Liu Huan pulled Su Yi and Xiao Shi aside and introduced them: "These are my second brother and my youngest brother, you've met them before."
Su Yi nodded to her, and Xiao Shi followed suit, calling her Aunt Tang.
Aunt Tang smiled and called over her son: "This is my son, Yang Rui. He's eight years old this year."
She then bent down and said to her son, "This is your older sister, call her 'older sister'."
The little boy was a bit resistant, but he still obediently called her "sister."
“Huanhuan, why don’t you and I ride in the same carriage? My husband is also a scholar. Let them sit together so we can have a good chat.”
Before Liu Huan could even agree, Su Yi objected, "No need, she gets carsick and needs someone to help her."
When Aunt Tang heard that Liu Huan was traveling by carriage, her anxiety was written all over her face. "What's going on? This can't go on forever. Please wait a moment, I'll go buy some pickled plums."
Liu Huan felt that Aunt Tang was being overly enthusiastic, and she felt a little embarrassed.
"No need, Aunt Tang, I can just lean on my brother."
Upon hearing this, Su Yi told her to wait while he went to the nearest grocery store and bought several packets of candied fruit and pickled plums.
Liu Huan gave two packets to Aunt Tang, and then obediently got into the carriage with Su Yi.
Even Xiao Shi noticed something was off. "Huanhuan, why is Aunt Tang being so nice to you?"
Liu Huan shook her head. "I don't know either."
The carriage moved forward slowly. Liu Huan finally came to her senses, feeling dizzy and unwilling to speak. She leaned against Su Yi listlessly.
Xiao Shi wanted to say something, but Su Yi stopped him with a look.
On the carriage in front, Aunt Tang would occasionally lift the curtain to look outside.
Yang Rui was very dissatisfied with this: "Mother, what are you looking at?"
Aunt Tang snapped out of her reverie, "It's nothing, just look at the scenery outside."
Yang Rui looked at her with a mournful expression: "You seem to really like that older sister. What's she to you?"
When Aunt Tang's husband heard his son say this, he stopped reading and stared at Aunt Tang with his four eyes, making her hands and feet go numb.
"She's nobody to me, I just thought she was cute and wanted to chat with her more."
The journey was uneventful. In the evening, the carriage stopped at the post station. Su Yi carried the sleeping Liu Huan out of the carriage, with Xiao Shi following behind.
Aunt Tang was already waiting at the door. When Su Yi hugged Liu Huan tightly and stepped forward, she reached out her hand and said, "How about I carry her upstairs?"
Su Yi turned slightly to the side and hugged the person in his arms tightly.
He said coldly, "Madam Yang, you should worry more about your own husband and wife and mind your own business."
Aunt Tang was stunned when she heard this, and she didn't hear Yang Rui calling her from her side.
Yang Xiucai looked at her with concern, "Your teacher has been restless lately. You should go back and find a doctor to take a look at him."
Aunt Tang nodded, "Yes, I understand."
The journey was uneventful until Aunt Tang realized that her behavior had aroused suspicion. She got out of the car, gave a brief greeting, and left.
Because of Xiao Shi's arrival, the original room was no longer enough. Su Yi went to school, and Liu Huan took Xiao Shi shopping for clothes and also looked for a room with Ya Zi.
The share of Chunhuilou's profits was enough for her to buy a house, plus the income from ice, so she could be considered a small-time rich woman now.
Xiao Shi's grades are average, and county schools generally don't accept him unless he has connections.
Liu Huan knew that his ambitions lay elsewhere, and that he preferred martial arts, so she planned to hire a tutor for him to learn systematically.
Although Xiao Shi had just arrived, he wasn't afraid at all, chirping around Liu Huan like a little sparrow.
As the two walked, they heard the second sound of officers and soldiers handling a case ahead, and Xiao Shi quickly went up to them.
"Wow, how majestic! Huanhuan, come quick!"
When Liu Huan arrived, he saw Guan Hong holding his sword, stepping on the thief, while the crowd around him applauded and cheered.
Xiao Shi was stunned.
After Guan Chang arrested the man, he turned around and saw Liu Huan.
"Miss Liu, what are you doing here? The streets have been rather unsafe lately, you should go home as soon as possible."
Liu Huan greeted him with a smile, "Brother Guan, are you on a case? This is my younger brother, Su Cheng. He just arrived in the county, and I brought him out to sell some clothes."
Xiao Shi's eyes lit up as he watched Guan Hong remain motionless, almost wanting to go up and touch him.
"So it's you, little brother. Alright, would you like someone to come with you?"
"No need, we'll just stroll around. Brother Changsheng is buying groceries nearby, we'll be there in a bit."
Guan Hong nodded: "Okay, you guys take your time looking around, I'll go back and report now."
As soon as Guan Hong left, Xiao Shi stared at Liu Huan with starry eyes. "Huanhuan, you're so brave! I want to be a constable too."
Liu Huan laughed and scolded, "What good are constables anyway?"
Xiao Shi's eyes widened: "You even look down on constables?"
Liu Huan shook his head: "It's not that I'm looking down on you, but I think you're more than just a constable. I think you can be the martial arts champion. When Shi Tou is the top scholar in the civil service exam, you can be the top scholar in the martial arts exam. That would be so cool!"
Xiao Shi was so impressed by what he heard that he felt like he could become the top martial arts champion next year. "Huanhuan, I like being the top martial arts champion. Let's go back quickly, I'm going to practice."
Liu Huan stopped him: "Don't rush, you can't succeed by yourself. Let's go back and talk to Shi Tou."
After hearing their plan, Shi Tou glanced at Liu Huan and said, "You just want to mess around with her. It's not that easy."
Feeling guilty, Xiao Shi dared not say anything more and could only seek help from Liu Huan.
Those eyes looked so pitiful.
Liu Huan forced herself to hold Su Yi's hand and pleaded, "Shi Tou, my brother doesn't like studying. He only likes wielding swords and spears. And no one is teaching him systematically. If he gets injured later, it will be too late to regret it."
Su Yi did not answer, only saying that he would give him an answer tomorrow.
The two waited anxiously, and the next day Su Yi brought good news and a person: Guan Chang.
"So this is Su Cheng's younger brother. I'll tell my brother when I get back and ask him to introduce us."
Xiao Shi was a little shy, and this time he simply said thank you.
Liu Huan was delighted to hear this and pulled Xiao Shi inside. "Brother, does that mean you can learn systematically, take on eight or even more opponents at once, and become the leader of the martial arts world, invincible under heaven?"
Xiao Shi was overjoyed, but before he could say anything, he was doused with cold water.
"You two are obsessed with flying before you've even learned to walk. Go and practice your writing."
Okay, Liu Huan never bothered her when she was alone before, but now that Xiao Shi is here, Shi Tou has started taking care of her together with the other person.
Liu Huan and Chen Lian went to the kitchen to cook when an uninvited guest arrived at their home.
"My lord, what brings you here?"
It turned out that the prefect had already eaten his fill of everything at Chunhui Restaurant and was still not satisfied. He wanted to find Liu Huan, but when he asked, he learned that Liu Huan had returned to town.
I've been waiting anxiously for so long, and when I heard she was back today, I couldn't wait to come over because I was craving food.
"I was investigating the local conditions when I found out that you lived here."
He spoke in a grand and dignified manner, but his eyes were fixed on the kitchen.
"Are you waiting for food?"
Su Yi: "Yes, sir, please stay for a simple meal."
Lord Xu didn't even try to refuse: "Alright then, I won't stand on ceremony."
With Lord Xu joining them, simple home-cooked meals were no longer appropriate. Liu Huan had no choice but to use her best skills to cook a few dishes that no one had ever tried before.
