Chapter 66 She's looking for me. You, get out!

The twins had no idea what was happening; Jiang Xiaoxin was still excitedly calling out, "Mommy, is it done yet?"

"Mom, can I move now?"

"Mom, are we playing 'Red Light, Green Light'?"

"Mom, that's not how you play 'Red Light, Green Light'! You have to turn around!"

"Oh, it's not that you can't turn around, but then you'll have to be blindfolded!"

Oh dear, she's so annoyed! Does her mom not know how to play?

The silly girl was very anxious and couldn't help but want to jump down and cover her mother's eyes with her little hands!

Jiang Wan did not stop her actions because she heard footsteps; someone was coming.

Her gaze swept over the twins, wondering why the same light shone on them, producing different effects.

Could it be due to the location?

But she didn't have time to switch places with them; the person had already walked outside, stood in front of the window, and knocked on her windowpane.

It was Yu Tongguang, still smiling warmly and brightly.

"Xiao Wan, you must have had a long day. Come out and take a rest!"

Xiao Wan?

Jiang Wan's eyebrows twitched slightly. This person was so outgoing? How come she hadn't noticed before?

She didn't like this person. She had just started to make some progress in her research and didn't really want to talk to him, so she sat there without moving.

The game was interrupted, and Jiang Xiaoxin was unhappy. She put her hands on her hips and complained, "You can't call me Mom Xiaowan!"

Yu Tongguang was trying to curry favor with Jiang Wan, so he naturally had to be more patient with her twin children. He smiled and asked, "Why can't Uncle call your mom that?"

Although he was smiling, he felt extremely disgusted inside. This child was just like Cheng Zhen, they were practically clones!

His pupils contracted slightly. Could it really be that kid's child?

His gaze towards Jiang Wan changed slightly, but Jiang Wan, lost in her own thoughts, didn't notice.

The naive Jiang Xiaoxin saw him talking to her and even looking at her mother. She didn't understand that this was disrespectful; she only knew that she was very unhappy!

She frowned and thought for a moment, then suddenly felt that looking up at him like that made her feel inferior. So she climbed onto the lab table using a stool, blocking his view with her small frame.

"I'm talking to you! My mom's busy right now, you can go!"

They shooed people away in a childish voice, but they were quite forceful!

Jiang Wan didn't care about Yu Tongguang's behavior; she only felt a flash of green before her eyes. Today, Jiang Xiaoxin was wearing a red dress with white flowers.

She subconsciously looked at Jiang Xiaoshu, who was wearing a white tank top and black shorts.

Jiang Wan seemed to see the truth and was excited. She immediately stood up and looked at Yu Tongguang, who was still standing outside the window. Her gaze fell on him. He was wearing a blue-green military uniform.

Like a firework, it suddenly exploded in her mind.

She was extremely agitated and immediately opened the door, going out and calling out, "Where's Cheng Zhen?"

Seeing her open the door, Yu Tongguang ignored the silly girl and went straight to Jiang Wan, only to be slapped away by her. Hearing her call out "Cheng Zhen" as soon as she spoke, he felt slightly displeased: "Xiao Wan, I brought you some good things again today..."

Ugh, so annoying!

Jiang Wan said directly, "Put your things down, you can leave now. Where's Cheng Zhen? Show him to his family!"

Cheng Zhen had just returned to camp after finishing her work on the water pipes when she was summoned by her to chase people away.

As for Yu Tongguang, the entire outer city camp did not welcome him. Before Cheng Zhen could take any action, Yu Yuan and the others immediately surrounded him upon hearing Jiang Wan's words, looking as if they were about to violently drive him away.

Jiang Wan completely ignored whether they were about to fight. She took the twins back to their room, then returned to the lab. Before drawing the curtains, she opened the window and said to Cheng Zhen, "Hurry up, I need to talk to you!"

Cheng Zhen raised his chin at Yu Tongguang, who was facing off against him: "See? She's looking for me. You, get lost!"

Yu Tongguang eventually left, and Cao Jin couldn't help but feel indignant: "Boss, it's not good for us to keep coming here. After all, this is someone else's territory!"

The two sides have never gotten along, and every time he comes over, he is on tenterhooks, fearing that the man surnamed Cheng might shoot him in the back.

Yu Tongguang's usual smile vanished, and he sneered, "Do you think I wanted to come? There are orders from above that we can't kill anyone, and we must keep this woman under our control! If I don't come, who do you think you are?"

Cao Jin then grinned shamelessly.

Yu Tongguang kicked him: "Get lost, don't you even look at yourself, you coward!"

His gaze was gloomy. He was, after all, a handsome and capable man! How was he any less than that guy surnamed Cheng?!

After a moment, he suddenly spoke up: "We can't do this. We have to find a way to get her out of the First Battalion!"

Cheng Zhen was in a good mood after shooing Yu Tongguang away. She turned around and went into Jiang Wan's laboratory. When she met Jiang Wan's cold and serious face, she subconsciously tensed up: "You wanted to see me? What's up?"

"Can I trust you?" Jiang Wan asked.

She wasn't doing anything; she was just sitting in a chair with her arms crossed, facing the door.

Then he gestured with his chin to the side, "Sit down, let's talk."

"Can I trust you?" she asked again.

Cheng Zhen frowned: "Yes."

He paused for a moment, then said firmly, "You can trust me. At least, the botanist hunter is not me, nor is it anyone close to me."

In other words, she would not be safe, at least not while she was with them.

Jiang Wan shook her head: "No, what I mean is, can I trust you to lead humanity out of the apocalypse?"

Cheng Zhen tensed up immediately: "You have a way?"

"I don't."

Jiang Wan paused for a moment, then said, word by word, "But I think it's worth a try."

Cheng Zhen was very excited. He took a step forward and stood in front of her, one hand on her chair. His eyes were like torches as he stared at her intently. He said in a deep voice, "Then what do you want me to do? Just tell me!"

"Don't be nervous, find someone reliable, a researcher in optics."

Jiang Wan patted her shoulder, signaling him to move away; she wasn't used to being too close.

Cheng Zhen subconsciously straightened up, then looked down at her: "Find another expert?"

“Yes.” Jiang Wan nodded. “I have a guess, but I need an optical expert to help verify it. I’m not good at that kind of thing.”

"Okay, I'll take care of it."

Jiang Wan reminded him: "It must be kept secret, and it must be completely reliable."

"OK."

After finishing her story, Jiang Wan stood up and said, "When are we going out to exterminate the mutated plants? I want to go too."

"Where are you going?" Cheng Zhen was a little confused by her train of thought. Weren't they talking about research?

"Looking for something to eat." Jiang Wan looked at him as if he were an idiot. "There aren't any fresh vegetables left in the city. Are you really planning to eat water peanuts for the rest of your lives? That's for pigs."
