Aside from the fact that he became an uncle, Bai Yifan really couldn't think of anything else that could make his older sister so serious.
Bai Xizhu gasped for breath, stunned by her younger brother's astonishing words.
He stood there stunned for a long time, but didn't say anything.
"It can't be true, right?" Bai Yifan's face twisted slightly with rage. "My dad will definitely beat me to death!"
"Why did I hit you?" Bai Xizhu asked subconsciously.
"When have your parents ever hit you?" Bai Yifan rolled his eyes. "Whatever happens in our family, isn't it always me, the man, who takes the blame? If you make a mistake, it's definitely because I didn't watch you properly!"
Men should bear the pain that men must bear!
Bai Xizhu paused for a second, then calmly said, "I'm sorry to disappoint you, you didn't become an uncle. I just wanted to tell you that the end of the world will happen in three months!"
"She's not pregnant!" Bai Yifan breathed a sigh of relief.
That's good, he won't get beaten up!
Wait, the end of the world?
"Sis, are you still half asleep?" Bai Yifan asked, looking puzzled.
"It's true, the apocalypse has really happened." Bai Xizhu put her hand on Bai Yifan's shoulder and silently chanted the space in her mind.
The siblings disappeared from the spot at the same time.
In a flash, Bai Yifan found himself on a lush green meadow.
"This, this, this!" Bai Yifan rubbed his eyes hard, looking at Bai Xizhu in disbelief. "This is... a portable space from a novel?"
"right!"
Bai Xizhu nodded with certainty, then led Bai Yifan out of the space.
Bai Yifan slumped in his chair, staring wide-eyed at Bai Xizhu. "Sis, did you just say the end of the world?"
"Yes, it's similar to the novels you read, the kind with zombies!"
Bai Xizhu felt slightly dazed, as if she had returned to that time of anxiety.
"Then, how did you know?" Bai Yifan scratched his hair hard, then suddenly thought of something, "Could it be that you were reborn?"
"It wasn't a rebirth, it was just a nightmare!"
Bai Xizhu paused for a moment, then subconsciously shook her head.
She didn't want to admit that what she saw in those three years was real; she could just treat it as a dream.
The dream is over, the world is still a good place, and my family is still here.
"Dreaming?" Bai Yifan asked tentatively. "What did you dream about?"
"I dreamt that I died," Bai Xizhu said calmly.
"Please accept my condolences..." Bai Yifan was slightly embarrassed, scratched his head, and finally managed to squeeze out a sentence, "Anyway, you're alive now, that's all that matters!"
"Hmm!" Bai Xizhu raised an eyebrow and nodded again.
Indeed, she is now a living, breathing person.
"By the way, what happened to me back then? Did I awaken any legendary superpowers?" Bai Yifan's eyes suddenly lit up.
How cool would it be to have the legendary superpowers!
Moreover, there's no need for the college entrance exam anymore!
There's no need to learn that damn English anymore!
It seems to look pretty good.
“That’s good. I’ll pick a white chrysanthemum for you every January 21st, rain or shine,” Bai Xizhu said calmly. “You’re sleeping peacefully.”
Bai Yifan: ? ? ? ?
Bai Yifan silently clutched his heart, feeling its pounding, and it took him a while to calm down.
Hearing someone say they'll die in the future is really... hard to accept.
How did I die?
Bai Yifan silently huddled in the chair, hugging himself, as if only in this way could he give himself a little warmth.
"Why don't you ask how our parents are?" Bai Xizhu retorted.
"How are our parents?" Bai Yifan asked, following Bai Xizhu's words.
"They turned into zombies to save us."
Bai Xizhu slowly closed her eyes, feeling a pang of pain in her heart.
Bai Yifan was silent for a moment, then smiled and said, "It's okay, our family is still fine!"
"This time, my family will definitely survive!"
Bai Xizhu opened her eyes, her face filled with determination.
She has already seen the future and has a personal space, so she can lead her family to survive in the apocalypse no matter what.
"Sis, tell me, how exactly did I die?" Bai Yifan scratched his head and asked again.
“After our parents turned into zombies, you weren’t good at sports and couldn’t outrun them.” Bai Xizhu glanced at Bai Yifan and calmly added, “Luckily—it’s all in the family.”
Bai Yifan's expression instantly became quite interesting, and it took him a long time to finally manage to stammer out, "That's true!"
At least no outsiders benefited!
Bai Yifan felt incredibly conflicted. He didn't know whether to be happy that he didn't have to take the college entrance exam or upset about being eaten.
"It's okay, everyone else is dead anyway, at least we're still alive!"
Bai Xizhu patted Bai Yifan on the shoulder and offered a word of comfort.
Bai Yifan: ...
Thank you, but I wasn't comforted.
"How many days until the apocalypse?" Bai Yifan smiled easily. "The biggest luck is that you have a personal space. We can just hoard food in it. That's how it's written in novels."
"Three more months." Bai Xizhu glanced at the calendar on her phone and said softly, "This time, our whole family will definitely not die together."
"Yes!" Bai Yifan thought of Bai Xizhu's space and instantly felt more confident. "Our whole family will definitely be able to get through this together."
Bai Xizhu smiled, and the gloom on her face vanished.
