Chapter 188 A Thrilling Escape

Anzhi looked at the two of them and then at the white wolf, and said calmly, "Stop yelling, people are annoyed by you."

The two then stopped talking. Song Sisi tiptoed to Anzhi's side, tugged at her sleeve, and whispered, "Anzhi, who is it?"

Anzhi gave her the look one would give someone mentally challenged, and then said, "How would I know?"

He had only seen it in books, but dared not say it out loud.

The boy who had recovered calmly remarked, "It's a wolf."

Song Sisi turned to look at him. "You finally spoke. How did you know it was a wolf?"

The boy stopped talking, but looked at the teeth marks on his hand and touched them.

"Hmph, fine, I won't say it then, Anzhi..." She turned to look for Anzhi, but Anzhi turned away and didn't speak to her.

Song Sisi groaned twice before stopping, then realized that the pain seemed to have subsided. "Sigh, I don't feel bad anymore. How about you guys?"

"It's really amazing! I thought I was going to die yesterday, it's so good!"

The boy tried to stand up and found that he wasn't as limp as he had been yesterday. "Can we go now?"

He looked at the white wolf and then at the two people on the ground, feeling a strange unease about being with the wolf.

"Oh, my parents must be looking for me, waaaaah, I want to go home."

The little girl's face changed in an instant; her happy expression, which had been bright because she had recovered from her illness, was now clouded with worry, as if a sudden downpour was about to begin.

"Going out now might mean someone is waiting outside; it's not as safe as staying here."

With tears still on her face, Song Sisi proudly raised her head and declared, "I am Song Liangde's youngest daughter, Song Sisi. Whoever helps me return home, my father will reward me with ten thousand taels of gold!"

"I'm afraid you'll be arrested again before you even give your name."

Hearing this, Song Sisi trembled all over. She wiped the tears from her face with the back of her sleeve and asked, "Sigh, what did you see that day that scared you so much?"

The boy's dark phoenix eyes frightened her even more, and Song Sisi couldn't help but shrink her neck and say, "Fine, don't tell me then. I don't really want to know anyway."

“There’s someone talking, it must be them. Those little brats dared to lie to me, grab them.”

The three were shocked. The voice sounded like the steward's. They wondered why he had come back.

"Anzhi, what do we do?"

Song Sisi glanced at the boy beside her, who was still stunned, and decided to follow Anzhi anyway, since they couldn't afford to be taken back.

At that moment, the white wolf let out a long howl, and the three of them looked over and saw the white wolf begin to walk in the direction behind them.

Anzhi made a decisive decision: "Follow it!"

Song Sisi quickly pulled the idiot next to her and said, "Let's go. It's better to be eaten by wolves than to go back and be bullied."

The people down the mountain caught up, "Butler, it's right there."

The butler said, "Hmph, take them all back, especially those two boys."

"yes"

The butler felt a chill run down his spine when he thought about the terrifying look in his master's eyes when he came back this morning and asked about the child. He had originally thought the child was just that of an ordinary wealthy man, but who would have thought that there was also the orphan of a general among them.

Second Master loves orphans the most.

"Don't even mention the rash; even if he dies, I want to watch him breathe his last." These were his master's exact words.

Fortunately, they arrived in time; the little devils hadn't been eaten by the wolves or escaped.

Upon hearing this, Song Sisi followed the white wolf, asking as she ran, "How did you offend those people? Why did they say they wanted you?"

An Zhi said without turning his head, "Don't speak."

The boy who was with them had now come to his senses and was thinking about what had happened in that house. He knew that even if the wolf in front of him ate him, he would never be taken back.

"Don't run! Stop!"

The servants who caught up were unaware of the wolves ahead and kept threatening them, "Stop now and you'll suffer less later, or you'll be in big trouble."

"Ah!" Song Sisi tripped and fell on a kudzu vine. Anzhi stopped to help her up, but the boy ran forward without looking back.

"Waaah, Anzhi, please don't leave me." The little girl trembled at the thought of being captured. Anzhi checked her over and found that she only had scratches on her legs. He got up and pulled her away.

"Bear with it, the leg injury isn't serious."

Song Sisi ignored the pain in her legs and used all her strength to pull An Zhi's hand forward, afraid of falling behind and being caught.

Children are not as fast as adults, and when the two were exhausted, the servants caught up with them.

"Run! Why did you stop running?"

The butler stepped out from the crowd, a wicked grin on his face, and said, "I didn't realize you were so clever to come up with this trick to escape, but too bad I caught you anyway."

"Tie them up, but remember not to hurt them. Second Master doesn't like injured children."

As the men surrounded them with ropes, a white creature fell from the sky and swiftly bit off the neck of one of the servants.

"Ahhh, what is that?"

"He's a wolf, the butler is a wolf."

The butler looked at the child behind the wolf with a fierce and determined look in his eyes. "Kill this wolf and take the child away, or you will all die when we get back."

Upon hearing this, the group of people who were preparing to escape began to attack the white wolf, some even going around to the back in an attempt to grab the child directly.

A loud thud was heard as a wooden stick struck someone's head. Anzhi turned around and saw that the other person, who had disappeared long ago, had returned.

"Run!"

Anzhi grabbed Song Sisi's hand and ran in his direction. The butler saw this and shouted, "They're trying to escape! Chase after them!"

Seeing this, the white wolf howled, and several more came from around, quickly taking care of several of them.

Seeing this, the steward reluctantly led the last few men to retreat. After they reached the foot of the mountain, his men asked, "Steward, what should we do now?"

The butler glanced at him, his eyes filled with malice, and said, "How should I know what to do? Go find a few people who look alike."

"yes"

The three people running through the woods finally stopped when they reached a wide-open space.

The first thing I did after stopping was to lie on the ground and gasp for breath.

Once she had recovered somewhat, Song Sisi said, "Anzhi, they won't be chasing after us, will they?"

Turning my head, I saw Anzhi lying flat on the ground, her cheeks wet with what looked like sweat or tears, hidden in her hair.

Song Sisi reached out to pull him, but he shook her off like a spring, saying, "Don't touch me."

Song Sisi was startled and was about to get angry, but then she remembered that he hadn't abandoned her and ran away, so she patiently said, "Anzhi, don't be sad. When I get home, I'll definitely ask my dad to take you back."

The boy next to him had already stood up and run to a small river not far away, saying, "There are fish here."

Song Sisi asked a very practical question, "Do you guys have any fire?"

Well, apart from the clothes that were given to everyone in the yard, no one was wearing anything else.

A commotion arose from the distant jungle. The three people huddled together like startled birds. Suddenly, a white figure darted out, a bloodstained gray rabbit dangling from its mouth.
