A middle-aged man with a stern face sat in a chair.
His face was expressionless, devoid of joy or sorrow, and he did not use any special abilities.
But even as he sat there, Song Hongfei could feel the cold air spreading throughout the entire room.
His face was cold and stern, and his sword-like eyebrows made him look incredibly handsome. Even though he was middle-aged, many young girls still turned their heads to look at him.
As Song Hongfei looked at the base commander of Yunhua Security Base, the image of the young man he had only met once earlier that day involuntarily surfaced in his mind.
If the base commander were a few years younger, he would look exactly like that young man today, with very similar facial features.
"Those three zombie kings in Shanghai have been very active lately. They seem to be looking for someone. Your mission this time is to find out who they are looking for," the base commander's cold voice rang out.
Yunhua Security Base is home to many powerful superhumans. Superhumans like Song Hongfei don't even need to go to the mission hall to pick up missions.
His mission was directly assigned by the base commander.
"good!"
Song Hongfei paused for a moment, then slowly nodded.
He also knew that there were three powerful zombie kings in Shanghai, and that these three zombie kings were cowardly and extremely afraid of death, always staying in the building and never daring to come out.
"Why did you come out this time?" Song Hongfei asked, puzzled.
Those three zombie kings were really good at hiding. If it weren't for the zombie horde surrounding that building and the fact that the base commander had personally gone to check it out, no one would have known that there were three zombie kings hiding inside!
Too much of a homebody!
The base commander's expression remained unchanged, and his voice remained calm and steady.
"Recently, a zombie king has come to Shanghai, and all the other zombie kings listen to him."
The cool voice paused for a moment, then continued.
"In other words, he should be the king of zombies."
Song Hongfei frowned upon hearing the base commander's words.
The zombie king is already a catastrophe for humanity; if several more zombie kings appear, humanity's position will be in grave danger.
But if a ruler were to actually emerge among the zombie kings, a great battle between humans and zombies would surely ensue.
Last time, the people from the Fire Phoenix Security Base in City D boasted that they were going to war with the Zombie King, but that was just a small skirmish.
Later, he was so frightened by what was in the Yellow River that he fled in panic.
The scene of the base commander outlasting the zombie king is still vivid in our minds, but if we really fight the zombie king, humanity can only protect the last sanctuary by using heavy weapons.
Imagine a war between humans and zombies, with humans constantly dying while new zombie corpses keep returning...
The number of zombies will only increase.
"Humanity is truly facing a major crisis this time."
Song Hongfei rubbed his temples, his face showing signs of weariness.
It was thought that the arrival of the apocalypse had already caused humanity immense suffering, but in reality, the future will be even more uncertain.
The base commander didn't say anything more. Although his face was expressionless, his eyes looked sharp.
He stared silently at the computer screen, the pale white light illuminating his face, making him appear even more aloof.
The computer cannot access the internet, but it can communicate within a local area network throughout the building, forming a small network.
Normally, the people at the Yunhua Security Base use this for their offices.
The person who set up the local area network was the head of the Yunhua Security Base himself.

Looking at that cold, stern face, Song Hongfei suddenly said something.

Song Hongfei's probing question did not receive a response from the base commander.
The base commander never paid any attention to such nonsense.

The image of the young man he had just seen flashed through Song Hongfei's mind again. He mustered his courage and used all his curiosity.
The sound of typing on the keyboard stopped abruptly.
The air conditioning in the room instantly became much stronger.
"No."
The base commander's voice was icy cold.
He would never do anything to betray his wife, so how could he possibly have an illegitimate child?
He only had one, his very only, biological son.
More than 20 years ago, his own brother coveted his property and stole and abandoned his child, whose whereabouts remain unknown to this day.
Later, his so-called brother died, and his wife also fell ill and never recovered because of that incident.
At this point, he was all alone in his home.
There have been no illegitimate children before, and there will never be any in the future.
"Sorry, I was just asking." Song Hongfei scratched his head, silently took a step back to avoid the cold air rushing towards him, and muttered softly, "I saw someone today who looks a bit like you. I was just asking."
