Just as Leng Yebai reached out to help Bai Xizhu, Bai Xizhu took a step back and stood next to Zhang Yiming, even closer than before.
These are all subconscious actions.
In an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people, Bai Xizhu still felt it was better to stand with Zhang Yiming.

"Confirmed!" the base commander said righteously. "To avoid breaking base rules, please use the main gate!"

Bai Xizhu didn't want to wait here alone.

Whether Zhang Yiming can get into the safe base is no longer that important to him.
Xiao Zhu only has temporary amnesia, there's no need to keep making things difficult for her.

Zhang Yiming led Bai Xizhu directly towards the direction where the bus was parked.

When he smiled, his entire demeanor changed drastically, and he looked exactly like a sleazy old man.
"Yes! You can eat whatever you want, I can cook anything!"
