Chapter 98 Deliberately Avoiding

Su Wan's heart melted when she saw her son's face flushed red from crying.

"My son had a nightmare, but don't be afraid."

The man on the bed angrily pulled back the curtain, staring at the child in Su Wan's arms with a gloomy expression.

Su Wan found it amusing and could only say, "The child is still young."

Guan Chang snorted unhappily: "A doting mother spoils her son."

Su Wan gave her a harmless glare and said, "What are you saying? My son is going to be a top scholar like his uncle. Don't jinx it."

However, knowing she must feel bad about being interrupted, she blushed and said, "Why don't you... go by yourself..."

Guan Chang could barely hear the last few words. After calming down for a while, he said, "Never mind, let's get him to sleep first."

He watched with anticipation as Su Wan lulled their youngest son to sleep, preparing to unleash his ravenous energy, when another knock sounded at the door.

This time it was Guan Yi. When he heard that his younger brother was coming, he insisted on coming to sleep with his mother.

Guan Chang shouted outside unhappily, "You're such a grown man, go to sleep by yourself."

Guan Yi outside was practically throwing a tantrum, yelling, "I don't want it! I don't want it! My brother is here, I want it too!"

Guan Yi was raised by Madam Guan and rarely clung to Su Wan, so this rare opportunity to do so excited her.

"Alright, go and bring him in."

Guan Chang reluctantly let Guan Yi in, and Guan Yi immediately pounced on the bed. The two brothers slept on either side of Su Wan, leaving only a small space on the bed.

Su Wan looked at the sullen man by the bed and coaxed him, "Then I'll trouble you to sleep in the study, my husband."

The courtyard that Su Yi bought was not large, and with the servants, there were basically no extra rooms, so he could only sleep in the study.

I'll go see the house tomorrow.

After saying that, Guan Chang stormed off in a huff.

Guan Yi excitedly sat up in bed, "Mom, Dad's gone."

Su Wan pressed him down and covered him with the blanket, "You little rascal, go to sleep now."

Guan Chang went out and noticed that Su Yi's study light was still on, so he pushed the door open and went in.

Why aren't you asleep either?

Upon seeing the visitor, Su Yi took out the book he was holding and said, "Let's read."

Guan Chang said with a wicked grin, "Sorry to remind you, you're holding the book upside down."

Su Yi, thick-skinned and completely unfazed by being exposed, straightened the book and asked, "Why are you here looking for me instead of sleeping?"

"I'm showing you more concern. I heard you and Huanhuan had a fight this morning?"

"Nothing of the sort," Su Yi closed the book, tidied up his pen and ink, and got up. "Let's go, it's time to sleep."

Guan Chang stood at the door without letting him pass, and, not wanting to miss out on the fun, said, "Why don't you tell me what's wrong? I'll see where the problem lies. Otherwise, one of you is a silent type and the other just knows how to hide. As your brother-in-law, I'm worried too."

“No need,” Su Yi said as he stepped out from the side. “If you want to use the study, then continue using it.”

A gust of wind blew out the candle on the table. Helpless, Guan Chang closed the door and went to his study to rest.

For several days in a row, Liu Huan deliberately avoided Su Yi, sleeping until noon during the day before going out and returning very late at night.

He would either wander around the training room or go to Chunhui Building, and coincidentally, the shop next to Chunhui Building was also bought by Guan Chang.

Intending to use it for crayfish, she went over to see how Guan Chang, an ancient person, ran his crayfish restaurant.

After tasting crayfish back then, Guan Chang tried every means to raise crayfish.

After the Spring Festival this year, he accompanied Su Yi to Beijing and brought a lot of shrimp seedlings. He rented a large field outside the city and had his experienced servants raise them.

He opened the Chunhui Restaurant because the lobsters hadn't grown big enough yet. He went to check on them half a month ago and they were just ready to eat.

The walls are covered with murals of crayfish, painted with remarkable realism.

"So, how's your brother-in-law's shop? Not bad, right?"

Liu Huan gave a thumbs up, "Really good."

"The shop isn't big enough. I've already rented the area in front of it, so I can put a few tables there."

Because the Imperial Academy is not far away, this street is full of restaurants, and the prices are relatively cheaper than other places. However, since Chunhuilou opened here, many dignitaries and nobles have also frequented it.

However, they all booked private rooms upstairs in advance, and did not eat in the main hall. There was even a special VIP passage.

Therefore, this crayfish dish is also aimed at ordinary people and students, and does not require fancy decorations.

Liu Huan agreed: "I think it's good. I also like to eat outside with the wind blowing; it feels even better."

"By the way, with red shrimp we'll definitely need several shrimp-washing workers. I happen to have a few good trainees at the training course, I'll ask them if they want to come."

"Alright, just call someone over. Let them get acquainted with you for a couple of days first. Don't worry too much about etiquette; these red prawns aren't meant to be served to important guests."

Actually, this idea is wrong. As long as you are a person, there are very few things you don't like.

Su Yi knew that Liu Huan had been deliberately avoiding him these past few days because of Guan Chang's new store. On the surface, he seemed nonchalant, but in reality, he was already thinking about how to get her attention.

On the day the lobster restaurant opened, Liu Huan went to see it in person. There were hardly any people in the morning, and still not many in the afternoon.

The shop assistant seemed a little anxious, but she wasn't.

She asked the kitchen to cook a pot of it, and she personally brought it to the table by the door to eat. The aroma was so enticing it could be smelled for miles around.

"Hmm, what's that smells so strong?"

"It looks like the red worm in this young lady's hand. Can you eat that stuff?"

"This tastes really good, shall we order some to try?"

They offered a 20% discount for the first three days after opening, which was quite a good deal. They also gave everyone a complimentary homemade shaved ice, and the staff personally demonstrated how to eat it.

The guest was choked by the overpowering flavor after the first bite.

"Why is this flavor so overpowering?"

Just when passersby thought he was about to throw something away and leave, he picked it up again and continued eating, sucking every part of the crayfish clean.

Finally, peel off the meat and dip it in the broth.

It was so spicy, I sizzled, and then picked up another one.

Someone nearby couldn't help but ask, "What's this thing you're eating called?"

"Red shrimp, especially delicious."

Yes, we don't call them crayfish anymore, we call them red shrimp, because dragons are taboo. If someone keeps talking about dragons all the time, what will the lady in the palace think?

"Give me one too, so I can see if it's really that delicious."

"Is this restaurant the same as the one next door?" a customer asked, looking at the signboard of Chunhuilou Red Shrimp Restaurant.

"We're a company, so customers can rest assured that the taste will satisfy you."

Liu Huan waited until her business was on track before she went to check on the restaurant next door. The restaurant was still packed with people, and she even heard that they were selling red shrimp next door, so she ordered a portion to try.

After she finished shopping, it was already dark. Since it was the first day of the opening, Guan Chang had to stay behind to clean up, so she took a carriage back first.

As soon as I entered, I saw Su Yi's servant escorting a doctor out.

Her heart tightened, and she quickly stepped forward to ask, "Who's sick?"

Changbai replied, "It's the young master. I don't know why, but he has a persistent high fever..."

Before he could finish speaking, Liu Huan dashed inside like a gust of wind.
