The wound was a long, thin cut, clearly a mark left by a knife.
The blood oozing from the wound was bright red, not dark red, indicating that it was not infected.
After checking the wound several times, Captain Zhu put the pistol back into the buttstock.
"Officer, the rescue team has arrived? When will these...patients get better?"
A glimmer of hope flashed in the middle-aged man's eyes as he looked at Captain Zhu with anticipation.
"There's no rescue available right now, you'll have to save yourself!" Captain Zhu said irritably, glancing at the middle-aged man's hands. "In special circumstances, try your best to protect yourself. Those monsters are very sensitive to blood, otherwise this monster wouldn't be stuck here!"
It was because of the smell of blood in the house that the zombie didn't come down even after hearing Grandpa Wang's passionate ballad.

The young police officer responded and jogged downstairs.
"We're from S City, and we'd like to stay here for a few days, is that alright?" Captain Zhu asked gently.
On the third day of the apocalypse, it's not yet time to resort to robbery.
"Of course, of course." The middle-aged man extended his uninjured hand and shook hands with Captain Zhu. "Hello, my name is He Yunxi, and I'm the electrical engineer here!"
"Hello, just call me Lao Zhu." Captain Zhu nodded slightly, then emphasized again, "We look about the same age, so don't call me 'Uncle Policeman'!"
