The Cheshire Cat remained kneeling on the ground and did not stand up.
But, it changed direction.
In the direction the Cheshire Cat turned, there was a huge floor-to-ceiling glass window.
The glass windows look quite strange—
The transparent glass window, outside the window is a poetic and picturesque scenery - but, that is a background board pasted on the window.
The fleece of the blanket covers the entire pattern.
"What do you think of the view outside the window?" The Cheshire Cat smiled faintly.
"The scenery outside the window..." Chu Shangli pondered for a moment——
"The blanket is nice and very realistic, but it's a bit scary when placed on the bed, and it's not easy to match with the furniture." Ying Meng complained.
"I didn't ask you..."
"But I want to answer. I don't care whether you asked me or not." Ying Meng snorted coldly.
"Woo wow, you're really domineering."
"Yes, I am very domineering. If it weren't for my domineering personality, I wouldn't have ended up like this—even if it was awakened later, it probably means that this part of my personality has always existed, right? Didn't you just talk about some difficult topics—genes, personality, and so on. So, the fact that I'm the way I am now must be that I accidentally slipped through the net during the screening, right?"
"A fish that slipped through the net..." The Cheshire Cat squinted his eyes with a subtle smile on his face.
"Why are you looking at me like that—"
"You probably underestimated its accuracy—in the previous world, it was impossible to predict future destiny. But in this world, even future destiny can be calculated—that's how powerful the technology is..."
The Cheshire Cat's wildcat-like eyes swept across Chu Shangli's face.
For some reason, a chill surged from Chu Shangli's back——
The Cheshire Cat's eyes were like invisible air-conditioning fans, able to control the surrounding temperature at will - at least in this short period of time, Chu Shangli had already experienced the feeling of ups and downs.
"Future destiny? What is that?" Ying Meng looked at the Cheshire Cat with a caring expression: "Doesn't that become a fortune-telling by a charlatan?"
"Indeed, but you probably don't know that divination actually has a certain logic behind it."
"We are obviously using new technological products, but we are promoting superstitious ideas?" Ying Meng sneered.
"It's better to use scientific methods to explain superstition. For example, in the past, when someone with Alzheimer's kept replaying past events, people might say they were possessed by a demon or a fox. Now, the public knows that brain atrophy causes memory loss. At a higher level, they know that for ultra-precise mechanical bodies like humans, so-called amnesia is actually the equivalent of a damaged memory card in the brain. All you need to do is transfer the data from that card to a new one and replace it. If there's no data backup, then you can only insert a memory card with common sense into the brain's card slot. Of course, this isn't actually how it works. I'm just using a more understandable explanation... But there are also ethical issues. After all, can a memory card that has been restored to factory settings still be considered the same person, even if they have common sense?"
"The paradox of the Ship of Theseus?" Chu Shangli blurted out -
Perhaps he was too lost in thought—he said something that didn't fit the image he was deliberately presenting in front of Ying Meng and the Cheshire Cat—
But Ying Meng certainly didn't care - she wasn't that sensitive.
Ying Meng didn't care, and the clever Cheshire Cat didn't care either—
"Yes, it's the paradox of the Ship of Theseus."
