Zhang Yiming no longer wanted to speak.
He felt an intense burning sensation in his stomach.
I felt a pain I had never felt before, which filled my whole body. It was as if I was being crushed and reshaped, over and over again.
Zhang Yiming managed to stand up, leaning against the wall, but he couldn't take another step forward.
Leng Yebai glanced at Zhang Yiming, who was trembling with pain, and said very kindly, "Don't knock the door down when you leave, and close it behind you."
Zhang Yiming could no longer hear Leng Yebai speaking.
Sweat beaded on his forehead. He reached out and wiped the sweat from his forehead, staring blankly at the sweat on his hand.
My heart was struck by immense joy.
Sweat, only humans sweat!
Zhang Yiming gave up walking forward; just looking at the sweat on his hands made him too excited to move.
Leaning against the wall, I sat down on the ground, closed my eyes, and carefully felt every ache in my body.
The long-lost pain brought a slight smile to his lips.
Leng Yebai ignored Zhang Yiming, who was sitting on the ground looking like he was about to die, and continued to absorb the crystal core.
His only task is to absorb crystal cores.
Absorbing the crystal core will make him happy, make him more handsome, and make him more human.
"Xiao Zhu, what's wrong? Why are you here?" Fan Liping's surprised voice rang out from outside.
"Xiao Zhu, you look really good in this outfit today!"
Hu Meiling deliberately raised her voice, as if trying to attract someone's attention.
Zhang Yiming and Leng Yebai opened their eyes at the same time.
A hint of panic appeared on Leng Yebai's decaying face. He quickly stood up, picked up Zhang Yiming like a cat, and placed him directly in the living room.
Then he quickly returned to his room and gently closed the crooked door.
The door lock is broken.
Leng Yebai glanced awkwardly at the mirror and saw the rotting flesh on his face.
The rotting fingers hurriedly moved the chair behind the door; even the flimsy chair didn't seem very safe.
Leng Yebai quickly sat down in the chair.
It remained motionless and made no further sound.
It resembles a rotting sculpture.
Zhang Yiming, standing at the door, tried to get up, but he had no strength left.
She could only manage to tidy her clothes before Bai Xizhu came in.
However, his clothes were still wrinkled, and he couldn't wipe the sweat off his face.
Hu Meiling talked to Bai Xizhu while they went into the house together.
Bai Xizhu seemed to sense something and her pace quickened.
Just now, she felt a strange sensation.
I always feel like Leng Yebai is nearby.
In a daze, she seemed to hear Leng Yebai's name.
When Bai Xizhu and Hu Meiling entered the living room, they immediately saw Zhang Yiming sitting on the floor against the wall.
He was covered in sweat, his clothes were wrinkled, and he occasionally gagged.
It looks like it was...
Hu Meiling blinked, then decisively turned and left.
Xiao Zhu is here to catch them in the act; she'd better leave quickly!
"Xiaoming, were you just calling Leng Yebai's name?"
Bai Xizhu half-squatted on the ground and pulled Zhang Yiming up, but her eyes were fixed on the door closest to Zhang Yiming.
"Huh?" Zhang Yiming wiped his sweat, glanced at the door, nodded vigorously, but said aloud, "I didn't call you, you must have misheard!"
When Bai Xizhu saw Zhang Yiming nod, she suddenly stood up, let go of Zhang Yiming's hand, and went to the door.
With a thud.
Zhang Yiming fell to the ground.
Zhang Yiming wiped his face again and continued to sit on the ground. The pain surged through his body, but this time he felt nothing.
Because all his attention was on Bai Xizhu.
"Leng Yebai, open the door."
Bai Xizhu's voice was very soft.
Leng Yebai, inside the room, trembled slightly, but didn't speak. His fingers were clenched tightly together, and some of the rotten flesh was scraped off.
Bai Xizhu stared quietly at the door, motionless.
She waited for Leng Yebai to open the door for her.
Leng Yebai huddled in the chair, his rotting eyes staring blankly at his reflection in the mirror.
He saw despair in those eyes.
Leng Yebai pressed his back against the door, close to it, as if this would bring him closer to Bai Xizhu.
Bai Xizhu placed her fingers on the door, but her eyes were fixed on the lock.
The door lock had fallen off, and through the small hole, she could see a dark figure sitting motionless in the doorway.
Slender fingers slowly reached through the hole, advancing little by little.
Finally, they encountered the black figure.
The black figure moved suddenly, like a startled deer.
They wanted to leave, yet they were too greedy to leave.
"Leng Yebai, come out."
Bai Xizhu said it again.
Her voice was so soft that Leng Yebai could barely hear it.
But he still heard it and imprinted every word in his mind.
Leng Yebai's rotting fingers twitched, but he still didn't open the door.
After a long while, Leng Yebai turned around, no longer facing away from the door, and his rotting fingers slowly approached the lock hole.
Bai Xizhu felt a cold touch, and a damp feeling.
Her slender, fair fingers trembled slightly.
The fingers on the other side trembled as well.
The slender fingers were slowly pushed out of the hole by the rotting fingers.
The rotting fingers began to gradually emerge in the direction Bai Xizhu was looking.
Unlike the fair and slender fingers I remembered, this finger reeked of decay, and because the hole was so small, a strand of black, rotting flesh still clung to it.
