Take the stairs to the second floor to find the emergency exit.
I checked the time; it was past 7 p.m.
The sky outside was completely dark. Through the large French windows, it was almost pitch black, with only a few stars occasionally peeking through the overcast sky.
Fortunately, the high-powered flashlight that had just been charged worked well and was able to illuminate the entire shop in front of me.
There weren't many people lying on the second floor, so Lin Xuan went into a store selling high-end women's clothing.
It's probably a branded garment; a white blazer costs over 3,000 yuan. Although I never wear this kind of office lady style clothing, I'll keep it anyway.
Perhaps when we're in our thirties or forties, humanity will defeat the zombies and rebuild civilization. We can wear them then.
This area is full of clothing stores of various brands, some of which Lin Xuan recognizes, but most of them are unfamiliar to her.
Men's clothing, women's clothing, all kinds of styles, no matter what they are, they even take everything from the shelves and warehouse.
Besides clothing stores, this floor also houses several high-end shoe stores, bag stores, eyewear stores, cosmetics stores, boutique general stores, lingerie stores, jewelry stores, outdoor equipment stores, and a very stylish bookstore.
The innermost area is a large market selling off-season discounted clothes. Winter shoes, hats, thermal underwear, and designer down jackets are piled up on the stalls, making it look like a vegetable market.
Lin Xuan emptied the entire second-floor shop, buying up clothes, shoes, cosmetics, and other items for all four seasons.
She was so tired that her legs were trembling. Before the apocalypse, she would never have been able to walk this far.
Although she was exhausted, she was in high spirits. She wanted to seize the time to stockpile supplies before everyone woke up. In this life, God had given her such a great advantage, and she had to make the most of it.
On the third floor, there's a furniture store that Lin Xuan was looking forward to, as well as bedding and home appliance specialty stores.
Computers, tablets, mobile phones, bicycles, skateboards, balance bikes, fitness equipment, etc. are also available for sale.
Since she couldn't ride a bicycle, Lin Xuan went to a store that sold balance bikes and picked out a balance bike with handlebars. Her legs, which were about to break, were saved.
After trying it out and nearly falling off a few times while wobbling, she finally mastered the skill of riding a balance bike, albeit with some stumbles.
The third floor was almost deserted except for the shop assistants. Lin Xuan rode her balance bike around the third floor, shopping with ease and comfort.
A white leather sofa and a small wooden coffee table decorate the living room. In a bedroom, place a wooden bed with a latex mattress and a beige printed cotton bedding set.
She placed matching bedside tables and wardrobes next to the bed. The other bedroom was left empty for now. Once her brother returned, she would have to find a way to let him into the space, and then she would have him arrange the room.
The projector, microwave, oven, refrigerator, washing machine, and robot vacuum cleaner were all placed in suitable locations. Apart from the items that could be used in the room for the time being, the rest were all stored in the underground storage room.
After finishing up the third floor, I returned to my space, rested on the newly acquired sofa for a while, and then went back upstairs.
There's even a movie theater on the fourth floor, and there are shops selling popcorn, milk tea, ice cream, and snacks at the entrance.
Take away all the finished products that are on the counters of these shops.
In the milk tea shop, Lin Xuan left a cup of grape fruit tea in her hand, poked open the lid film, and took a sip.
The ice in the fruit tea had all melted, and it didn't taste as good as freshly made tea. After thinking for a moment, she took away the milk tea making machine, along with the cabinets and boxes containing the ingredients.
She doesn't know how to use these things, but her brother definitely does. We'll have him make milk tea for her then.
With that in mind, she went back to the popcorn and ice cream shop and took away all the usable popcorn machines.
Across from the cinema is a row of restaurants, offering buffets, burgers, pizzas, stir-fries, and afternoon tea—a pretty comprehensive selection.
We went to the buffet restaurant first, because there weren't many people eating there since the power outage happened around 10:30 in the morning.
The food on the table hadn't been touched much, but it was all cold.
After being left to air dry for a day, many of the cold dishes had turned sour, and the raw fish was no longer fresh and inedible.
Remove all edible food, along with the cabinet containing the tableware, and discard any spoiled food to avoid causing diarrhea.
Lin Xuan rode her balance bike to the kitchen.
There were still uncooked dishes on the stove, and the chefs were lying on the floor. The stoves here are probably equipped with automatic flameout protection, so there was no fire or gas leak in the kitchen.
I found several large freezers containing food, which were neatly arranged with frozen fish and various meats. The food was not completely thawed yet.
These are all edible, so we packed them away along with the freezer, and also took away the sacks of vegetables that were against the wall.
Lin Xuan didn't collect the rice, flour, or potatoes that keep well. Unlike the first floor, which was crowded and had nowhere to hide, this floor had fewer people and had doors at the front and back. If there were any survivors, they could block the doors and hold out for a while. Who knows, maybe they could find a way out.
It's mid-July now, and the weather is already a bit hot. In three days, most of the fish and meat in those freezers will spoil, and it would be a waste to leave them here uneaten.
So Lin Xuan took away all the perishable food. She had already cleared out the entire first-floor storage. She had plenty of supplies now, so she wouldn't go so far as to leave no scraps behind.
All the restaurants here have been cleared out using this method.
As the balance scooter turned a corner, the spot illuminated by the powerful flashlight turned out to be a small electronics market.
There were quite a few computers, tablets and mobile phones on the counter inside. Thieves never leave empty-handed; they take the counter along with the items, whether they use them or not.
On a computer repair counter, Lin Xuan found a box full of USB flash drives, each labeled with a tag.
A whole box full of American TV series, classic Korean dramas, Chinese TV series, classic movies, anime, animal documentaries, and more.
This is great stuff; I must have it.
I happily put this box of resource trays in the living room, and after scootering around, I had cleaned up this little electronics market.
It was already past 11 p.m., and Lin Xuan had basically cleared out the building. She was exhausted and sleepy, and although she wanted to rush home that night, she was not in the right condition.
She decided to take a nap, set her phone alarm for 4 a.m., put it on the wireless charger with a magic circle pattern that she had just bought at the computer mall, and crawled into the large bed with a latex mattress and fell asleep immediately.
July 16, 4:00 AM.
"The Internationale must be realized..."
The loud ringtone of the cell phone startled Lin Xuan so much that she almost fell off the bed. She was stunned for a while before she fumbled to turn off the alarm.
She thought she would have nightmares, but she didn't. She even slept very well and felt all her fatigue disappear.
As Lin Xuan got out of bed to put on her shoes, she almost knelt down. Her legs felt like noodles, sore and weak. Her body was really too weak; she needed to exercise!
