Chapter 2 You're Pregnant

"Xiao Zhu, we've got nothing else to do this afternoon, how about I take you shopping for clothes?"

Wang Yiyun glanced at Bai Xizhu's slightly red eyes and said with a smile.

Bai Xizhu lowered her head and took a bite of braised pork. Her eyes lit up instantly, and she shoveled another mouthful of rice into her mouth.

"I'm not buying any more, I have plenty of clothes."

Bai Xizhu ate the food in her bowl in big mouthfuls, as if she hadn't eaten for three years, and shook her head like a hamster.

"Mom, can you buy me a pair of socks?" Bai Yifan asked.

"What are you buying socks for? You only got 46 on your English test, and you still have the nerve to ask for socks?" Wang Yiyun glared at Bai Yifan. "You didn't even get 60, the passing score, and you still have the nerve to ask for socks?"

"Mom, the passing score is 90 points," Bai Yifan added weakly.

"Get out!" Wang Yiyun slammed her hand on the table.

"Okay!"

Bai Yifan grinned, shoveled a chunk of braised pork into his bowl, and huddled next to Bai Xizhu, devouring it.

Bai Xizhu was not to be outdone; she raised her chopsticks and shoveled rice into her mouth with all her might.

"Hey, eat slowly!" Wang Yiyun was taken aback, then put another piece of braised pork into Bai Xizhu's bowl. "I told you to eat breakfast but you didn't, and you slept until the afternoon. Look how hungry you are!"

Bai Xizhu puffed out her cheeks, gave Wang Yiyun a silly smile, and then lowered her head to shovel rice into her mouth.

Bai Xizhu ate three bowls of rice during that meal.

Bai Anhai looked at Bai Xizhu with a kind expression, always feeling that it was because his cooking skills were too good that his daughter ate so much food.

"Honey, let's go shopping!"

Wang Yiyun, carrying her bag, looked at Bai Xizhu with a smile.

Just as Bai Xizhu was about to nod, she suddenly felt something was off and her head spun.

"Mom, I'm not going. You and Dad go together!" Bai Xizhu forced a smile and gave Wang Yiyun a weak one.

"What do you want? Mom will buy it for you!"

Wang Yiyun was slightly puzzled, but considering that she had just had a nightmare, she decided to let her recover.

"Anything is fine!" Bai Xizhu scratched her head. "Buy more food!"

In the three years since the apocalypse, countless powerful superhumans have fought tooth and nail for a little bit of supplies.

"OK!"

Wang Yiyun naturally fulfilled her daughter's little wish, and she and Bai Anhai went out shopping arm in arm.

After the two left, Bai Xizhu returned to her room, feeling dizzy again.

Bai Xizhu's face was slightly pale. She sat cross-legged on the bed, closed her eyes, and tentatively sensed the supernatural power within her body.

An energy flowed from my brain to my limbs, and the dizziness in my head subsided somewhat.

Bai Xizhu opened her eyes blankly, staring at the water glass on the table.

The water glass suddenly moved, slowly flying towards Bai Xizhu.

"Smack!"

The water glass suddenly lost control in mid-air, fell to the floor, and shattered into pieces.

A trace of pain flashed across Bai Xizhu's face. She thought those three years were just a dream, but she never expected that she had been reborn and returned to the time before the apocalypse.

She still possesses control-type superpowers, which means the apocalypse will still occur.

Bai Xizhu stretched out her fingers, her attention focused on her hands. After a long while, a little bit of frost condensed on her fingers.

She was a rare ability user with both control and ice abilities, and was originally one of the best in the base. Unexpectedly, this led to a terrible disaster.

A ruthless glint flashed in Bai Xizhu's eyes; she would not let any of those people go.

Bai Xizhu tightened her fingers, but suddenly something appeared in her hand.

Bai Xizhu looked down and saw that she was holding a piece of wood with a few tender green buds hanging sparsely on it.

Bai Xizhu raised an eyebrow, focusing all her attention on her hands, guiding the power in her brain towards them.

The small piece of wood didn't grow bigger, but it sprouted a few tender green buds.

It's a wood-based ability!

I never expected that I would have another superpower after being reborn!

Bai Xizhu threw away a piece of wood in her hand and, with great enthusiasm, began to use the faint power in her brain to activate her wood-type supernatural ability.

Wood-type ability users are the most sought-after after the establishment of the safe base.

It can stimulate the growth of seeds, resulting in the production of grains.

In an era when everyone could have enough to eat, after the apocalypse broke out, being able to eat one's fill became a luxury.

Suddenly, Bai Xizhu's vision blurred and she disappeared from the spot.

Bai Xizhu looked around in a daze. All she could see was a lush green meadow, with a small stream flowing gently in the distance.

Bai Xizhu took a breath, inhaling the fragrance of fresh grass and soil into her lungs.

Bai Xizhu glanced around in surprise, her heart churning with turmoil.

After the apocalypse, humans awakened all sorts of superpowers, the rarest of which was spatial ability.

I've heard that space-type ability users can store all sorts of supplies, making them highly sought-after by various bases.

However, Bai Xizhu had also heard that the space within the space system was limited, with the largest being only a few dozen or a hundred square meters.

Bai Xizhu glanced around and saw that the land covered dozens of acres!

Bai Xizhu arrived at the stream. The stream was crystal clear, and she could vaguely see several fish swimming freely.

Following the stream, Bai Xizhu was blocked by a thin mist and could not take another step forward.

It seems this is the boundary of space.

"What's this?"

Bai Xizhu squatted on the ground with a frown. There were three white jade-like sculptures on the ground, each about 30 centimeters tall, and the creatures carved were lifelike.

One of the carvings is of a bird, which looks somewhat like a bee.

One of the carvings is of a snake.
