Liu Huan woke up at 9:00 AM and felt fine. Su Yi knew it was her first time and didn't bother her too much.
After fully waking up, I realized something was wrong. Wasn't I supposed to go and offer tea to the emperor the next day?
"Qiu Rong!"
Qiu Rong was already waiting outside. Hearing the sound, she pushed open the door and went in. "Master, you're awake."
"What time is it now?"
"It's past 9 AM, Miss."
Liu Huan hastily wiped her face with a handkerchief, then sat in front of the dressing mirror and had Qiu Rong fix her hair. "Oh no, today is the tea ceremony. Will my parents say anything?"
Qiu Rong comforted her knowingly, "Miss, the old lady said you're not allowed to be woken up. You can sleep as long as you want. We're all family, so it doesn't matter."
Liu Huan finally felt relieved.
That's true. After living together for over a decade, how can you become an outsider just because you're married?
I leisurely prepared to go, and only after eating a piece of pastry did I remember to ask, "By the way, where are your parents?"
Qiu Rong said, "My lord went out early this morning, and I don't know where he went."
These words made Liu Huan feel very uncomfortable. She woke up on her first day of marriage and didn't see her husband. What was the difference between him and a scumbag who slept with her and then left?
Suppressing her displeasure, she stopped eating the pastries and led Qiu Rong toward Su's mother's courtyard.
She figured Su Yi was probably there.
Indeed, Su Yi was currently in the main courtyard, his eyes brimming with excitement, chatting with his parents.
"Why hasn't Lady Liu arrived yet?" Su Yi's question stunned everyone present. It took them a while to realize that the Lady Liu he was referring to was Huanhuan.
Su's mother was puzzled. "Shitou, why are you calling Huanhuan by her name like that today?"
Su Yi then realized that his behavior was a bit unusual to them.
Su Cheng chimed in, "That's right, Liu Shi? Brother, have you lost your mind?"
Su Yi changed his expression, and said somewhat apologetically, "I misspoke, I probably didn't sleep well."
Su's mother didn't think much of it, but simply warned him, "Don't talk nonsense in front of Huanhuan. What are you doing up so early today?"
Su Yi was filled with mixed feelings from the moment he opened his eyes in the morning.
He looked at Liu Shi, whom he had executed by slow slicing, sleeping in his arms, and everything around him seemed like a wedding. He found it unbelievable, even a little hard to believe, and he was shocked.
Without waking anyone around him, he got up, dressed, and went outside, only to find himself in Maocao Village, a place he hadn't been back to for many years.
Just as I was about to go out, I saw someone coming out of the neighbor's yard. "Stone, why are you up so early?"
Su Yi looked over and saw that the woman, dressed in gorgeous clothes, wearing a pearl hairpin, and with a rosy and prosperous face, was exactly the eldest sister in his memory.
He almost didn't recognize him now.
Su Wan walked up to him and waved her hand, "Why aren't you saying anything?"
"Sister, it really is you." Su Yi's eyes reddened. He never expected that his unfortunate sister would be standing in front of him safe and sound.
Su Wan tiptoed and touched his forehead. "You don't have a fever. Are you too nervous about the wedding and didn't sleep well?"
Su Yi calmed his excitement and said, "Hmm, maybe."
Su Wan looked like she knew it all along, "That's how it is when you get married. When I got married to your brother-in-law, it took me several days to come to my senses."
"Okay, I understand."
Seeing that he seemed distracted, Su Wan said, "Huanhuan probably won't wake up for a while. If you don't want to sleep, go find your parents so you don't just sit there in a daze."
Su Yi suddenly looked up, "Where are my parents?"
Su Wan asked in bewilderment, "Master, are you really... have you gone mad after getting married?"
Just then, Su Wan was stopped by a man's voice, "Wan Niang~"
Su Wan said with a seemingly complaining yet happy expression, "Look at your brother-in-law, he's probably lost something again right now, really."
Before she could finish speaking, Su Yi rushed toward the source of the sound, his face filled with anger.
Guan Changjian looked puzzled as Su Yi stormed towards him. "Su Yi, what's wrong with you?"
Su Yi stopped calling out when he saw that face.
It wasn't him, so what exactly happened?
Su Wan jogged over and said, "Why are you running so fast? You need to see your brother-in-law. Even if it's something else, don't mention it today. Who talks about business on the first day of marriage?"
Su Yi clenched his fists, his eyes filled with indescribable thoughts.
"Sister, I'm going to find Mom and Dad now."
After Su Yi left, Guan Chang asked, "What's wrong with him?"
Su Wan shook her head, "I don't know, maybe I'm just too tired these past few days and haven't had enough sleep."
Su Yi walked out of the courtyard and, based on his deduction of the courtyard's structure, found the location of the main courtyard. Su's parents were already up.
Su Yi saw the two people making strange movements in the yard through the threshold. He clenched his fist on the door frame, his heart surging with emotion.
The moment Su's father turned around, he saw him. "Shitou, what are you doing there?"
Su Yi quickly went in and knelt before the two of them, "Father, Mother!"
The two were confused. Su's mother helped him up, saying, "What's wrong? This isn't the time for serving tea. Wait for Huanhuan to come."
When Su's father heard Su's mother say this, he burst into laughter, "Hahahaha, everyone will laugh at you when they see this."
Su Yi reached out and hugged his mother, then his father. The two thought he was acting this way because of his wedding. Su's mother patted his shoulder and said, "What are you doing? Why are you acting so awkward now that you're married?"
Su Yi stood aside and waited for the two to finish the movements. The two clapped their hands and said, "The movement that Huanhuan taught us is really effective. I feel refreshed after doing it."
Su Yi's mind was in turmoil. He didn't know if it was all real or a dream, and he pinched his fingers.
Pain is not a dream.
Once the two were seated, he deliberately guided them, and Su's parents recounted everything about their family, reminiscing about their childhood.
"I said back then that Huanhuan was a lucky star. With her around, our Su family has truly changed its fortunes."
"Yes, then when we go to the underworld, we'll have the face to meet our ancestors."
"When Huanhuan was little, she would stick stones to her face. Now that the two of them are together, they are a perfect match and childhood sweethearts."
Su's mother scolded playfully, "You're still talking about it."
Su Yi had no recollection of what they said; all he felt was hatred for Liu Huan, as well as guilt and remorse for his parents, brothers, and sister.
The three chatted for a long time. Da Shi, Fang Yi, Su Cheng, and Su Wan's family arrived one after another, but the protagonist of today had not yet arrived.
That's why Su Yi said that earlier, "Why hasn't Madam Liu arrived yet?"
After waiting a little while longer, Liu Huan finally arrived late, looking embarrassed. Su's mother grabbed her arm.
"Why are you shy? Sleep however you want, and see who dares to say anything to you."
She was looking at Su Yi when she said this.
Su Yi thought to himself that his status might not even be as high as that of this Liu Shi.
Liu Huan saw Su Yi as soon as she arrived. She was angry that he hadn't waited for her, and she wouldn't speak to him unless he apologized.
