The three children were all boys around seven or eight years old, an age that even dogs would avoid.
"What we're doing is none of your business!"
A boy glanced into the distance; his parents were watching in that direction, not afraid of Bai Yifan.
"Meow—"
The kitten was kicked to his feet by a boy, and he kicked it back without mercy, sending the little bundle of kittens flying toward a third boy.
The kitten whimpered and coughed up red blood, staining its white fur crimson.
"Xiao Yang, you kicked it way!"
A boy complained as he ran over and kicked the kitten again.
Bai Yifan frowned and ran over quickly, pulling the boy back so he stumbled and missed kicking the kitten.
What are you doing!
The boy glared angrily at Bai Yifan. If Bai Yifan hadn't been tall and strong, he and his friends would have kicked him long ago!
"Children should respect animals. If you bully animals today, animals will bully you tomorrow!"
Bai Yifan glanced at the kitten vomiting blood and frowned.
The kitten seemed to know that Bai Yifan had saved it. It whimpered and ran to his feet, resting its head on his feet and squinting its eyes.
A rare moment of peace.
"It's the apocalypse, what respect is there to be ashamed of! Nobody cares about kittens, why should I give face to a cat!"
The seven or eight-year-old child had a domineering look on his face, and his eyes were full of contempt.
“Yes, it’s a cat. You need to give the cat back to us right now. My mom and dad are right there.” A little boy smacked his lips. “After it dies, we can eat meat.”
Cat meat doesn't taste good.
But for them, this was a rare treat to taste meat.
Those who do not live in villas or residential areas are ordinary people or low-level superpowered individuals.
They don't often go out to kill zombies and search for supplies; they stay in the base all day, just waiting to die.
Occasionally, they would help out at the base or with personal tasks in exchange for meager supplies, barely enough to survive.
Cat meat is a rare treat for them.
