into the car quickly."
Xi Yuankai wasn't sure if Nangong Yi had convinced Su Xiaoxiao, but her expression wasn't as insistent as it had been at the beginning, which made him breathe a long sigh of relief.
...
Su Xiaoxiao remained silent all the way home. When she saw Nangong Cang suddenly sitting on the living room sofa, she was taken aback.
"Grandpa, when did you arrive?"
"Xiaoxiao is back."
When Nangong Cang saw Su Xiaoxiao return from outside, he immediately stood up from the sofa with his cane and then ordered the kitchen to prepare dinner.
“Yi’er said you haven’t eaten yet. Grandpa didn’t eat enough for dinner either, so we’ll eat some more together.”
"Grandpa, what about Nangong Yi?"
Su Xiaoxiao carefully scanned the area downstairs but didn't see Nangong Yi, which made her heart skip a beat for no reason.
The conversation the two had in the car echoed in her ears once again.
"Does Xiaoxiao think that Grandpa is too old and that eating with you will make you lose your appetite?" Nangong Cang teased her with a light laugh.
As he sat down, he quickly pointed to the seat next to him, indicating that she should sit down beside him.
Su Xiaoxiao knew he was joking with her, but she still blushed with embarrassment.
“I thought he hadn’t eaten either, so I asked him. Besides, Grandpa, you’ve been so good to Xiaoxiao, how could I possibly dislike you?”
Su Xiaoxiao noticed that Nangong Cang seemed to have something to say to her, so she quickly sat down obediently beside him. "Grandpa, is there something you want to tell me?"
"You're quite the clever girl, you figured that out." Nangong Cang nodded.
"Xiaoxiao, Grandpa wants to talk to you about the Su Group."
"good."
Su Xiaoxiao nodded. After the maid served her dinner, she ate while listening attentively.
Nangong Cang didn't want Su Xiaoxiao to misunderstand because of Nangong Yi's help to the Su Group, so he told her about how he knew Su Xiangming without hiding anything.
After he finished speaking, his expression became melancholy.
“Xiaoxiao, Yi’er helped the Su Group entirely on my behalf. Grandpa hopes you won’t misunderstand or misunderstand Yi’er. He has absolutely no relation to the second young lady of the Su family. Grandpa can assure you of that.”
“Su Xiaoyue is not worthy, and I believe Nangong Yi wouldn’t do something so tasteless. Besides, he even taught that arrogant Miss Su a lesson today.” Su Xiaoxiao’s smile deepened as she spoke of Nangong Yi protecting her.
However, when she thought about the misunderstanding in the car, she suddenly wanted to talk things out with him.
Seeing that Su Xiaoxiao didn't seem genuinely jealous, Nangong Cang felt relieved.
