The supermarket entrance was the most chaotic place, with dark brown blood all over the ground.
The snacks on the shelves were scattered on the ground, trampled and ruined by the zombies.
Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai continued walking inside, occasionally encountering zombies trapped under shelves and unable to get out, which they dealt with casually.
The entire supermarket was filled with a putrid smell, not only from rotting fruits and vegetables but also from a strong stench of blood.
The road was stained with blood.
The end times arrived in the morning, and the supermarket was packed with people buying New Year's goods.
The shelves were in disarray, and bloodstains could be seen on the packaging bags from time to time.
Bai Xizhu had no intention of accepting these things; it was too obvious and easy for people to see.
The two wandered around the first floor and finally found the supermarket's warehouse.
The warehouse was filled with boxes and boxes of beverages, rice, flour and other supplies. Bai Xizhu waved her hand and put them all into her spatial storage.
The second floor was not too messy. The two found the warehouse and put all the supplies inside into their space.
The third floor sells all kinds of daily necessities, and Bai Xizhu plans to buy some as well, since she will need them eventually.
creak, creak...
The faint sound of animals chewing could be heard from the third floor.
Bai Xizhu and Leng Yebai exchanged a glance, and slowed their pace.
The creaking sound came again.
The two followed the sound and arrived at the entrance of a shop.
This is a shop that sells bed sheets. Many colorful bed sheets are hanging at the entrance. Behind one of the bed sheets, you can vaguely see a small animal squatting on the ground.
Leng Yebai stepped forward and lifted the bed sheet.
"Meow—"
A white cat covered in blood crouched down, baring its teeth and claws as it stared at Leng Yebai and his companion.
Bai Xizhu then saw what it was eating.
It was a bloody finger; no one knew where it had gotten it from.
The crunching sound just now was the sound of the cat chewing on the bone.
The cat was startled and took a few steps with its body crouched. Seeing that Bai Xizhu and the other person did not attack it, it quickly darted away and ran away.
Bai Xizhu stared at her bloodied fingers, feeling slightly dazed.
The blood on that finger was red and hadn't clotted yet.
This means that the owner of this finger had recently died and was a living person who was not infected by zombies.
"There are people on the third floor," Leng Yebai said in a low voice.
Bai Xizhu pursed her thin lips slightly, her mood somewhat heavy.
Leng Yebai gently took Bai Xizhu's hand and whispered, "Why don't you go outside and wait for me?"
Bai Xizhu shook her head slightly and continued walking forward with Leng Yebai.
In the three years since the apocalypse, she has seen a great deal.
The warmth of her family almost made her forget how cruel the apocalypse was.
When the two reached the innermost warehouse, they faintly heard a woman sobbing.
The sobbing was very soft, and the woman's suppressed sobs made the quiet third floor seem somewhat eerie.
"Shut up, stop crying! If you attract zombies, I'll feed you to them!"
A man was threatening the woman in a low voice.
Bai Xizhu looked up at the door and window. There was a small hole in the door and window, just big enough for a cat to pass through.
She hadn't intended to get involved, but the woman's sobbing made Bai Xizhu's expression stiffen slightly.
The voice sounded a lot like one of her old friends.
The reason I was trapped in the research lab back then was because she tricked me into going out on a mission, I was tricked into fainting, and when I woke up I was in the research lab.
Bai Xizhu's fingers trembled slightly. Thinking of the torture she suffered in the research institute, Bai Xizhu wished she could rush over and beat the woman to death to feed the zombies.
However, she managed to control herself.
She didn't know where that so-called research institute was located.
All I knew was that it was a dark and gloomy place.
That organization is very mysterious. She is considered a relatively powerful superhuman in the post-apocalyptic world, but she has never heard of the existence of the research institute.
Therefore, if they want to blow up that damned research institute, this woman is the key.
"Bang bang bang!"
Bai Xizhu stiffly reached out and patted the door.
Leng Yebai noticed Bai Xizhu's expression and hurriedly took two steps toward her, his eyes full of concern.
Bai Xizhu gently shook her head at Leng Yebai, signaling him to watch from the side.
"who?"
A man's voice came from inside.
"I was passing by and heard some noise inside. Are you alright?"
Bai Xizhu tried her best to speak in a very calm tone.
"Where are those monsters outside...?"
The man's voice sounded slightly surprised.
With so many monsters inside the supermarket, how dare anyone stand outside!
"They're all dead. A really powerful person killed them all! There aren't a single zombie in the supermarket now," Bai Xizhu said.

The door opened a crack, revealing a pair of fierce eyes.
Those eyes scanned Bai Xizhu up and down, then narrowed lewdly.
Leng Yebai stood in front of Bai Xizhu, looking coldly at the person inside, emanating a chill from his body.
Seeing Leng Yebai's intimidating demeanor, the man awkwardly looked away.
With a creak.
The door opened.
It revealed the true nature of men and women.
The man was a rather short man with a sleazy appearance.
The woman looked pitiful, with a pair of watery, innocent eyes.
Only she knew how filthy those eyes concealed.
At the safe base, she treated her as a friend, if not a close friend, but someone she could trust.
